Cherry got up from bed the next day with a smile on her face. Sitting up, she was surprised to see her mom sitting on her bed.
"Mum!" she was so shocked, so she screamed out of fear "you almost gave me an heart attack." she held her chest and steadied her breath.
Lola gave her a sad smile before patting her shoulder.
"Is everything alright mum?"
Though she looked calm, her voice sounded panicked. Her mother just gave her a smile like before.
"Everything is alright, mum is just worried she would be seeing you less, now that you would be going to college after this holiday, mum will miss you." she held Cherry's cheeks with her palm, then planted a kiss on her forehead.
"Breakfast would be starting in the next thirty minutes."
Cherry watched her mum leave her room, she felt something was wrong with her mother, she just couldn't tell what.
She went to the bathroom to clean up, before joining her family for breakfast.

" Eat slowly Tom, the food is not gonna grow legs to run."
"Haha, you know nothing about what's gonna happen today."
He ignored her and just kept stuffing food into his already full mouth.
"Is there some competition or what?"
How could she know what was happening today. No one's told her anything, neither has she gone out.
"Of course not, we are going on a tour."
He was in pain from swallowing so much food down his throat, but the smile did not leave his face.
"Why didn't you say so from the beginning. When is it starting?" she also started stuffing her mouth with food, and she was surprised that her parents did not complain.
"It's starting 10:00am." he dropped his empty Plat and gulped down a cup of water.
"Pfft, why didn't you say so before, the time is just 8:23am,why the need to rush your food."
Her parents laughed silently when seeing her pouted lips.
"Oh, that," smiles" I made a new friend last night, he asked me to come pick him. "he wiped his mouth clean and got up to leave.
" What's his name? "
" Rolly, Rolly Richard."
"What! You mean the Richard family, the owners of Rollyric fashion design."
"The one and only."
Out of excitement, Cherry slammed her hands on the table, causing some soup to splash on her father's face.
"I'm sorry dad." she handed him some tissue to wipe his face. "Tom."
"Yes."
"Can I tag along?"
"What! No, no, I'm sorry, I'm not sure if he wants to meet you, you know, I'm not meeting his family."
He let out a sigh, why didn't he think beforehand that if he told her who he was visiting, she would want to follow him.
"Never mind, you don't want me coming along, I understand, come on, go on."
He saw the bitter smile on her face and quickly looked away.
"Don't worry, you would see him before we leave the Island."
"Sure."
He took his leave while the rest kept eating.
"Cherry"
"Yes father." she looked at her father with a smile on her face.
"You should mingle with others, whether they are older than you or not. Rolly Richard should be nineteen if I'm not mistaken, but your brother is just fifteen, he even made fiends with a Mr Torando. He claims to have met you, said you were very polite but turned down the drink he offered you, so he said when next you meet, he would like to have a drink with you. To which I agreed. "
" Oh, I see." she gave her father an angelic smile, but her thoughts were otherwise.
'Mr Torando sure is good with his words, does he think I would go back on my words. He must be dreaming, what a shameless man. '
Her father did not notice the change of expression on her face, but her mother knew she was disgusted with Mr Torando.
