Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

My parents had been waiting for this day, and now it has finally arrived.

My wedding day.

The event was not a lavish affair; guests were chosen.

"You're very lovely, Chantal." I was hugged by my buddy Jurelle as she arrived.

"I find it unbelievable that you will be the first to get married!" Joanna added, her eyes welling with tears.

"Why are you acting in this way?" I asked chuckling.

I and Jurelle both made fun of her, then I said with a smile, "I'm grateful that you both made it!"

"You are having a big day today. We have to witness it!" Joanna nodded to what Jurelle said.

Before the ceremony began, I smile at the guests and allow them to take pictures of the me.

We were able to take a photo with the parents, and even though I don't know what Mateo looks like, he will undoubtedly be handsome, they were also able to get a photo with him.

My parents found it amusing when we mentioned that my villa might make a wonderful place for us to spend our honeymoon.

They recently stocked up on lots of food for our stay.

I flushed at the idea that Mateo had recommended the honeymoon be held in my villa, which I feel to be a nice idea.

Since there was only one room in the villa, which was made specifically for couples, it was preferable to go to the beach, and he is willing to sleep on the sofa.

After the shareholders and friends from each company came the ceremony began.

I walk down the aisle with my parents at my side.

Dad cried and said, "You're so beautiful!"

I just gave him a bear hug while laughing at him. Mom didn't even look at me before the door opened.

I couldn't help but believe that this fake marriage was taking place.

People were staring at me, which made me start to feel uneasy. I also couldn't help but gaze at the man who was standing by the altar, waiting for me.

Mateo was grinning and looked very dashing.

As numerous photographers snapped pictures of Chantal, she began to make her way down the aisle.

While Chantal's heart was on the verge of breaking, her smile never left her lips.

It would have been better if we had already met. It would be incredible if our connection led to our marriage.

At least now that I've had an opportunity to experience it, I can state that I'm less inclined to get married if the wedding is not structured like a business presentation.

Dad shook Mateo's hand and then extended my hand to him.

"Please treat our treasure with care." I smiled but refrain it and almost puked at the thought that I was enjoying all of this.

The ceremonies continued as planned.

After Mateo and Chantal changed vows, the priest said with a smile, "I now pronounce you man and wife using the authority granted to me. You may kiss your bride!"

Mateo held my face held slowly drew his face closer to mine, and I felt my chest tighten as he abruptly caressed both of my cheeks.

His lips came into contact with mine, giving me a tender kiss that gave me chills.

Everybody cheered and shouted. Just like I did, he grinned at me.

The other people followed once we left the hallway. There were many guests at the reception.

Naturally, the parents' message had to be delivered.

"She used to be in my arms, but she's getting married now." My father said to me then turned his gaze to the man beside me, "Mateo, please. Take care of our daughter."

Mateo abruptly touched my hand, which caught me off guard. I could sense the gentleness he imparted from somewhere deep inside.

Even though I am aware that it was merely a contract, a part of me still believes wish this was true.

Everyone seemed to love the gathering, and I could sense their excitement.

"You seem to be enjoying yourselves," Mateo asked.

"Of course—savor it while it last they say! I just wish it were real. I mean, be wed by some I really loved." At the same moment, I smile.

Mateo's expression changed but I didn't think of it that much and thought that he might feel the same.

The ceremony went by swiftly and after that, I change my clothes because we are also traveling to the resort today.

My father said that the sooner the better.

In Mateo's Bugatti La Voiture Noire, we have all of our things ready.

We said our regards to both of our parents and I fall asleep while we're on board.

When I opened my eyes, the room was dark and I was the only person there.

I got up as soon as I noticed how delicious the food smelled and decided to walk out of the room and was surprised to see him wearing an apron.

"You're awake! Sit here; I've already prepared our dinner." Mateo said placing something on a plate.

"I didn't realize you knew how to cook," I said rubbing my eye.

"You just met me, unexpectedly," Mateo said with a sly look.

"It's not immediately apparent from the look on your face."

We did not talk while we were eating the food he had cooked.

After we were done, I put our plates by the sink. I turned around to pick up the remaining dishes that were still on the table and was startled to see him standing in front of me.

He grabbed my waist and lifted me off the counter. Mateo looked at me with his gloomy eyes and said, "Mrs. Harris, fill me up! I need you..."
