In the capital City M, in the military apartments...
A man in a military uniform and backpack stood in front of the best house in the military compartments. He pulled out his bag and let it fall on the ground as he took out his cap. His slightly tanned face with fresh little scars came into view.
It was midnight and there were barely any lights. Only streetlights shone. Hunter stood in front of his house for a long time before he finally entered the house. He had a small family. He only had parents. No grandparents or siblings.
He didn't want to wake up his mother. His father was probably not home yet as he seem busy with other work. As he entered the house, he directly ascended the stairs and went into his room without making noise as he didn't want to wake up his mother.
He put down his things and cap. Before changing, he first went out and went to his parent's bedroom. Then without making any noise, he opened the door and glanced at his mothers sleeping figure for a while. A small warm smile hung on his face.
After he closed the door, he went back and took a long bath. Finally, when he felt clean, he got out and changed clothes. After sorting out his things, he went to bed. He didn't sleep for long and woke up at dawn around five in the morning.
The reason was that he wanted to cook a healthy breakfast for his mother. As he was preparing things and looking for ingredients, their housekeeper who was also the cook woke up. She was a kind aunt and has been around since he was a child. She was her mother's caretaker and carries out the basic tasks of their house.
She was a trusted person and she was around his mother's age. When she woke up to cook, she heard noises from the kitchen and was a bit afraid. She carefully approached and looked inside. However, when she saw Hunter, she was stunned.
Then a big smile spread her face as she greeted him happily.
" Welcome back, Young Master!"
" Hmm. Good morning aunt Lisa. I will cook breakfast today. You can take a break today."
" I'll help you, Young Master."
" No need. Just tell me where are the ingredients. I want to make it myself."
" Okay."
Hunter got busy cooking. Lisa worked a little and went back to her room. At around 8 in the morning almost after three hours, Ava, Hunter's mother walked down. She was already bathed and active.
She saw a lavish breakfast on the dining table steaming hot. Usually, they eat light food for breakfast so she wondered what is the special occasion. She heard voices from the kitchen and walked towards the kitchen as she called out.
" Lisa, what's up? Why is the breakfast so... " She froze. Seeing Hunter, her eyes widened and she couldn't believe it. After all, she met him once a year for the past three years and that too at the military camp when she went there to visit him and his father. Most of the time he was on missions and even got injured a lot.
After more than three years, she saw him in the house for the first time. And he looked so grown up and mature. He was nothing like what he used to be before three years.
When Hunter heard her voice, he turned around and a beautiful smile spread on his face. He quickly took out his apron and wiped his hands with a towel. Her mother was still in the aftereffects of the surprise. He strode towards her and gave her a warm hug.
" I am back. Mamma."
Ava was stunned for a while but soon hugged him back tightly. Her eyes filled with motherly love went red.
" Hunter, you came home."
" Yeah, I am back."
After calming down, they sat down to have breakfast. Hunter made quite a lot of dishes which looked very appetizing. Looking at the dining table filled with dishes, Ava asked surprisedly.
" When did you learn to cook? How come you are so good at it?"
Hunter smiled lightly and replied to her.
" After enrolling in the military, I learned to cook. It's my hobby. It helps me relieve stress. I usually cook myself whenever I had time."
" You've grown up so much... " Ava said with a trace of nostalgia.
