It had been ten days since his return yet Bladen had not stepped out of his room. He was sitting in the middle of his room cross-legged, meditating as it seemed. Scrouche and Drupal had not left the castle with others and had decided to stay where they originally belonged from. Their master had locked himself in his room and neither of them knew the reason behind this behavior of their master.
Finally, on the tenth night, the door to the room opened,d and out came Bladen who looked exhausted and piqued. Because of the way he seemed, none of the two asked the reason. Bladen was deeply irritated and disturbed by something but didn't know whom or how to ask. He had always been an introvert on speaking as his last resort, he hated conversations and usually spoke only to taunt his enemies, which he loved doing. Looking at the two standing there he blurted the first thing that came to his mind,
" Have you two been standing here for the time I was inside?".
This put a smile on their faces as the only thing they could think of was their Lord was worried about their comfort. Scrouche spoke in excitement, " yes my lord, but can we know what took you so long ?".
Without replying Bladen started to walk toward the center of the large hall. He then sat there in the lotus position and placed his right palm on the floor. Circular rings of aura started to expand from where the palm was. And then after about five minutes, the radiating circles had stopped and Bladen got up from his position as he turned around in a complete circle, the castle began to shake, but unlike before this time, some changes could be seen. The dimly lit castle was now brightly lit and furniture, paintings, shelves, and everything that once was in the castle started to appear, it was like magic. Then when everything was in its rightful place Bladen stepped a little back from the center and a beautiful structure started to immerse from the ground. After a while a single stone structure could be seen, a fountain made of single black marble stood there but something was different. A faint red glow could be seen at its head and a shower of blood appeared. No, this was no illusion or water that was colored red, this liquid was blood. Bladen finally had calmed down and now with a slight smirk asked Drupal to fetch three wine glasses from the shelf. Filling the wine glasses with blood, Bladen gestured for the other two to have a glass each.
Bladen started to move to the seating area where there were several thrones which were made with black wood and had a red cushion, except for the single large throne that was in the center head which was twice as big and magnificent, with the same black wooden work but with golden hemming and black cushion and a small red ottoman stool at the footing of the throne. Bladen took a seat at his throne and looked at the two hinting for each to have their seat. Scrouche took the throne beside Bladen on the right while Drupal shakingly sat on the left.
After taking a sip from his drink Bladen's expression changed to serious and finally he spoke his mind expecting any one of them who could answer his doubts.
" I don't have my powers as I used to. I am Weak"
He looked at the two expecting them to answer his single statement of concern. But as there were no words of wisdom from the two he closed his eyes in frustration.
....
After that incident, Scrouche and Drupal had been living in the castle but had been avoiding their grumpy lord who was behaving like a child who has a cavity and is told not to eat sweets.
'How long do we have to avoid him, master, he is getting more and more aggravated by every passing day, can we not help him ?'.
'I have been frequently visiting the castle library but still found nothing that can help us understand his condition, now only one place is left to check but I'm not sure if I should go there".
'Then let's go together, maybe we find something that can calm him down its been three days since he hadn't spoken a single word". Drupal's words had given Scrouche a little courage to enter the secret section of the library, where the books were chained to the walls and some were even making ominous sounds. But one book stayed as calm and composed and gave a little glow. Walking towards this book, a shiver ran down their spine and both looked at each other and then slowly moved forward. Scrouche took the book off the shelf and as soon as he opened a bright light appeared just a few seconds later he closed the bookkeeping it back and started to run towards his lord's room frightened for his life, seeing this Drupal followed running after him.
.....
Huffing and panting Scrouche entered the room in a hurry and seeing his face even Bladen did not say anything but was curious to know what had caused the two to behave in this manner. Not wasting another second Scrouche started to speak in a very serious but panicked tone,
" Lord, I read it, I read the Book from your father, it has answers to everything that happened to you while you were in slumber, or as we had been thinking. "
.....
Precious Bladen, son of Prometheus Bladen, was the first sprite to be born to a vampire family, but due to this, Perciveus had both genes in him. With time he became hungry for power so much that the Gods had to step in and put him down for good. He was tricked by the Messenger of the Gods that if he chose to go into slumber he would wake up with immense power and so in his desire, Perciveus chose to go into slumber. Prometheus and his wife Silviya knowing the truth their son would eventually die in his slumber and would never return decided to end their life too. A century later, Bladen's life force had died down and transformed into a red blood crystal and was hidden. As Bladen was an immortal, the crystal thus formed would bring him back, but the trickery of Gods was done, and due to his unnatural death, his powers had gone and only his real powers remained.
After two centuries of his slumber, a messenger of God came to Scrouche and gave him the crystal, informing him about how to use it, but also warned him to only use it when the situation was dire. He had told him that a prophecy was heard of in the Gods and because the prophecy had two sides just like a coin, they were afraid for the worst and therefore did not do anything or tell anyone, but the messenger knew that this might be the case and so he gave the crystal and has asked him to hide it. Thus the secret was concealed and no one knew the whereabouts of the crystal.
.....
With the truth revealed, Bladen knew what had happened to his powers. Now once again he had to gain his powers back or even become stronger than he was before. It was time for him to reveal a bigger truth to his two followers and his quest to become the strongest being to ever walk the earth began.
