Chapter 7 - Heavenly Thunder First Movement

Aizen came to the Knight Division building with the admission paper in his hand. Before parting ways with Milo and Nathan, he asked Milo to let him know if something unusual happened in class or if there was a fight between students.

However, it was Nathan who replied with his enthusiasm to maintain class tranquility and harmony.

And Aizen had to warn him not to cause unnecessary trouble because of that. He also asked Milo to keep an eye on Nathan.

Although confused as to why Aizen would ask such a thing, Milo and Nathan complied without asking and returned to Class 10.

On the other hand, Aizen arrived at his new class. He entered Class 3 of the Knight Division. The last class of a total of three classes in the department.

The class of the Knight Division was completely different from the class of the Mage Division.

The class was quite spacious, with an area of 20 meters x 20 meters and high ceilings. There were no chairs or tables in the room because it was a training ground with quality stones to withstand the rigorous training of the knight candidates.

'Right. This is the perfect indoor practice room. Whether in the past or now, they are still the same. I will fully train here. And make full use of all the facilities and tools.'

"My name is Aizen, and this is my entry permit in this class."

Aizen said while handing the proof of acceptance to the class instructor in charge.

The instructor was called Ainkrad. He had an ordinary appearance, with a height of about 183 cm and a muscular body.

Ainkrad frowned when Aizen came and when handed the piece of paper, he looked at it intently as if he couldn't believe what he was reading.

Meanwhile, the attention of the students in the training ground was drawn to this short, thin boy with dark skin and blue eyes.

"Look, there's a new kid with white hair. Hahaha!"

"He's like my grandfather at home!"

"Hahaha. That's right! He looks like a frail old man with that stature."

Aizen could hear the pretense but ignored it. To him, it was just the chatter of a group of children who didn't know hardship and violence.

It was also the same with Ainkrad. He heard them but didn't bother to stop them. Even if there was a dispute between his students, he would have them settle it with a duel at the training ground instead of stopping them.

Only in that way would a student be able to become a true knight.

They would become fine warriors with great effort, competition, strife, and intense training!

That was how Ainkrad taught his philosophy to educate the students, who intended to reach the level of an apprentice knight.

"You can do whatever you want first. We'll be doing the next training in 15 minutes."

"Yes, sir," Aizen answered firmly and continued to immediately turn around, walking to the side of the center training ground.

Ainkrad was slightly surprised when Aizen answered in the customary military fashion. In this era, the military-style no longer prevailed within the knight school. The main focus was a tough fighter. So, he was a little surprised that the boy adopted such an attitude.

Moreover, on the permit paper he held, Aizen had the status of being a student of the Mage's Division as well.

'This is a strange boy! Already in the Mage Division class. But, this kid asked to enter the Knight Division.'

He didn't understand Aizen's reasoning and started to pay no attention to it. For him, a scrawny kid like that couldn't survive in this Knight Division class.

Conversely, Aizen walked halfway. And then several kids stood up and came towards him as if blocking his way. He didn't mind and dodged to the side.

However, several children who were almost as tall as Ainkrad did not let go of Aizen. They followed Aizen's lead and started to block his way again as well as nudging him lightly.

Aizen chuckled and fell because of the nudge. After all, his body was small and thin. So being nudged by a big boy, he would not be able to maintain his footing.

Ainkrad let that happen and was still monitoring what the students were going to do with the new kid.

"Heh! You little brats are pathetic. Hehehe."

Aizen said while laughing with a giggle. He got up and walked over to the weapons cabinets, which were outside the training ground arena.

Not a single boy stopped his steps this time because of his crazy giggles.

"This is the knight class, isn't it? Why are you still acting like a cowardly brat!? Grab your weapons and face me. One-on-one!"

Aizen said loudly and then kicked the lower end of the wooden stick, causing it to spin in the air up to his shoulders. He then caught the wooden rod and rested it on his right shoulder.

"Why? Didn't anyone dare in a duel? Were you guys taught to gang up on someone smaller than you, huh!? Answer me, bastards!!"

Aizen screamed and especially empathized with his last sentence because the kids' behavior was making his patience run out.

He felt the boys were taking too lightly what it was to be a knight. He also considered those brats to slack off too much without ambition and will to fight.

If it was like that, then they wouldn't be ready for the era of war that might come in the future!

At the same time, the corners of Ainkrad's mouth curled up at Aizen's words. He felt amused that the new kid was the one who said such words rather than the new students who had entered the Knight Division from the start.

Some of those students were certainly offended by Aizen's request for an open duel. They immediately ran towards Aizen, intending to beat him up.

However, Ainkrad spoke first, stopping the students from doing anything.

"Are you guys not embarrassed enough just yet!?

"That kid might be smaller than you guys, but he dared to declare a one-on-one duel without any other conditions!

"What made you afraid to accept the challenge!? Huh!!? Didn't you enter the Knight Division to become a formidable fighter? Then accept the challenge!!

"In chivalrous philosophy, there's no teaching about ganging up on someone!"

"But, teacher..."

"Enough! Now return to your places and immediately make a choice. Accept or reject! I will be the referee here.

"Also, remember this! In the future, if there is any disagreement between you guys, regardless, settle it with a duel with me as the overseer!

"Engrave that in your heads as the main lesson of your first day. End of my wisdom, now let's begin the battle."

Aizen was already in another position in the training ground arena holding his wooden rod. Meanwhile, the students who had bullied him earlier still glanced at each other, hesitating about what to do.

"Let me do it!" Said one of the students. His name was Ayduin Torrel, 179 cm tall and the same age as Aizen. He then took out a wooden sword from a weapons cabinet near the crowd of students from the class.

Aizen stood in a ready position, with his left leg slightly wider and ahead of his shoulder and his knee slightly bent. He had a wooden stick in his right hand, held with a spear-like grip. His left arm was stretched forward, and the stick was pointed directly in front of him. His eyes were focused and determined, and he was ready to use the stick to defend against any potential attack. His body was tense and ready to react quickly, and his grip on the stick was strong and secure.

"Heavenly Thunder First Movement, Spear Arc."

Aizen muttered in a low voice. Even though he couldn't use Reeva's power, his fighting skills and experience were still imprinted in his head and soul. And when he exhaled the first breath. The atmosphere around him immediately changed drastically.

And no one noticed that, except Ainkrad. As a tier-9 Knight, he knew the air around Aizen well. It was like seeing a veteran fighter on the battlefield.

'There is no opening at all!'

Aizen's position may, at first glance, look like one with many openings. However, it would be proven wrong when an opponent attacked and entered the covered area. And it was just as he predicted.

Ayduin rushed forward carelessly while swinging the wooden sword, relying on his large body and heavy slashes.

Aizen didn't do much of anything and just thrust his wooden stick quickly and precisely without wasting any effort or movement.

Unexpectedly, Ayduin fell and sat confused. His wooden sword also slipped from his hands, and a moment later, he felt a slight tingling in his right shoulder.

Aizen didn't cheer and kept his position the same. He continued his second breath, and the pressing atmosphere around him expanded slightly.

He used his right leg as a propulsion supplier and also as a pivot, while his left leg and arm acted as a generator on the front. It was exceptional and allowed him to extract and change position in a fraction of a millisecond. And it made the covered area encircle 360 degrees of his surroundings, leaving no openings.
