Walking through the streets, breezes seemed to become more energetic, dusting off the dirt and leaves from the stone streets.
Walking down the street, he finally reached a place he recognized, as the Supreme Mage Tower just seemed to appear from nothing.
Seeing that, Mors, feeling the brisk wind, started to head to Alice's home.
Reaching the city center, Mors found a slight crowd of people circling the crystal still, but it was a lot smaller than before, and mainly comprised of people in overalls and coats.
Mors felt something strange about the crystal. He didn't get a solid answer from the two giants about it, like it was somewhat avoided.
Thinking about the crystal, Mors started to think about what the crystal did. Thinking to himself, 'did the Crystal Mind thing come before meeting the crystal, or did the crystal give it to him for some strange reason?'
The crystal seemed powerful, since it put the ghosts asleep. Just talking about it seemed to make it react, at least for the undead.
With him thinking about the crystal, he didn't notice his eyes changing in nearby reflections. When he left the enchanters building, his eyes were a calming deep forest green.
But at this point, they were almost pitch black, like a starless night sky. Darker than any shadow, it became a void absorbing all the light coming through Mor's eyes.
The wind picked up, as a withering aura exited Mors's body, turning all the weeds around him to dust, before disappearing.
Mors feeling some of this, ignored it all, as he could only focus on one thing in his mind.
The ghosts were back.
As the breeze inside his body became a tornado, Mors felt something escape from deep inside his body.
Then, five red orbs appeared in front of him, three being Genn, Spir, and Afiero as well as two the two unknown.
Joy filled Mors's body seeing the ghosts again, as a worrying mass was lifted from his shoulders.
His friends were back! Feeling the relief, Mors decided to never tell the ghosts about the crystal. No matter what. Ever.
He couldn't go back to living without some friends, even if he got used to the loneliness. In the time had been with the ghosts, loneliness left him, and he didn't think he could ever get used to it again.
Three of the orbs then transformed into their human forms, all with red eyes, before Genn asked, "What just happened?"
"Don't worry about it, all that matt—," started Mors, before the other ghost disappeared and Genn said, "What do you mean, don't worry?! We are all worried."
Turning around, Genn pointed around the city while saying, "the others are checking for anything. What happened exactly? All we remember is you starting your run, then you appearing here."
A small chuckle exited Mors's body as a smile appeared on his face. With that, he said, "You were asleep then," and then in a quieter voice, Mors mumbled, "or maybe, in a stasis or something like that."
Mors heard that in the main continent, there were some countries that had success freeze object in time. The news traveled across the three inhabited continents quickly since this was a great achievement.
'Did the crystal put them in stasis, then remove some of their memories? If so, then I definitely can't tell them.' Mors thought to himself.
Looking at Genn again, Mors carefully said, "I can not tell you about it, but you fell asleep for a day. I am—"
To which Genn exclaimed, "ASLEEP!? Ghosts can't sleep! And why can't you—"
This time Mors was the one to interrupt, saying, "do you want another day to pass? Because I don't."
After a second of thought, Mors saw all five ghosts appear around him again as Genn sighed, saying, "No, but we will try and figure it out ourselves."
"Ok then, just no passing out. I can't handle being lonely again. It's not fun," replied Mors with a sigh. He couldn't stop them, but as long as they were safe, he was fine.
With all the ghost's seeming off to do their own thing, Mors continued his travel up to Alice's house.
As he traveled, the ghosts looked around the city. How did he know that?
After they came back, he noticed that he could feel where they were. Not the exact location, but he could tell the direction and how far away the ghosts were.
Walking down the streets, Mors just took in the minor bits of nature around him with a happy tone. And time quickly passed as Mors reached Alice's stairs.
Traveling up the steps to Alice's house, Mors could already feel two ghosts in Alice's house, one by where he guessed the crystal was, and the other two super far away.
Quickly grabbing the key, Mors unlocked the door, and entered to find Afiero and Genn surrounding Alice asking a ton of questions, probably about what happened.
Coming in, Mors quickly said, "I am going to go look at the drying circle more," before moving to the bathroom.
Seeing Mors enter the bathroom, Genn felt worried. He decided to make sure about what he heard, as he asked Alice, "Did he really say the crystal did something?"
Alice, with a sigh, repeated the same answer for the 5th time, "Yeah, the crystal did something, and I made sure that he didn't tell me."
Worried, Genn quickly called over Spir. Mors might not be able to communicate with the ghosts through his thoughts, but the ghosts sure can.
Appearing out of the shadows, Genn quickly told Spir about what Alice said. Spir became worried as well and the duo quickly traveled towards the crystal to investigate it.
Originally they couldn't travel this far, but when they got out from Mors, "someone" traveled passed the normal barrier without noticing, and found themself able to move farther than before.
Feeling a headache thinking about her, Genn had to admit it was useful information. Quickly arriving in front of the original barrier, the duo quickly punched through it.
Back at the house, Mors started to feel a wave of fatigue pass through him. Thinking it was due to enchanting events, Mors decided to lie down and take a nap.
Back to Genn and Spir, they quickly arrived in the city center, with the crystal and the crowd. Diving through the crowd, the duo arrived in front of the crystal.
Staring at the crystal, Genn said, "still amazes me."
Different from the living, the ghosts could see the crystal as something else.
First, they could see the symbols. All the symbols. The hundreds and maybe thousands of weird glowing symbols floating.
Secondly, they watched as strings of light seemed to enter the mass of symbols and lines, before being eaten up and spread around.
Third, they could feel nature changing in the circles. After dying, Genn and the others noticed all the elements around them. All the weird and enormous elements that filled the world around them.
It was like they were blind when they were alive, and now they could see. Instead of the weak elements they used to feel, they could practically see the elements floating around.
Feeling that dense elements, Genn even tried moving the elements when Mors fled from that hill troll.
Feeling the intense elements, Genn could only think, 'it's a lot stronger than the elements on the Hill trolls back... maybe I could--'
Looking at the crystal, and deciding to try, "Haste."
The same word he used before.
But instead of reacting like he expected, Genn just watched as the wind picked up around the crystal. Nothing else.
The stream of elements entering the crystal didn't change or even flinch.
Quickly, Genn told this to Alferio since he was the person with the closes knowledge to enchantments.
"Ok, first of all, even though I know alchemy, I much at all about enchantments. Different categories, my friend," replying with a huff, Alferio shook his head in Alice's house.
Then further communicating, Afiero theorized, "But from what you have told me, it seems this thing is drawing its own elements directly from nature. Some potions did this, and were famous for their abilities."
Back at the crystal, Genn and Spir looked on unsurprised light in their eyes. For this crystal to put the ghost to sleep, it would have to have some miraculous effect.
But it was at that moment that the crystal seemed to shine a bit. Looking over, they saw circles and symbols begin to move, and new lime green strings of light entered into these newly moved enchantments.
Starting to feel a drawing wind around them, Genn and Spir quickly backed off from the crystal, and for Spir, the drawing stopped.
But Genn felt the crystal drawing him towards it. It was weak at first, but it quickly ramped up. Worried, Genn quickly traveled into Mors to hide, which was a success.
After Genn left, Spir decided to watch the crowd. From what he could see, they were enchanters. This was definitely an enchantment. It was also moving, and taking in more energy.
They would notice.
And they did, as all of them scrambled to grab every recording device they could. Plates of metal soon sprouted ink, and small bits of light entered.
Rambling to each other, Spir eavesdropped on the conversation to get an idea of what was happening. But in return, he got a lot of "its glowing" and "this is big."
Even a few "I can feel something in my stomach." Becoming increasingly annoyed, Spir decided to drop in on the closest person.
