"Cookie! Blaze! Get them!"
WOOF!* WOOF!*
Two wolves pounced at the horde of high beginner tier Skeletons and started massacring them.
Selene joined in the fray, decapitating all the skeletons in her way, As she ran through the stone brick hallway with torches on the side, nothing stood out except for the fact the dozens of skeletons blocking her way.
It had been a week since she returned back to her home country, Vitoten, in the capital of Aventus, named after the Imperial family.
Selene was still affected by her parting with Theo. Her family even questioned why she had such a grumpy attitude, but she refused to elaborate in embarrassment, she just told them to leave her alone, which surprised her family, not expecting their meek and obedient Selene was nowhere to be seen.
Selene was restless and pissed for the entire week, she would only drown herself in training or studying and whenever she had a chance, she would to some alchemy and create potions for her next objective
Which was attempting to conquer a dungeon.
She was in the second floor of a hidden undead dungeon on the backside of her mirror in her room
She presumed that it was left there by Lisa, because she was the only person she knew that would probably place it there for her and when she asked her father where they got it from, he mentioned that it was a gift from his close friend, reinforcing the idea that it was likely Lisa that gave it.
A new player would usually tackle this dungeon straight away after finishing the prologue in the neutral country and fail, multiple times.
People would later find out that Selene was meant to challenge the dungeon after training two years. Normal player would challenge it a month or week before they went to the academy. Veteran players who wanted a challenge usually go for it six months before going to the academy.
But Selene challenged the dungeon a week later, reason?
One was because she was at the Adept tier, which was the the tier Selene would usually have at the end of the two years if the player played the game right, Two Selene obviously needed to get stronger faster than the original, And Three, She was the person to challenge the dungeon, Selene wasn't her favorite for a no reason. She knew how to build Selene the best.
"HAH!"
SHING!*
After getting rid of the last Skeleton, Selene patted the two wolves that was sitting and wagging their tails in front of her.
"Good job, now return"
Cookie broke apart and returned into her shadow, while blaze turned into ashes and also sunk into her shadow.
"Phew, they're not strong, but having a lot of them come against you in bulk makes things tiring as sh*t?" Selene said as she wiped the sweat off her cheek.
After getting to the end of the hallway, a spiral staircase led Selene to another floor of the dungeon.
Selene took another deep breath before continuing.
This is where it gets serious.
What presented her, when she arrived at the floor, was an interior that was similar to a Palace hallway, but with excessive amounts of full body armor on both sides of the wall.
"Cookie! Blaze! Cover me."
Selene summoned two of the wolves she had and readied her scythe for anything unexpected that was bound to happen.
"Why does it have to be in the middle of the hallway?" Selene muttered as she slowly crept forward through the hallway, trying her best to be aware of her surroundings and move forward.
The mobs of this floor would only move when she reached the center of the hallway. They are temporarily invincible in the meantime.
She was happy that the dungeon didn't have the typical booby traps like collapsible floors, poisons arrows, gigantic boulders and other weird and convoluted traps.
The purpose of this dungeon was very similar to the Kobold dungeon Theo tackles. It was also an introduction meant to teach the player what to expect in dungeons. Well, with Selene, it was the hard way to do so.
In the Legends of Alethea was also a game where you select an activity to do in a span a day. There are three parts of the day. In the morning, lunch and afternoon. Evening would later get unlocked in the academy. You're forced to rest because you were always monitored in the beginning of the game.
From those three parts, you can train, explore different places, in the condition it was close by, you can study to up your intellect, spend time with other characters to increase favorability, make potions, craft items, if you learn blacksmithing and more.
And along the way there are hidden quests you can also take to use your time instead of doing repetitive activities previously. Main quest almost always takes up the whole day or consecutive days, because they are required to do.
The hidden dungeon is actually surprisingly can be skipped but it would be stupid. Every hidden piece is needed or Selene will die, there are no buts and skips
Selene could take it leisurely if it was in the game and skip the dungeon, because she's in the Adept tier, but the things she could get from the dungeon are too good to be skipped, every player even say, it's the reason she survives most of the events in the first half of the game and would also boost her later in the game, showing that the item is a requirement for any Selene main.
Who was she?
The best Selene main in the world. No other player has come close on beating her when it comes to playing as Selene.
After arriving in the middle of the hallway, a rattling sound came from the armor displayed closely to the wall.
Grrrr* Grrrr*
Selene's wolves sensed danger close and started growing at the rattling armor.
Whoosh!*
"Go Cookie! Blaze!"
The armor suddenly burst into life and swung the Swords they had in hand, sadly for them Selene's summons were there to intercept them.
Cookie and Blaze clawed the faces of the armors and decapitated them
They were Living armor, a type of undead. The ones here in the dungeon were shadow type living armor. They were possessed by dead soldiers of Vitoten, hence their shadow element, an extremely strong sub element of darkness that controls the shadows.
All of the living armor in the hallway that numbered more than a dozen were smack dab in the middle of Intermediate tier.
"Time to use spells, Flame barrage!" Selene chanted, raising her arms in the air.
Dozens of black fire balls emerged out of thin air and homed in to all the living armor in the room.
Boom!* Boom!* Boom!*
Consecutive explosions blasted in the hallway, fluttering Selene's hair in the air wildly.
After the smoke cleared off, she noticed only seven living armor remained for her to fight.
"Go deal with the last ones " Selene ordering ger summons
Selene charged at the opposite side to where her summons went, dealing three living armor easily with her Adept tier strength. The other four were also easily dealt with by her summons.
Selene called over her summons and petted them. Despite Blaze constantly emitting flames from its fur, Selene was able to comfortably pat it, as her summons could never hurt her.
"Phew, that was a bit harder but still a breeze. You two have to work more. Don't lose to these guys ok?" Selene said while still patting her summons on the head.
Woof!* Woof!*
The summons responded with a cute bark.
"Good, let's keep going"
Selene descended another floor and found herself once again surrounded by living armour this time instantly hostile towards her, they had shielders and archers this time, upping the difficulty by another notch.
"Go defend me! Buy me time" Selene ordering her summons to the front
The wolves pounced at the living armor, breaking through the formation of the living armor, serving as the perfect distraction for Selene.
Selene gathered her mana in her two hands and showed off a meticulous grin at the distracted
"Hahaha! You think you can block me!?" Selene laughing maniacally
"Explosion!!!" Selene shot out and shot a basketball sized black fireball at the horde of living armors.
BOOM!!!*
The explosion shook the entire floor. After the smoke cleared up, pieces of armor littered around the hallway.
Selene also blasted away her own summons, but she could easily summon them again with the use of her mana, so she wasn't worried that the two were caught in the explosion.
Selene blew air at her right index finger and smiled gingerly
"Adept tier, I love you"
Selene was stronger than the average Adept tier, because her fire attribute spells got enhanced because of Spartacus.
It also cost less mana to cast fire spells, showing how broken a person could be after beating a single chaos beast.
Selene was already adept at using fire spells, so having an increase enhancement on her fire spells made her invincible against any rank lower than her, even anyone that has a Rank higher than her wouldn't come out unscathed from the spell she just fired.
"I'll show Theo whose boss when we meet again, hahahah!" Selene laughed like a psycho as she walked through the destruction she caused.
