"Those barriers made me use more mana than usual.... Stupid shadow mages" Selene complained as she kicked one of the robes that was slowly dissipating into nothing
Selene fought another horde of Living armors but this time, Shadow Mages accompanied them, which blocked Selene's explosion once, making her use another, draining her mana down to half of her original pool
"Still, everything is still the same as in the game. On Thanatos, if there is a stupid random enemy that would show up, I swear I'm going to riot" Selene, again, complained while going down to the last floor for the final boss.
Selene arrived in front of the gigantic boss door, she summoned her buff potions and started chugging all of them before she cracked her knuckles.
"Let's to this, Cookie, Blaze"
Selene summoned her two undead wolves and approached the double door.
"Nghhhhhh" Selene struggling to push the double door.
Selene was presented by a dark, empty room, impossible to discern what kind of room it was because of no present lighting, but one second later torches lit up in black flames from the pillars that weren't visible earlier, revealing a throne room of grand splendor.
Selene and her summons weren't the only ones in the room, there was a fully armored knight kneeling a few meters away towards an empty obsidian coloured throne, which had a gigantic black sword, that was almost two times Selene's height, embedded right at the center, that split the throne into two.
The knight looked to be hollow from the outside twitching. Black flames burst out from the openings of the Knight's black armor. Black flames swept across its back, acting as its cape and The plume on its helmet raged into flames that stretched down to the knight's waste
"F*ck that's so cool, but god*mn is this going to be a challenge.." Selene, trembling as she gripped her scythe in preparation to fight.
The Black knight rose from its feet, towering over Selene at the height of three meters, approached the throne with foreboding steps that clinked and reverberated throughout the massive throne room.
The knight grabbed the massive handle of the sword and pulled onto the embedded sword of the throne, a piercing sound echoed. It was as if the sword was crying in happiness that its master had finally placed it back to the rightful hands.
Shhhiiing!!!!!
The knight slowly turned around and gazed at Selene for a few seconds before, slowly lifting up its sword, beckoning Selene to take it on if she was worthy.
One more step and the boss fight will initiate.
The living armor inside the dungeon was one of the reasons why the dungeon was extremely hard, if you didn't have a weapon to pierce their armor or a spell enough to blow or damage their armor, it was basically impossible to tackle the dungeon, especially when there was dozens of them each floor.
But the biggest entity that gave the player the hardest time was the boss of the dungeon, Agnir, Knight of the Black Flame, and The traitor of the first Shadow Emperor and the second Dark emperor in Vitoten history.
Fun fact, if you disrupt the Knight's transformation phase, it will get stronger and turn the player into meat paste in a split second. Doing that would just be suicide. It was also only made possible to have
Waiting for it to finish the transformation sequence would result in him becoming in Astute tier, which Theo is at the moment.
Selene didn't have Sacrifice which could temporarily upgrade her strength to a higher tier, so what could she do to win this?
"Being a gamer!" Selene shouted and sprang into action and charged at the Agnir.
The silent knight replied by igniting flames on its sword and sweeping it across the room, firing off a wave of flames that would cover the entire room.
Selene dove to the right to take cover behind the pillar, dodging the fire that the knight fired out.
Whooosh!*
BANG!*
The pillar she was leaning on suddenly trembled. The knight threw another wave of fire, this time it was concentrated and more powerful.
Selene gave up on taking cover and opted for a confrontational strategy. She didn't want to use up all the pillars and potentially bury herself under a pile of rubble, which could happen in the game if you kept hiding behind the pillars.
"GO!" Selene ordering her summons to attack the knight from both sides
She on the other hand went ahead and confronted the knight face to face.
"Fireball!"
Shing!*
The Knight sliced the fireball in half, thinking it would dissipate, but exploded as soon as it came into contact with the sword, pushing the knight back a single step as well as covering the vision of the knight with smoke.
Woof!* Woof!*
The wolves broke into the smoke and bit two of the knight's arms to hold them in place, but with shake of its arm the knight easily tossed the two wolves from its arms, slamming them onto the closest pillars of the room.
"Black Slash" Selene muttered under breath as she pierced through the ghastly smoke, her scythe faintly giving off a deadly aura.
This, however, gave Selene a second of an opening to swing her mana coated scythe directly at the chest of the knight, giving it a gash on the surface of its armor.
The knight, after getting hit, reacted in blinding speed and swung his sword at Selene.
Selene hastily placed her scythe in front of her, blocking the sword from decapitating her. The force behind the swing was so strong, Selene flew across the room, landing on her feet half way through the room. Her hands bled, showing the sheer amount of strength the knight placed on his swing.
Sh*t..!
The knight didn't give Selene any time to breathe and charged at her ferociously and started swinging it's sword in a flurry of slashes.
Selene, with her dynamic vision and god-like reflexes, was barely able to dodge or deflect any incoming attacks thrown at her, blocking wasn't an option, it would likely lead her to her death.
Selene could feel it, she could only last another minute before she gets plummeted to the floor.
"Wind sprint!"
Selene dodged nimbly to the side with her boosted speed. The knight followed after her and swung its sword again, but Selene ducked with precision, making the sword land onto the pillar.
The knight pulled onto the sword. Sadly, for him it got stuck, giving another opening for Selene to damage the Agnir.
"Black Slash!"
Shing!*
Selene gashed the knight once more on the chest, giving it an X Mark on his torso.
This was the simple strategy people used to defeat Agnir and only strategy people could do to beat it. Overpowering it in any other means, but this was impossible.
Usually the player would use two fully broken pillars in the given amount of damage Selene has given, but with the debuffs on her physical body lessening, she could exert the normal strength of an Adept tier. In the game she could only muster strength of a sub tier lower than her.
Her mana also became more refined, because of her strengthened body handling her death mana well, giving her the option to slightly give her attacks death enchantment, which the usual Selene wouldn't be able to use until she strengthened her physique, which she did earlier, enabling her to have fearsome firepower, that could easily injure anything or anyone in the Asture tier.
That's also why she held off for a week, because she wanted to learn how to control death mana enough to use it in battle.
The knight gave up on trying to pull the sword and tried to kick Selene instead. Selene easily dodged this, actually expecting the knight to do that.
The knight then pulled the sword out after Selene backed away and once again charged at her.
"Alright! Let's keep this up!" Selene said with a carefree smile on her face.
"Impressive strategy"
Selene froze from the unexpected guttural and rough sound coming out of Agnir.
Did I jinx it? This wasn't in the game!
"I didn't expect that old hag would give the chance of inheriting his power to a little girly like you"
Agnir dragged his sword as he walked slowly out of the room, while keeping his inquisitive gaze at Selene, who was now shocked at the scene.
"I feel it, This is the last of what is left of my consciousness. I hope you give this knight the last fight that he would remember in his afterlife"
FVWOOOOOSHH!!!!!!!!
A wall of flames sprung up from both sides, blocking the view of the pillars of the throne room, preventing Selene from applying the same tactics she usually did in the fight against the Agnir from the game.
Don't tell me this is like Spartacus all over again!
"Last five minutes against me and you shall be the victor, oh little one."
