The Red Beast, the fiery wolf, served as one of the initial optional bosses that players could confront. However, certain characters, such as Selene, required defeating it; otherwise, she would remain significantly underpowered and vulnerable, leading to early demise in the game.
Typically, players tackled the Red Beast when Selene and Theo reunited at the estate before heading to the academy. Alternatively, players engaged in the battle during their first summer vacation if they had formed a friendship with either Selene or Theo.
It was also, usually impossible to party up with anyone in Selene's or Theo's prologue, this means coming back two years later stronger and bringing over other characters was the only option.
They fought the red beast early, because it was reality and Theo and Selene believed, with both of them, they could contend with the Red Beast, because of their overflowing experience and knowledge they had beating the the boss during their plethora of playthroughs
The Red beast they were currently fighting was far different from the one they knew in game.
Theo couldn't blame Selene for panicking. The Red beast just took on a full blow from a Frost explosion of the Expert tier, which would've easily snuffed out its life, especially when its primary element was fire, a direct counter of the latter element.
"I thank mother for giving me a final chance to confront you both once more, in my human form" The red haired man said as he clenched and unclenched his fist.
There stood a two meter tall man, well built, brown skin, sharp red eyes, red spiky hair and he wore a gladiator outfit, which exposed his bare chest. He had countless scars on his body, including a giant crossed shaped one on his chest. His choice of weapon was the black gauntlets, which he clashed together in excitement.
"I might be far weaker than I was used to be, but it seems that I still have an edge in strength" The human form of the Red Beast grinned in excitement
Theo and Selene could sense it, He was only at the level of a regular Astute tier, but radiated an aura far beyond his tier.
Both of them could tell that they were no match for the red man in front of them, now that they basically exhausted all of their cards.
Theo believed that the sooner they finished their fight the better it is for their survival
Theo and Selene without saying a word charged at the red man, swinging their weapons with great vigor.
Sadly for them, The Red Man simply dodged their attacks with ease.
"Woah! Such fierce passion! You haven't even let me introduce myself"
The Red man took multiple steps back and introduced himself, slamming his right fist to the left side of his chest.
"I am the Red Beast and my human name is Spartacus. Name yourselves new children of chaos!" His voice echoing throughout the area, acting as if he was inside the colosseum way back from the past.
Theo and Selene glanced at each other and nodded approvingly at Sparticus' request.
"My name is Theodore Ignatius"
"My name is Selene Aventus"
Sparticus smiled, happy that both younglings respected his wishes.
"As your elder brother and senior, I shall tell you that the blessing of mother shall fade in ten minutes. You only need to hold me off for ten minutes and you will undoubtedly win."
When Theo and Selene heard this, a renewed sense of hope illuminated their eyes.
All they had to do was endure ten minutes and everything would be over.
"But!!! That's if you survive the ten minutes!-" Spartacus disappeared
Whoosh!!!!!!
"Selene!" Theo warned
"Sh*t" Selene ducking to dodge Spartacus' kick that was aimed at her head.
F*ck I can't see him
Selene couldn't grasp Spartacus' movement. She only knew to dodge because of Theo's warning and her body screamed for her to duck.
Theo took this chance to swing his sword at Spartacus but was blocked with the black steel gauntlet Spartacus had.
Ting!
Selene took this chance to swing her scythe from below but it was also blocked by Spartacus' other hand
Ting!
"Impressive teamwork and coordination. But lacking in power." Spartacus commented disappointed
Spartacus kicked Selene from under and pushed Theo's sword away, almost unarming him.
Cring!*
"Sh*t" Theo exclaimed
"Gah!" Selene tumbled five meters before fainting on the spot.
"Selene!"
"Worry about yourself, child!"
Spartacus threw powerful kick at Theo, landing a solid blow on Theo's stomach
"Gah" Theo clutched his stomach in pain
"It seems you're not as beat up as that lady over there."
Spartacus started throwing multiple kicks and punches at Theo, forcing him into a defensive position.
Because of how tired Theo was, he barely dodged lethal blows, but was hit with lighter blows from all sides. It still accumulated over time.
Theo couldn't use 'Sacrifice Lifeblood' consecutively, if he did, he'd die instantly. His body was already at its limit, activating the skill already places extreme strain on the user's body. Theo doubted that his normal 'Sacrifice' could even work as well.
Two minutes of hell passed and a voice passed through his head.
How the hell am I supposed to beat him! He's too skillful and I feel like my body will collapse before the ten minute mark!
Theo was glad that Selene wasn't dead. A part of him believed that she died from Spartacus' kick.
She's one of the best players back on earth after all, her sheer will is endless!
"What's this? Missy is still awake...!" Spartacus said with an astonished and impressed smile.
Theo, finally, after being on the defensive, swung his sword aggressively at Sparticus.
