Chapter 14 - Journey to Asmovius Kingdom (2)

Every midnight, the daily quest is opened and will restart every next midnight. Like yesterday, before sunrise, Lein finished the quest swiftly, and intended to do the same this time. When the three teenagers wake up, it will be difficult to finish next time.

Two hours after his shift, he opened the daily quest. This is the right time!

After reading the contents of the quest, Lein got up from his seat, then used all of his sense power to scan the surroundings; looking for the nearest orc whereabouts.

His aura radiates for 1 mile. However, there were only a few low grade goblins that he sensed.

"Looks like I'll have to look elsewhere."

Lein took long strides and ran at a crazy speed. In fact, when he jumped, it spanned dozens of meters from its previous point; makes him look like flying.

While running, Lein simultaneously emitted his aura. At its current level, its range was only 1 mile. However, it was still an extremely terrifying power. Within that range, no one could hide from him, unless they possessed much greater power than him.

Two minutes later, his aura reached the Orc's hideout. It is only about 600 meters from the east.

Lein immediately took long strides and moved towards it. However, raiding an orc's lair? Where did his confidence come from?

It only took a few seconds for Lein to arrive there and land in the middle of a group of orcs who were eating the carcasses of several goblins and humans. Looking at the piles of armors, staffs, torn clothes, on his left, Lein could conclude that this group of Orcs around him had killed countless humans and weaker monsters.

However, before the Orcs could react from the surprise of his appearance, Lein immediately took a long stride, brandished his dagger, and moved to kill one of the Orcs at an insane speed using only 5 moves.

In the morning, the four of them woke up early, except for George who was still too lazy to move. After yesterday's fight, he had used up too much mana, so it felt as if his body had received a heavy blow from a giant boulder; limp and almost helpless.

"Unlike yesterday, why am I feeling too tired this morning? Though, the escape from the goblins should have absorbed more of my mana," said George in a low voice.

Lein, who was not far from him, immediately found the answer, but chose to remain silent. That was of course due to the effects of the Cave of Life. Luckily they only stayed there 1 night. If it lasts for 1 week, no! If it lasted even just 3 days, they would immediately know of the Cave of Life's immense benefits.

Sitting not far from the still slightly lit coals, Ron looked at the map as he matched his current location. After a while, he finally came to a conclusion, "We are probably only about 3 miles away from Wesct Village now. When we get there, it should only take us less than 6 days to actually arrive at the Asmovius Kingdom." It was just a rough estimate from Ron. Because the map didn't show the actual distance, so he could only infer from a comparison the distance between the Cave of Life and its current location.

Alice and George replied with only nods of approval. Even though Ron was not very good at fighting, he was really reliable when it came to intelligence. According to the two, Ron was more suitable to be a war leader who set strategy and tactics than to be a direct warrior.

After having breakfast and preparing all the equipment, they continued their journey. Almost as Ron had expected, after traveling 3.5 miles, they arrived at Wesct Village. There, with some bronze notes still left in each pocket of the suits and dress of the three teenagers, they bought them several types of bread, clothes and various other types of food. In fact, the fully loaded bag on George's back was 80% filled with food.

It took about 6 hours or so until they actually got out of Wesct Village and walked back to the outskirts of the Astorm Forest.

The Astorm Forest is very large in size; about 1370 km². The Astorm Forest was surrounded by 35 villages, including Astrada Village, and became part of the Asmovius Kingdom's territory. However, as a result of the Barbarian Race's Raid, Astrada Village will be removed from the map from 2 months from now, then adding a new territory from the Barbarian Race's loot territory.

During their journey until nightfall, they didn't encounter any monsters, so all the fatigue that clung to their bodies now was only from the long journey. After finding a tree that had almost the same appearance as before, they used it for shelter and rest.

Morning greeted again and they continued their journey. Today, Lein chose to ignore the daily quest. About 10 miles from where they were currently, they would find Cernel City. If they were lucky, they could find a ride there, for Cernel City was one of the largest industrial cities in the Asmovius Kingdom, where it produced thousands of tons of medicinal herbs for nobles and commoners all over the Kingdom every year.

About 2 hours of travel later, they arrived in front of Cernel City. In contrast to Wesct Village, Cernel Town was surrounded by a gigantic 30 meter high wall, and the main gate was guarded by many iron warriors. Looking at the Cernel gatekeepers, Lein could guess they were Class 2 Swordman, levels between 15-25.

In front of the gate, several people had lined up who also wanted to enter the city. Among them were many merchants from the 35 villages surrounding the Astorm Forest.

After 1 hour of queuing, it was the fourth turn. Only by paying 2 pieces of bronze notes for each person, they were allowed into the city.

When going further, Lein was shown a whole new sight. Unlike seeing the same scenery on a computer, seeing it in person really gives the impression of beauty and various colors.

Wesct Village and Astrada Village only have small houses which are separated from each other. It was different from Cernel City which had many storey buildings that were attached to each other. Although not all of them, several separate buildings actually provide empty gaps used by beggars and homeless people to settle down; indicated that Cernel City was a densely populated city.

Lein, who was looking at the cityscape with an amazed expression, was immediately noticed by the three. Seeing him, Ron who felt pity immediately said, "You must have spent your whole life just in the forest. I'll show you some things you might not know," Ron said with a smile on his face, as if wanting to please Lein and trying to give his best.

Lein only replied with a smile and a nod of approval. However, Ron did not know the true meaning of the smile.

Damn Boy! I previously lived in a world that had technology that you would definitely never see in your entire life! If you were to look at it and compare it to this world, I wonder what kind of expression you would show.

During their journey, Ron explained some of the things they encountered on the way to Lein. Like carriages and mechanisms, shops that provide magic tools and alchemy materials, he even explained what beggars and homeless people were! Lein acted as if listening to him while almost completely ignoring him. When they saw the crowd raising a commotion, Ron finally stopped his explanation, but immediately took long strides to join the crowd.

"Ron, wait!" George couldn't stop himself from chasing her. Judging by Ron's expression, it looked like he wanted to butt into their troubles. George, of course, knew very well the nature of his best friend.

Meanwhile, Alice also came to the same conclusion and chased after the two, followed by Lein.
