Everyone looked at Grace after that. She had no special expression on her face. Rather, Lily was a bit surprised as she heard it for the first time. She also turned sideways and looked at her sister. Grace finally smiled politely and told them.
" Don't worry Aunty. I already knew about this. I have no problem at all. It's not like I am marrying temporarily. I have the intention to keep it going forever. Otherwise, I would just date him instead."
Hearing that, Ava chuckled and everyone else smiled. Only Lily was still serious and thinking about this all. Then Grace spoke again.
" I wanted to ask this. How many guests would be there at the wedding? From both sides?"
After discussing, they ended up with nearly a thousand or so guests. Grace gave up.
" Why were you asking?" Ava asked.
" I don't like crowds but it's okay. I guess this time I can't avoid them."
" That's true but you can go back earlier after greeting the important guests. The party would likely go on till another day but you can rest early."
" Yeah, I guess I will have to do that Aunty. Thank you for your co-operation."
Finally, since they finished talking, dinner was served. There was a good atmosphere in the air. Everyone talked and discussed important things. After that, they had some desserts and finally bid goodbye and went home.
In the coming month, they got busier with things. The elders were busy preparing for the wedding together combining the best resources. They arranged a cruise ship to travel to the island from land. Then they invited the best chef and like that, they were busy.
Since the parents were busy, the workload fell on Grace's shoulders so she got busy in that. She would occasionally be called out by her mother to shop for her stuff. Lily would also accompany them and spend time with her sister. Though she wasn't fully convinced, after hearing Grace say that she wasn't marrying for fun and planned to stay together for as long as she lives, she realised that her sister was serious even if she is not in love yet.
She wanted to ask more about her brother-in-law to be more assured but she never got the chance as Grace is always so busy. In the end, she had to ask her mother.
Their wedding dresses were custom-made by a famous designer and they were matching. Since Hunter wasn't there, they took his measurement from the clothes he left behind. Everything went on perfectly. Grand preparations were going on.
A week before the wedding day, the wedding invitations were printed. They were sent out all over. Though there was a risk of Hunter being delayed, Luke knew that there was a very small probability of that happening.
Hunter's mission was already successful and the thing that delayed them should also be wrapped up. Either he would be back with some news about terrorists or they would have lost the clues. But there is a very low risk of him getting hurt or being attacked.
Grace and Hunter were both so busy in their places that they didn't keep track of time. Grace was either working or shopping for her wedding stuff as her mother dragged her along. Other than then, she was only free when she eat or slept.
Hunter was busy getting information about the terrorist groups. They were sent on a mission to save a hostage and they successfully did that. The hostage, unfortunately, got hurt but in the end, they were saved. But in that mission, they got a clue about the terrorist organisation.
They found that there might be a hideout there. However, the headquarters were more important that a hideout. So they were out to get information about the headquarters of the organisation. But they only knew about the hideout yet.
So without attacking, they returned with the location and information about the hideout in that area. From the looks of it, that hideout was small and Hunter's team needed rest as some of them were a little injured.
So another team would be sent out to attack that hideout. Hopefully, if they get some information about the headquarters from that hideout, they would be able to destroy that terrorist organisation. Of course, that would be a very dangerous operation but that's what they always do.
Just like that, time passed and Hunter reached the country three days before the wedding. His father instantly got the news and informed everyone of that. Ava and Grace's parents were all relieved to hear that.
Hunter had to stay in the military camp for almost a day to report the missions and the information that his team found. So he reached home at dinner time. They had dinner together. Ava and Luke wanted to talk to him about the wedding things but seeing that he was so tired, they suggested that he should take a really good rest so that from tomorrow he can prepare for the wedding as that would require a lot of energy.
Hunter also gave invitations to his team. His two best friends were in his team. He already told them about his marriage and now that it was fixed, he send them the invitations. Finally, he had time to relax and fell asleep.
The next day he woke up and the two days passed so quickly that he had no time to think. And the third day he woke up, it was Saturday. His wedding day. Things were happening so fast that he was flabbergasted yet somewhere deep inside his heart, he was very happy. He was excited and happy.
He felt like he could leave the past behind and start a new life. A marriage is a new life given to the couple. He wanted to live it well without leaving any regrets behind.
