Ting!* Ting!* Ting!* Ting!* Ting!* Ting!*
"Damn, he moves like the actual Theo"
Theo dodged the thrust attack the clone initiated with brisk and minimal movement.
Theo went for a counter attack by spinning and kicking the person on the side, which ended up succeding. The other Theo was launched five meters away and tumbled a couple of times before standing up once more and persistently attacked Theo
"Light arrows" The clone monotonously chanted.
Oh it's starting to have a brain!
Dozens of light arrows appeared behind the clone, while also fighting Theo, which impressed him even though he expected this.
Let's also respond in kind,
"Light arrows!" Theo chanted with a smile on his face.
Theo also matched the number of light arrows the clone conjured, showing the immense amount of observation ability the current Theo had.
All the arrows both Theo and the clone moved and they moved fast.
Whooosh!!!!*
Ring!* Ring!* Ring!* Ring!* Ring!* Ring!*
As the light arrows collided with each other, the sound it made was akin to someone a distinct ringtone of someone in the modern era back in Earth, making it slightly comedic for Theo.
After all the arrows collided, Theo and the clone kept clashing against each other with their steel swords.
"I guess this guy can serve as my practice dummy, Kekeke" Theo mumbled with a sinister grin on his face.
Theo then retreated from the clone and streched out his left free hand.
"Fireball"
Theo fired a golden light fireball at the clone
Whooosh!*
Shing!*
"Alright good, Now let's add more! Fireball"
Theo launched a barrage of golden fireballs at the clone, which the clone sliced or dodged everything with ease. The clone, was after all at the beginning of Adept tier and this was expected when Theo didn't specialize in magic spells.
"Flame wave"
Theo swung his fire emitting blade and fired off a wave of flames at the clone. The clone ducked and dodged with ease and chraged once more at Theo
Ting!*
Theo however leisurely blocked his attack.
The spell's slow for someone his level, but good with dealings random weak mobs.
Theo then reminisced when he played as Selene for the first time, the spell greatly reminded him of the spell that the Agnir used during the opening of the fight.
Knowing Selene, she's probably beating Agnir's a*s to a pulp right now, though she's prbably having a harder time than I-!
"Woah!" Theo dodging in time before his arm got cut off.
I probably should stop playing around in battle, even if the guy's only in Adept Tier.
Theo almost got his arm severed because of his negligence. Even thoough Selene already warned him not to play around.
I guess habits don't easily die. Good thing Selene's not here to find it out...
*****
"Achoo! I feel like someone is talking about me...."
Selene was on her bed, bedridden, because of the backlash 'Reaper's call', that she used in her fight with Agnir the day before.
"Or maybe its another side effect of that stupid power up....." Selene said with a drowsy expression on her face
Knock* Knock* Knock*
"Lady Selene, may I enter?" Elsa's voice came through the door of Selene's room
"Come in" Selene responded weakly
*****
Sorry, Selene, one more experiment
Theo, finding another opening, Kicked the clone away again, giving himself time to change his equipment
Theo put away his sword and redied his black gauntlets he received from Spartacus, taking a somekind of martial art stances, people see in movies.
"Ignite" Theo clashing both of the gaunlets together
Whooosh!*
Golden flames ignited from both of Theo's gauntlets, brandishing the power of fire that the gauntlets empower. Theo's whole body started to tremble, trying to control the power of the pair of gauntlets.
"Kuh, I can't control the firepower just yet."
Whooosh!*
Cring!*
The clone went for a wide spin attack, but Theo promptly blocked him wit his blazing gauntlets.
"Hap!"
Theo pushed the person sword back and initiated a punch towards the clones face.
BAM!
The punch made a shockwave in the air and launched a beam of flames ten meters away from where Theo punched. The clone luckily dodged the punch by a slim margin.
"It takes a lot of mana as well. Using it in live combat is a no go!" Theo muttered as he went for a roundhouse kick
BAM!
"Oh sh*t.."
The clone blocked Theo's kick with his sword, cutting a part of his boots in the process.
"Yeah no. That was risky" Theo taking out his steel sword once again.
Boom!*
An intense boom power eanated from the clone, it was a skill Theo always used when he fought a stronger opponent.
"Looks like, its finally second phase! Sacrifice!"
Theo boosted his strenght to the peak of Astute tier.
"Sorry, playtimes's over Theo" Theo said in a serious tone
Theo sprang forward in a blinding speed that the clone barely perceived and started giving the clone a barrage of slashes from every front.
Ting!* Ting!* Ting!* Ting!* Ting!* Ting!*
All I need is one hit! He only boosted to the beginning of Adept tier! You got this Theo!
"HAAA! White Slash!" Theo imbuing his sword with holy mana
Whoooosh!
Wait! wha-!
TING!*
CRRRRING!*
He blocked it!? How!?
Whoooosh!*
BANG!
Theo was too shocked that he wasn't able to block the punch that the clone launched at him
"GAH!"
Theo flew and tumbled as he landed down meters away from the clone.
Don't tell me!
Theo could feel it, The clone who was menancly walking towards him was at the peak of Astute tier.
The Hard cap for this fight was Peak of Adept tier! How!?
What Theo was doing right now, was the trial of the worthy. His father, Lucian Ignatius, would personally take him to this trial whenever Theo, the player, reaches the peak of Adept tier after the first year of staying in Ignatius. Usually the player is still at the start of the Adept tier after going back to Virtus and you physically in the game, because the game's NPC would tell the player that he was too weak to travel around the mountains of Ignatius. His Father is also busy in that year that he was supposed to train, giving him no chance to try and just go there himself. A two day's travel worth of travelling might be a few minutes or even a minute for someone of the Pinnacle tier, but his father still had to wait half a day to a day for Theo to come out of the trial, because the prize still needs to assimilate with the body for that long
But real life was obviously different and the fact that he was of the Astute tier lessen the worries people had for him, venturing out in the wild. He also used the pretense of hunting to get closer to his goal and have Bennet accompany him and trick him, giving him the opening to go to the trial, which he suceeded.
Some players broke through the Astute tier after the first year of training and noticed that the clone would only copy and limit themselves at the start of the Adept tier, even if they used sacrifice, the clone would usually end up only being in the peak of the Adept and at most the beginning Astute tier.
The trial couldn't get any harder than that. Theo players usually sweep through the trial easily even if you only trained normally, making the trial not challenging whatsover by the time you tackle it a year later.
"Cough! Cough!"
Theo coughed out blood
"Sh*t, Another hit and I'm out"
The punch the clone made wasn't induce in mana or powerful enough to blow a normal astute away, however Theo used Sacrifice, resulting in him taking way more damage than what was intended. As Theo guessed, another direct hit would end or incapacitate him.
"I just have to deal with it. Ptui!*"
Theo stood up and spit a mouthful of blood from his nouth, this time he vowed to not hold back.
