Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: He Deserved Grace.

Grace messaged him at midnight. She usually stays awake until midnight. So before going to sleep, she left him a message.

" I still agree to marry you. But I'll only say one thing, I can't tolerate betrayal. Even if our relationship is not based on love and might never be, once you marry me, know that I won't tolerate any kind of betrayal. I also don't like to be deceived. Even if they are small matters, it would be better to come clean.

I am not an emotional person. I have certain morals I abide by. Other than that, I love my family very much. They are my priority. Especially my little sister. I love arts. I love painting. I am introverted and have a cold personality. I am indifferent to a lot of things. I am marrying you but you can't accept too much from me.

So I also suggest you think twice before stepping into this marriage. This is who I am. If you still agree after all, then let's meet tomorrow morning for breakfast. If we are really going to get married, I think we should know each other."

Then Grace went to sleep. Hunter woke up at 5 in the morning. When he saw her message, he was shocked and felt something inexplicable. He couldn't describe his feelings.

He quickly replied back. A gentle smile hung on his face.

" It's my honour. Let's meet at the cafe at XX point at 8 am."

Grace got up at seven. After bathing and changing clothes, it was already 7:30. That's when she saw Hunter's reply. She saw there wasn't much longer until 8 pm. She was already dressed so after taking a trench coat, she took her car keys and mask as she went out.

Driving her Audi R8, Grace reached the cafe right on time. As she entered, the doorbell rang. She went to the counter. The waiter asked her.

" Can I help you, Ma'am?"

" I am meeting someone here. Hunter Ally."

" Okay. He's in room no 5. I'll take you there Ma'am."

" Hmm. Thank you."

This was a high-end cafe. There were private rooms available too for privacy. When they reached the door of room no 5, the waiter said politely.

" We're here Ma'am. Go ahead."

" Yeah, thanks."

" I was doing my duty Ma'am."

After that, the waiter left. She was just wearing tight black pants with a white shirt and a brown trench coat. Her ash grey hair suited her unique beauty that was one in the world. And her light golden eyes which were like a mirror of gold contracted when they contacted with his grey eyes.

Grace gently opened the door. As she stepped inside, it was all empty. Confusion flashed in her eyes. She looked around and saw no shadow of everyone. Just as she thought he might be running late, her phone rang.

Hunter arrived 15 minutes earlier and waited for her. He has to report to the military at noon. It took him half an hour to drive here and going back, it would take him nearly two hours to drive to the camp. So he came in his military uniform. He would meet her and have breakfast before going back to bid farewell to his mother. Then he will take off and reach the military camp.

His cap lay on the table. He had a fade buzz cut but his upper hairs were not too short. They were thumb-length. He had a gifted face along with a sturdy body. He was very handsome. In the matter of looks, he deserved Grace.

However, just when five minutes were left until 8 am, his phone rang. He saw it was from the military and a complicated look flashed in his eyes mixed with a little sadness. He knew he most likely had to go instantly.

As expected, when he picked up, he was summoned immediately and he had to race for it. As he went out, he took the stairs as it was only two floors and the elevator might delay him. When he reached the ground floor, Grace reached the second floor.

He sat down and started his car. As he sped, he connected his phone to Bluetooth and called Grace. He didn't have free hands to message.

" Hello?"