Theo was determined to give Selene the four minutes she needed no matter what, so what else could he do but endure and be a wall that she needed?
" Yes! Yes! Those eyes and movement! That strength and that passion! Show me more!!!"
Theo, a genius, wasn't simply taking hits from Spartacus, he was observing him like last time in the third phase.
In that two minute period, Theo was able to read through Sparticus movements and counterattack him with unrelenting will.
Put everything on the line!
"Haaah!!"
Theo was relentlessly barraging Spartacus with everything he had.
"HAHAHAHA!!!! Good! Good! Mother was right to give me the blessing! You are worthy!"
Blood was dripping from Theo's right hand from all the strains swinging his sword, and deflecting and blocking blows.
Blood was also sliding out from his lips and nose, because of how much strain he was placing his body through.
On the other hand, Selene was punching her unmoving and shaking legs to move.
F*ck f*ck f*ck!!! Move! Move! Move!
She gave herself four minutes, believing that she could recover enough to help and join Theo to overwhelm Spartacus, who was fully read by Theo.
She was also observing so she had a gist of what she could do if only her legs would listen to her.
Because of the three buff potions she used earlier, she couldn't use another, because it would only damage her body further, potentially killing her right then and there, making her use obselete.
She could only try to use her willpower to stand up and fight.
"Give up missy! Your legs, as it is now, are done for! Hahahaha!!" Spartacus shouted mockingly.
Spartacus saw Selene and laughed like a psychopath as he continued landing blows on to Theo
"HAAP!"
"Gah!" Theo backed off after getting punched on the shoulder
"Your getting weaker boy! And it looks like girly won't be able to fight anymore!"
Not like this!
Selene saw Theo losing momentum, he was also clearly at his limit. Especially when he saw Selene struggling to stand uo.
Selene saw him getting pummeled by Spartacus mercilessly.
She promised him four minutes, but she knew that she couldn't see it happening. It was just physically impossble.
It was as if all the paths to victory crumbled down right in front of her
The world in her eyes grew dimmer and dimmer
But, she remembered. She remembered the vow she and Theo made under the moon
She bit her lips in frustration and pushed her body to take action.
I have to do something! Theo needs me!
Huh?
A soft voice whispered in her left ear.
A gentle wave of warmth surged through Selene's body
The world felt far clearer than before.
What?
What surprised her even more was that the sensation on her legs returned
A reddish pink line glowed from her left hand, seamlessly connecting it with Theo's right hand.
She instinctively felt her connecting with Theo through the link they shared as both of their heart sigils let out a radiant sparkle.
She felt his emotions, his pain, his struggle against fighting a stronger foe, and his desperation on giving Selene the time she needed.
She felt extremely emotional, almost wanting to break down and cry then and there, but she knew she couldn't betray Theo's expectations.
Theo, on the other hand, also felt a link that connected Selene and himself.
He felt her emotions, her pain, her struggle to move despite the pain, and her desperation to live up to his expectations.
He felt his vision getting blurry but at the same time more determined than ever, he felt like he could use 'Sacrifice' one last time and so he did, giving the final push to end it all.
"SACRIFICE!" Theo screamed
Every fiber in his being, that the power he received could only last him five seconds, but it was enough because-
BOOM!
"What-!?"
-Theo felt it, he was about to go through a breakthrough!
TING!* TING!* TING!* TING!* TING!* TING!* TING!*
In those five seconds Hundreds of blows were exchanged, blood was spilled from both sides and Theo actually had the edge this time. As the clock ticked to the final second, Theo hardened his grip on his raised sword as he flexed his muscles, taking his final swing.

"HAAAAAHHHH!!!!!!!!!!"
"By the Chaos....!"
Spartacus tried to block Theo's attack, but the sheer amount of force and power, he was unable to block Theo's attack.
Shlick!
BOOM!
Plop
Theo with his bloody mess of a right arm dropped to his knees. All the strength his body was placed on that one attack. He could no longer take another step forward.
After the smoke cleared from the explosion Spartacus appeared with both of his arms missing, they were sliced off, laying on the ground bloodied.
"Impressive, boy. You broke through and attained Astute, but sadly it wasn't enough."
Spartacus shaked his head in disappointment.
"You would have had a chance if you both came two years later, when all my intelligence disappeared"
Spartacus peeked at Theo, expecting the face of despair.
But Theo's expression alarmed him, because Theo wasn't wearing the face of a defeated man, Theo was wearing the biggest smile on his messy and bloody face.
"F*ck you" Theo exclaimed
"Wind Sprint"
Whooosh!*
Shick!*
Selene pushed the scythe deeper into Sparticus' chest.
"Gah...!"
"F*ck you" Selene exclaimed, as she pulled back her scythe.
