Tyler's P.O.V
And here we are again back at this miserable place. I'm sitting in my car waiting for eight-thirty to roll around so I can go in.
Everyone else waits standing outside their cars, Vivian is sulking in Addison's car watching Kyle and his 'skank' from across the lot.
I hear a car pull up next to me, I glance over and notice it's James truck. I watch as he parks, pulls out his phone and does a lot of typing.
My phone buzzes, he texted me.
Wanna come sit in my tuck? -James
I look at the clock in my phone and see that we still have fifteen minutes. I grab my bag and get out of my car locking it then going over to the passenger side of his truck.
I stand there and cross my hands in front of me and wait, he leans over and opens the door. "So you are a gentleman" I say as I climb in and he moves his bag.
"The best gentleman you'll ever meet" there's his smile I've been missing. I smile back and happen to catch everyone starring at us, well everyone but Vivian.
"So are you doing anything after lunch?" he messes with the hole in his jeans, a hole that's there from wearing them down not him buying them that way.
"Um yeah, I have a fifth period" saying it I feel a little embarrassed. "Really?" he looks confused, "Yeah, Oral Communication. I hate it" I can't help but sigh.
"Oh with Mr. Green?", I sigh once again "Yeah I don't like him" he laughs. "Why?" "He wants me to talk, in front of everyone, I have too much anxiety for that. I hate that they put me in that stupid class it's terrible" he laughs again.
"Please stop laughing at me" I feel like I'm about to cry, "I'm sorry it's jus- hey what's wrong?" he notices the tears forming in my eyes.
"Don't lau-laugh at me" I wipe my eyes, "I'm sorry" "You know, if Greyson knew I started crying just now he'd knock your lights out" I giggle as his face pales.
"Okay well it's eight-thirty now, you ready to head in?" I nod and we get out and start heading to the school. As we're getting closer and closer to winter the colder it's getting, I wrap my arms around myself.
"Want my jacket?" he starts to take his letterman off, "No I'm f- yeah I want it" of course the wind had to blow as I'm trying to deny his jacket.
He takes it off and puts it on my like the other day, but as he puts it around my arms he bumps my Dexocom.
"What's that?" he stops, "It's um, my Dexcom" I finish putting the jacket on. "I didn't mess it up did I?" it's funny watching him be all nervous, "No you're fine" I can't help but giggle.
"So I can't laugh at you but you can laugh at me?" He raises raises an eyebrow like he does and we continue into the school.
"Yes, yes I can" I nod and we start our walk up to the third floor. By the time we get to the second floor I have to stop, I start feeling dizzy and light headed. I lean against the wall and James stops walking, "What's wrong?" he puts his hands on my shoulders and looks over me.
"I'm fine, dizzy, but fine I promise" I try to reassure him. "You sure I don't need to take you to the nurse?" I nod and we go up the last flight, his arm stays wrapped around my shoulders and we go slowly.
We get to class and I'm the first as usual, Mr. Janssen isn't even in here yet. I sit in my usual spot, what throws me off however is James sitting in the seat next to me.
"James someone sits there" "Yeah I know, it's fine. We don't have assigned seats we all just tend to sit in the same spot everyday. And Bryan's always high, he'll just sit wherever there's an empty seat" he shrugs.
"Do you not want to sit next to me?" he plays hurt, the rooms spinning so I lay my head down. "Tyler, did you eat breakfast?" shit. I knew I was forgetting something today.
"I forgot" "Do you want me to take you to the nurse?" he sounds really worried. "I'm good okay" my phone beeps loudly, I pull it out and see that my number is so low all it says is 'URGENT LOW'.
I start to reach into my bag to find a snack but James places a bag of chocolate chip cookies on my desk.
"I know you aren't gonna go to the nurse unless you pass out and I carry you there" he sighs. I open the cookies and slowly eat them with shakey hands, "Good morning, Tyler you know there's no eating in class" Mr. Janssen says coming into the class.
"Her blood sugars really low right now" James says as I eat another cookie. "Okay just hurry up before everyone else gets in here" Janssen says taking a seat.
I nod and hurry to finish the bag, "Do you need to go take your insulin?" James asks as I throw the empty wrapper away in the trashcan behind me.
"No I'll be fine" before he can say anything Greyson comes in the class. "Why did I get a urgent low notification?!" this is why I don't like sharing my Dexcom with him.
"I forgot to eat this morning, sorry" he looks between me and James, "You, make sure she eats got it" he says pointing at James.
He nods and Greyson sits down, the class fills in and Janssen starts his lesson.
After Math me and James head off to English, he switched his seat in there too.
He now sits right behind me, he checked on me the whole way there asking if I was okay.
After English I walk by myself to Science where Felix sits next to me and decides we're gonna be lab partners for our lab this week.
Then I walk to Economics where James has again switched seats to be next to me. Then at lunch James pays for my food, I get a cheeseburger and fries.
Felix and Greyson's other friends have now joined us sitting at our table, James sits next to me of course.
I try and eat but there's too much happening. Greyson and Felix's friends are being loud and obnoxious, everyone else is talking loudly, Vivian has her head down on the table probably crying.
I put my hands over my ears to try and block out the noise. I put my elbows on the table, tuck my head into them, close my eyes and take in James smell.
I feel something on my hands, then someone pulling my arms and then it's quite. I open my eyes and see James has my arms, I take my hands up to my ears and feel two round hard things.
I look at him confused, he pulls out his phone and types then my phone buzzes.

If you think they're loud now, imagine riding on a bus with 50 of them going to and from a game. Especially when we won. -James

It's no problem, now finish your food -James
I eat my food in the nice silence, it's then time for me to go take my insulin. I take the headphones off and hand them back to James before I grab my bag and trash and throw it away and head out the door.
Dallas follows behind and were at the nurses office in no time.
After taking my insulin I wait for Dallas, it takes him longer since he has to manually check his blood sugar. Then we head off to the absolute worst class ever, Oral Communication.
