Arvcan stared at the girl staring at him, he felt his stomach burn in anger, his brows knitted tighter than they were already were. He couldn't believe that she was the one they were forcing him to marry. She was beautiful, yes, that too on a high level but still she was not his type, moreso she was Greecian!
Those slimy dogs had proposed the peace treaty with ulterior motive, it was very likely that this Princess of theirs was being sent as a spy and now he was the one who would get tied down to her?
No way!
He refuse! There was no way he would get together with her.
Gwendolyn felt like burrowing herself into the ground. Strange enough, as much as she was shivering insides, she looked relatively calm on the outside, if you don't notice her pale knuckles and palpitating heart then you would never be able to tell that there was an ounce of fear in her heart.
"Can I borrow your Princess?" Prince Arvcan asked but it wasn't a question cause he immediately grabbed Gwendolyn's hand and began pulling her away.
Queen Jordyn's man wanted to follow them but he was immediately blocked off by Alex.
"They are soon to be couples, so we should give them a little space to familiarize with themselves" a wide grin was on his face as he said this.
Familiarize? Bullshit!
He of all people should know what could only happen between them. Prince Arvcan must have heard that their plans to rile the Princess up didn't work and so now he was going for Plan C.
The element of threats.
Alex pushed the worry away from his face, he only wished that Prince Arvcan would not make the things worse, if he does then the King would have their heads.
'Help! Ahh don't take me away!'
Gwendolyn was screaming at the top of her voice, her head was filled with her screaming voice but yeah that was where it ended... her head. Her voice was resounding only in her head, maybe her lips choose not to work as she was mortified. Prince Arvcan pulled her along with him and stopped when they were behind cornered walls and closed doors.
Being with him in a confined space only even made her more frightened.
"Prince Arvcan_" she started but was cut off.
"call off the wedding"
"What?" She was momentarily stunned.
Did he request that she called off the wedding?
Arvcan repeated in a commanding tone "Call off the wedding!"
Now Gwendolyn was even more confused, she thought he was in support of the wedding that was why the wedding preparations had gone this far. Following his rumored reputation, she believed unlike her, there was no one that would be able to force him into a wedding he didn't want or was she wrong?
"Why?" She managed to utter amidst her fear.
Arvcan scoffed "I don't know what you and your kingdom has planned but I would not allow myself to be used as a babysitter for a spy. So I am giving you the opportunity to call of the wedding yourself and save some dignity for yourself"
Gwendolyn felt slightly guilty hearing him call her a spy, though not willingly, she was really just a spy Queen Jordyn was sending to Rylica. Still even with the miniscule truth in his accusations, how would she just accept to be labeled a spy?
"I'm not a spy" She retorted.
"Do I look like I care?" Arvcan's voice grew cold and harsh "I refuse to be in a relationship with a Greecian! So call off the wedding!"
A Greecian?
So that was it? He was refusing to go on with the marriage because she was a Greecian?. Aren't things too easy for him?
How she wishes she could also cancel the wedding because he was a Rylican. Does he think she wants to get married to him? Not only was he a Rylican but he was a monster too! So what gives him the right to judge against her because she was a Greecian.
Seeing that she kept mute, Arvcan thought she was thinking about his offer. He uttered again "I'll give you sometime to think about it. By the time you return to your kingdom, I want to hear news of the annulled wedding"
He spoke confidently and began walking towards the door. His hands just rested on the door knob when her words stopped his actions.
"I can't" Arvcan paused and turned to look at the girl standing like a lone soul.
"What did you say?" An angry growl accompanied his words. Gwendolyn could envision the deep frown that would be on his face but she didn't turn to look.
She doesn't know where the courage came from, maybe from the thought of rejecting the marriage and endangering the lives of the kids. All the same, wherever it came from, she hastily used it to utter her words before she would swallow them back.
"I said I can't cancel the wedding" she repeated slowly.
Silence fell on the room and a strong atmosphere of tension accompanied the silence. The air dropped and a chilly wind began blowing from God knows where.
She didn't turn. He didn't move to her front.
Everything appeared to be static for a few seconds then...
"Hehehe" Prince Arvcan suddenly let out a cold chuckle, it last for maybe a minute but had sent Gwendolyn's heart on a relay race.
"I guess I wasn't wrong" he sneered.
About?
"Ahh!" Gwendolyn yelped in shock. She was yanked so suddenly that she almost lost her footing. Arvcan's grip on her arm could be mistaken as an attempt to break her arm. Now facing each other, she was pinned to the ground by his eyes. Looking into the greyish blue eyes, she didn't dare breath so loud from the fear of being noticed.
This man was drop dead handsome, all the Godly features one could describe but that wasn't the reason she was about to have a heart attack. Those gorgeous eyes had a way of inflicting pain on her soul.
"You won't cancel the wedding right? Well I won't want it any other way. Dear Princess let's get married then I'll give to you your desired married life." He said this with an evil smirk on his lip.
Still holding into her hand, he took one step at a time closer to her. Gwendolyn wished to move back but she was held in place by his arms and her fear. He walked up to her till his lips were resting on her ear.
The tingling sensation that contact brought but her heart had no luxury time to relish it.
"Marrying me would be the worst decision you would ever make. You can try to run but you would be mine forever and I would do you the honours of making our marriage life unbearable" with this he turned an stormed out of the room.
Gwendolyn's legs could no longer hold her, she crumbled to the floor like the London bridge.
