It was late around midnight.
Two guards above the city wall were conversing
"Have you seen the amount of experts walking around nowadays? It's insane. I've never seen so many in one place" a young soldier said to the older soldier
"Well the children of two of the most powerful people in the world are literally in that giant mansion over there."
"Well, more work for us because of it. Our night shifts have increased cause of them, I just want to spend more time with my wife and kids" said the younger guard in distraught.
"Hey, at least you're getting extra for your new shifts." Mentioned the older soldier
"I guess more-"
ROOOOOOAAARRR!!!!!!!
" What's that!?" The young soldier said
Both soldiers glanced beyond the wall where the roar came from. Hundreds if not thousands of monsters were flooding down the wide green field.
"Go ring the alarm!" Said the older soldier
"Yes!" The younger soldier ran towards the gigantic bell on the center of the walls.
.....
Knock* knock* knock*
"Young master, there is a dungeon break going on outside the walls. They are in need of my assistance, I will momentarily be gone, please stay in your room for the time being."
"I see, stay safe, Bennet" Theo said in a tired voice
"Of course, I will be back as soon as possible."
The reason why Bennet was not worried was because the room he was in was designed to deny access to anyone other than, who Theo deems a companion and someone to be trusted. This was impossible to intrude unless one was Master and there was also a detection spells around the perimeter of the mansion that surpasses or is Expert, which would alert all of the guards Theo has and this applies to Selene as well.
And also perfect for both Selene and me.
The unfortunate yet fortunate distraction outside, an unknown expert tier dungeon began an event called 'dungeon break'.
A dungeon break usually happens because of a multitude of reasons, but the most common one is when a dungeon is unconquered or untouched by people for a long period of time, the accumulated mana unused within the dungeon would destabilize, commencing a dungeon break.
Hundreds if not thousands of monsters are then released from the dungeon as the barrier between the dungeon and the world.
This dungeon in particular was buried underground, meaning it was bound to inevitably initiate dungeon break.
Luckily for the city, the strongest forces of the continent had quite the sizable force stationed there.
There were zero casualties in the end, because of the extreme competence of the Expert tier Holy knights and Dark knights, that were led by Bennet and Elsa.
Theo got up from his bed and changed into the outfit he used during the Kobold dungeon dive.
The outfits they wore had a convenient self repair function and clean function, leaving no traces of battle for their attendants to be suspicious of.
Theo took out his trusty steel sword.
Theo took a deep breath, this was going to be a fight that was way harder than the fight he had with the Kobold Chief.
Some mistakes were fine when he was fighting the Kobold Chief, but the Red Beast was different, one mistake would end in both of them dying.
There was no chance to play around.
Theo opened the window of his room and hopped out. His room was only on the second floor so the fall was hardly a worry.
He sprinted to the back of the estate where the forest was.
He arrived at the entrance of the forest and waited for Selene to arrive.
After waiting another minute, she arrived.
"Hah.. hah.. Hey" Selene panting
"You didn't have to rush, we have more time in our hands than you think" Theo sharply pointed out
"I know, but I'm nervous..." Selene said as she leaned on a tree to rest for a bit
Theo on the other nodded in understanding.
He too was as nervous as Selene.
He would actually have to stake his life for the subjugation. Not a single mistake was allowed. Death will always be creeping, ready to reap their souls if they weren't careful.
Both Theo and Selene kept repeating the same thoughts over and over again.
'One mistake = The end.'
Selene took stood straight and nodded at Theo "I'm ready"
"Alright, let's get the ball rolling" Theo smiled and nodded
They jogged into the dark forest.
The moonlight was shining bright, so the forest was mostly visible to run into. They also didn't have to worry about any monster popping out as this forest was also part of the estate, any monster entering would be detected and hunted swiftly.
But what most people don't know was, that a sealed beast was resting in the middle of the forest
Theo and Selene arrived in front of the biggest tree in the forest.
"Now, all we need to do is touch it and we start." Theo said in a nervous tone.
"Buff potions first" Selene said as she summoned six potions out of her storage ring.
She gave one dark green potion, one orange potion and a light blue potion.
"One stamina booster, one strength booster and one mana booster potion of the lower tier" Selene said as she started chugging all the potions, one by one.
Theo followed after
"Ugh, taste horrible" Theo complained
"Shut up and deal with it" Selene said, wiping the blue liquid off her lips.
"We have fifteen minutes for the boosters, so we have to finish it by then" Selene explained
Theo nodded and both approached the tree. They placed their hands on the trunk and closed their eyes.
""We wish to challenge the child of the Red Beast of Chaos"" Theo and Selene chanted.
A bright red light consumed them.
They were teleported into a different place
The ground was barren and the air was smoldering, burning trees surrounded the proximity, they were a 100 meters aways but the heat radiating from the trees could be felt from where they stood. The sky was painted red and the moon was also shaded red, coloring everything below it red.
"This is ten times scarier and cooler in real life" Selene smiled wryly sweating.
The duo felt likethey were getting slowly cooked alive, as if they were in an oven getting roasted, preparing dinner for the Red beast.
"You're right about that and look who's coming by '' Theo glaring at the figure approaching between the burning trees.
Thud Thud thud
A world with fiery red fur came out of the burning trees. It was five meters tall and 10 meters in length. Its black sharp claws gleamed under the red light. Its mouth dripped with drool, seeing Selene and Theo as its meal. The drool sizzled as it dropped, indicating that the beast was in tune with the fire element.
AWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Red beast howled, the area ground slightly shook and forced Theo and Selene to cover their ears in fear of their eardrums bursting.
"This might be the worst mistake, we've ever diecided" Selene glaring at the Red Beast, her body inevitably trembling from fear.
"If we're about to die, I'm smacking you before my last breath" Theo sarcastically said, readying his sword
"Hah! right back at you!" Selene taking out her scythe.
The red beast was in the midst of breaking through experts, a pseudo expert.
Selene and Theo felt it, a single clean hit from the Red beast will be the end of them.
