Chapter 10 - First Magic Practical Lesson

Arman entered the classroom, and his eyes immediately landed on Aizen. Those eyes were filled with hatred as well as condescension.

But surprisingly, he didn't take any action and looked away after shooting those glares.

The corner of Aizen's mouth lifted. Everything went according to his plan.

Now in Arman's head, there were two people who needed to be taught a lesson. It was Aizen and Inkgrit. But unfortunately, due to the presence of the Aslan Empire's fourth prince, he couldn't do as he pleased.

Arman had a high sense of pride. So, he wouldn't want to confront Aizen and Inkgrit as long as Nathan was around.

That was because he knew that the fourth prince would stop his rampage and he couldn't help but obey!

It was something he hated so much. His image and authority in Mada City, which had been established so far, would collapse if he could do nothing against the imperial bloodline.

He was a spoiled child that always protected by his father. Not even a descendant of the high nobility could do anything against him in Mada City.

"Hey, Aizen. I think I saw Arman looking at you resentfully. Didn't you say he won't bother us anymore after you got beat up so badly earlier?" Milo asked while getting worried.

"Heh! You don't need to worry. What he's after is me. You can take it easy on that."

Milo breathed a sigh of relief after hearing Aizen's comforting words.

Meanwhile, Nathan chimed in enthusiastically, "Big brother, there's no need to worry. As long as I'm here, I'll protect you!" While patting his chest as if proud of his intention.

Aizen cast a tired look at Nathan.

'This brat still thinks he's a hero who acts dignified, even though he was the one who couldn't protect himself!'

Again, as Aizen had previously said to Inkgrit, an act of help was great. But if one just helped without looking at the circumstances and situation, that was tantamount to making things worse.

No one could guarantee that every aid would bear fruit. Because fruit sometimes tasted bitter even though it looked good and beautiful.

"Tsk! There's no need to mind my business. Just focus on your studies and my request.

"Besides, I only come once a week to this class. The rest of the time, I'll stay in the knight class. So if anything happens, look for me there."

So far, everything was in Aizen's grasp.

The fact that Arman was targeting him again was also part of what he did on the first day when he openly asked to change class divisions.

Although a spoiled child, Arman was a true mage to his core. Seeing someone wanting to switch from the mage class to the knight class would cause his sense of superiority to be taken down.

For him, Aizen was a disgrace that needed to be thrown away. And the hatred he felt exceeded his annoyance at Inkgrit's previous behavior.

That was why Aizen asked to transfer so openly, in addition to hoping that Professor Alexander would also smooth out the process.

In Raven Academy's school, students studying in two divisions simultaneously did not exist. Because apart from wasting money, it also disrupted the student's concentration on studying and pursuing their paths.

In any school in the Azure Realm, there was no place for learning like that.

Because mage and knight couldn't be one!

On the other hand, Aizen could comfortably study in two class divisions. Of course, it was because of Dante's intervention.

Suddenly, "Good morning, everyone." Said Dante, who had just entered the classroom.

He then snapped his fingers and the papers in the file he was carrying. All floated in front of the blackboard.

"This is the theory of incantation. You can read it while I will demonstrate it in front of you."

The papers scattered around the Class 10 students and fell right in front of them,

Next, Dante took out several Mana Crystals from the pocket of his long coat.

"Because some of you are still not at the Mana Conferment stage, then these items will help you to feel the Mana cast magic from your hands directly."

Hearing that, almost all the students immediately became excited. They agilely read the theory in the papers that were distributed and kept an eye on what Dante would do.

Dante then held a Mana Crystal in his left hand and raised his right hand in parallel.

"First, you need to feel the Mana of this crystal. You need to think of it like your blood. Think of it as a part of your body."

After explaining the first step, the Mana Crystal in Dante's left hand began to glow.

"When this item glows, it means you have successfully sensed Mana. After this, the process will be easier.

"As quoted in the paper, when Mana is sensed, you have to imagine the desired element and then manifest it through your mind and incantation."

Dante then cast a simple spell. "Magic of Fire, Ignite!" And a small ball of fire appeared, lit up, and floated in his right hand.

"Remember the steps I told you earlier. If you're sure you know that, you can try it. Don't worry. I'll guide you from here."

Dante said while clenching his right fist and the fire magic immediately vanished.

Many students were tempted and immediately rose from their seats. They wanted to try and couldn't wait to experience the magic for the first time.

Meanwhile, the students, who had already passed the Mana Endowment Stage, had no interest in advancing first. They had felt Mana and their bodies were already capable of absorbing it. So, they were only interested in the magic spell-casting part.

After all, the final performance should be the best, and only they could show it with a mana capacity above the students who had yet to reach that stage.

Dozens of students have tried it. Even though they have been guided by Dante, only a few could make Mana Crystals shine.

'Easy in theory. In reality, sensing Mana like one's own blood was difficult for those children. Adults are not necessarily able to do that either.'

Aizen thought while looking down ahead. He wouldn't be able to do that even after recovering Reeva's powers.

The most he could do with those Mana Crystals was just absorb the Mana in them. He could forget about casting magic spells with it.

Because someone, who had made a pact with a spirit, would not be able to use Mana for random magic.

The magic used would follow the trait of the spirit. That person couldn't use other magic no matter how much Mana one had or absorbed.

That was the downside of getting magic power from spirits, even though the power would be steady and bigger than an ordinary mage.

Moreover, his body was also not fated to be able to cultivate magic. If it wasn't for Reeva, he wouldn't know how Mana or magic was. It was also the reason he got stuck at Apprentice Knight without being able to advance to Knight before meeting Reeva since he couldn't use Mana Aura.

"All right, next?"

After the students, who were overly excited at the beginning, finished, it was the turn of the students who could be considered gifted from the talented.

A student with a height of 178 cm comes forward. That student had dark brown hair and styled it in a short spiky cut. His hair was swept to the side and spiked up, giving him a cool and edgy look.

Aizen certainly knew that student. The renowned dual-blade sword user, Theoden Ailwin!

Theoden would later become a Genesis Knight rather than a mage. The highest rank in the knight ranking system. But that would happen later. Because right now, he was a person capable of using magic.

Theoden held the Mana Crystal in his left hand. And without Dante's guidance, he managed to make it glow.

He paused for a moment to achieve the manifestation and continued to perform the incantation.

"Magic Of Darkness, Black Sword!"

Everyone in the class was shocked when they saw a black particle break through the air and form a blade of elements above Theoden's right hand.

The moment the Black Sword was fully formed, there was a sudden suction that caused the classroom to be engulfed in a gentle wind.

That caused interest in Dante. 'It's a magic spell that I didn't write down on the paper. Besides, the Ailwin family has always used light magic for generations. And black magic is the opposite of that magic.'

But before he thought about it any further, the suction power of the Black Sword grew stronger. It made a mess in the class by blowing away the students' papers and books because the wind was getting stronger.

'Dangerous! I need to stop that.'

Dante was caught off guard and struggled to form a seal with both hands.

Why? Because black magic and light magic were two elements that could not be neutralized carelessly.

'Crap! I'm late!'

Amidst the panic, Aizen jumped from his high seat at the back of the classroom. He then quickly clasped the Black Sword with the special ability of a Genesis Knight.

"Nullifiers!"
