Around half a month later the goblins returned to Adrian, letting him know that they were almost finished with connecting the two rivers and were awaiting instructions.
Through this time Adrian attempted to assist them with DP and to use his points to assist in removing the dirt in order to speed up the process, but he was unable to use his DP to dig out the channel.
He was not able to figure out why as the channel the goblins were digging should be considered as connected to his dungeon, but he assumed that the dungeon core was able to determine the difference between a dungeon tunnel, and an environmental one. He was just glad the future lake is considered a part of his dungeon territory.
During the past half month Adrian has been spending his DP on plant seeds buying two new species of plant.
[Mana Flower (Origin)] 500 DP
[Bruiseberry Bush (seed)] 50 DP
He purchased a singular [Mana Flower (Origin)] which was a [Mana Flower] but because it was an origin type, it gave it the ability to reproduce and make more Mana Flowers. He bought these because he wanted adventurers who came to have another incentive to enter his dungeon.
Mana Flower's were the main ingredient for the lesser mana potion after all. He also bought a few [Bruiseberry Bush] seeds, which were a berry bush that had these tennis ball sized berries on them, and if one approached they would literally start swinging and beat the shit out of enemies with their berries leaving them with a lot of bruises, hence the name. Their berries are considered a minor delicacy of the nobles due to their rarity.
He also purchased a bit more seeds of the previous plants he had bought making his dungeon full of flora and life. A few of the seeds had already sprouted, and the field of [Corpse Flower] he planted was already in full bloom. He guessed in around a month all the Plants would be fully grown.
Adrian paused as he looked at the goblins who were in front of him. They had all sat down after they were around five feet of digging from the edge of the river, not wanting to connect the two channels yet.
"Great Job!" Adrian said as he looked at the long channel that was dug, winding around a few colossal trees stretching into the distance. The tree's did prove a bit of trouble for the goblins, but nothing they couldn't handle.
Adrian looked at the river and wondered how he was going to get all the fish in the lake to swim up river, and into his channel so they didn't all die when he cut off the water supply.
He opened his DP catalog to look at what items he could purchase for this issue and his eyes eventually stopped at [Super Fish Incense] for 100 DP, it was an item that made fish practically go in a frenzy and Adrian smiled as this would definitely work. He also bought a few nets as he figured he might need them.
He tried to exchange for it but realized he couldn't because he was outside his dungeon, so annoyed at the mild inconvenience he walked all the way back to his territory before exchanging for the item and coming back.
"Ok, start connecting the two, make sure you don't get swept away by the water in the process" Adrian said as he took a few Verdant Wolves with him towards the lake.
Adrian took out the packet from his pocket and held it in hand. It looked like a tea packet and smelled god awful. The wolves next to him started to make retching noises as the stench permeated.
Adrian frowned as he attached the packet to the end of a long stick before dunking it in the water. Almost instantaneously splashing began to happen as hundreds of fish began jumping out of the water around his makeshift fishing pole trying to get to his incense.
Adrian was dumbfounded at this scene and admitted that the 100 DP was worth the price. He began to trace the packet along the water with him as he walked up stream. The giant mass of fish followed after him attempting to get as close as they could to the incense.
Like this he made his way back to where the goblins were finishing the channel, and it was perfect timing as well because as he arrived the small bit of dirt holding the river intact exploded due to the pressure and the water, along with all the fish Adrian had lure over began to funnel into the new riverway that had been dug.
"Quickly use the logs from the trees we chopped to build a dam here!" Adrian said
The goblins swiftly picked up the giant felled trees in groups as they dropped them across the river slowly but surely they made a dam blocking the water from flowing into the lake. Adrian then had them make a smaller channel from the lake side of the dam that connected to the channel they dug draining all the water slowly.
He made sure the new channel was higher than the previous one so no water would backflow back into the lake before he was satisfied. Very swiftly in just a few hours the water levels in the lake dropped to an all time low before no more water could be moved.
Satisfied with this Adrian and the goblins blocked off all channels and started to fill in the extra with dirt to prevent any mishaps. After a few hours of work they filled in the river, as it was much easier to place dirt than to remove it.
He looked at the now half drained lake and handed the nets he purchased to the goblins and said "Go try and capture as much of the remaining fish as you can".
"Do this for the rest of the day, then you guys will be finished with this project" Adrian said as he began to head back. He walked along the now filled channel, looking at the water flowing through it.
He arrived back at the dungeon and looked at his new lake with a smile. "What a worthy investment this was!" He looked at the bottom of the lake and felt like it was missing something before it hit him. There were no plants!
He opened the DP Shop and clicked the Lake bottom scenery and purchased it and the entirety of the lake filled with all sorts of plant life and rocks. He also noticed that over time the roots of World had grown into the lake making the bottom of the lake have a twisting maze of roots.
"Hahahah I see you are happy with my decision also World?" Adrian laughed at this though.
