The steam that rose from the hot bath that Maria made, relaxed Selena's nerves. The lavender scented bath mixed with some herbs to fortify her skin made her dive further into the hot water in the queen sized bathroom. At least it relieved her of her fear after the nightmare she had.
"Miss, is the temperature to your liking?" Maria asked as she bath the Selena. " Yes. Infact it is more than comfortable." she said as she leaned back more. "Did you see anyone come into my room by any chance?" she asked as she played with the locks of her hair. But Maria's confused face made it clear that she had no idea." The Duke came yesterday at night. I'm sure you would meet him today, Miss." Maria said as a smile formed on her cute face showing her cute deep dimples. Maria was too cute to be a maid and looking at her devotion to her, made Selena promised to protect her. Maria's black hair and her brown eyes made her look like a puppy in Selena's eyes." I guess you should doll me up then." she closed her eyes enjoying the bath and trying to forget those glowing violet eyes she saw in her nightmare.
Mickel sat on Xavier's bed as he enjoyed the sight of seeing his brother struggling to pick an outfit to meet his soon to be bride."You do know that this isn't the first time you are meeting a woman right? You've gotten married for eight times and this is the first time I've seen you even interested." Mickel said a he laughed at his brother. Xavier didn't spare him a glance and finally chose a black coat with silver lining and black leather shoes. Mickel blocked Xavier's way when he saw that he was going to the dining hall." Get out of my way." Xavier ordered with a growl as his bared his claws. " Whoa! hold up. Don't tell me you are going to meet her in the dining hall? Seriously?" he said as he backed away with a grin. " What do mean?" Xavier asked with confusion, widening Mickel's grin. "Just trust me"he said as a foolish smile replaced the grin earlier making Xavier annoyed.
Selena didn't regonize the person in the mirror because she didn't look anything like her. She wore a royal blue gown which matched perfectly with the diamond flower necklace and crystal blue eye rings. Her hair was left flowing behind her for the first time and a hair pin had been used for preventing her hair from distracting her sight. Maria did a light make up to enhance her beauty. "Mistress, you look like a goddess." Maria said as her eyes sparkled with admiration. However, the thought of her hair exposed and the stares she may receive worried her so. As she walked by,the other maids giggled and whispered in awe at the unique hair color of their mistress. They've seen many types of hair color but red was very rare and their mistress had flamming hair with gold lining in it. 'All this to meet a man I'll be running away from.'she scoffed as Almond, the butler entered to announce that the duke requested their breakfast in the garden.
Selena left with Maria trailing behind her. All heads turned in her direction as her heel click clack on the titles. Everyone wondered who she was and the origin of her unique hair color. The breeze was cold and comforting for Xavier who waited impatiently for the arrival of his wife. He admired the handy work done to the rose garden that he made for his wife as a surprise. His mind suddenly drifted to the first time he laid his eyes on her but before he got lost in thought, he heard the light footsteps of his wife and her soft breathing.
Selena turned around to admire the beauty of the rose garden which was divided into different paths according to their colors like blue, yellow , white and red roses being at the center of it all. She walked towards the man who stood in the middle of the red roses but before she could move forward he suddenly turned to her. Her mouth dropped in awe at his extreme handsomeness, as if the gods took their time to create him. He had ebony black hair that compliment his pale skin. His red heart shaped thin lips made her want to ravish him whole. Her eyes darted to his eyes to see the coldest mesmerizing violet eyes that stared back at her. She was frozen to the spot as he slowly made his way to her. She closed her eyes asking herself why her eyes were closed as her heart pounded rapidly as if she would die any moment form a heart attack. She suddenly opened her eyes when she felt him putting something in her hair. "Red roses suit you better, my little flame." his deep hoarse voice whispered as his cold eyes twinkled.
He held her hands gently as he led her to their breakfast set up in the garden. He pulled the chair as she sat down and sat in front of her. The atmosphere between them was awkwad and the silence that laced between them made Selena's face red with embarrassment as she remembered her reaction when she saw him. She looked up to stare at him as he ate quietly without a sound.' How is he eating so peacefully when I can't even chew because of him.' she thought to herself as she pouted. She stared at him to catch him staring at her with a confused face. He stood up and went to her side as he sat beside her and started cutting the meat on the plate for her. He picked one and turned to her "Say ahhh." he said as he put the meat in her mouth. She struggled to chew as she took the fork from him with her face reddening more and smiled awkwardly. He stood up and went to his seat observing her as she ate in the most awkward manner. Suddenly the nightmare she had flashed across her eyes as her eyes widened in realization. The person had violet eyes and she stared at him with suspicion in her eyes.
"I thought when people meet for the first time, they introduce themselves." she said as she ate without looking at him. " Sorry for that. I am Lord Xavier ,the Duke of Tewkresch." he said as he continued eating his food. " I have a question to ask." she said as she placed her utensils down making Xavier look at her questionly. " Am I going to be killed or imprisoned for the color of my hair if people found out? And why is everyone so surprised at it?" she asked while looking at the roses " Roses have the chance to be red according to nature but it seems like my red hair is rumored to be a curse here." she continued but this time looking at Xavier's cold eyes that screamed murderous intent . " Tell me who wants to harm you. I shall destroy his entire generation." he growled as he bared his fangs scaring her.
