While on the unknown planet Fiona and Flur were excited about their hunt, but the same could not be said for Scrouche and Drupal, they had never gone for a hunt and above all not at all on a different planet where they didn't know what kind of beasts they could encounter. They did not even think once that they were here to find a demon-tier monster.
....
The creatures on other planets were differentiated based on their brain development. The civilized ones were very hard to find and usually resided in different solar systems while the uncivilized ones were found on all planets. In the uncivilized were two categories divided on their strength, one was the beast, and the other was called monster. The beasts were usually like animals but far stronger and wielded a crystal core inside and had minimum intelligence. They usually followed chirocracy, where a single beast who was superior to all in strength would force others in the beast horde to follow them.
But monsters were not only stronger but also had far better intelligence, somewhat near to humans. A monster fed on beasts and absorbed their crystals to become stronger but they themselves had no crystal, instead, they had a soul that was a different form of energy found in living beings. The monsters had three categories known as king-tier, monarch-tier, and demon-tier. A single king-tier monster had the strength of a thousand beast rulers, a single monarch-tier monster had the strength of a thousand king-tier, and a demon-tier had the strength of a thousand monarch-tier.
...
Perciveus was walking at the front of the group leading them to the hunting grounds. He had come to this planet before, but it had been a thousand years since he had come over and the planet had changed a lot over the course of time. He expected that there will be some beast hordes and at least he would find a king-tier monster so that by defeating it he could get stronger.
He was not at least a mile away from where he had teleported and in the distance around five miles further, he spotted something in the west direction. It was a tower, that was so tall that it seemed to be piercing the clouds and he knew straight away that this was the place where he could find a monster as they were the only intelligent species in this solar system to build and live in structures, unlike beasts.
He turned towards the others and said," that's the place where we will be heading to. I must warn you that monsters aren't only strong but also have powers to cast illusions and sometimes can imitate the same power as you and so on. They are vicious creatures and they would not be easy to kill so it's your choice if you want to accompany me to the tower or want to hunt in the nearby areas."
"We will come with you, we know you are plenty strong without us but considering that we don't know the tier of the monster it would be safe to have a backup", Scrouche assured Perciveus that they all were ready for whatever came to them and would not back down.
Perciveus smiled at their dedication and started to lead the way again, this time maneuvering through the lands avoiding the craters filled with lava. Suddenly a few meters away from the group some wide cracks started to form. Out of one of the cracks, something crawled out. A human size spider came out that had two large pincers that were razor sharp and a total of hundred eyes that went all over its body, a single antenna-like structure could be seen that moved frantically in the air. The group seeing these creatures took their fighting stance and formed a circle for there were five such beasts all around the group.
"Fight them from a distance don't go near and try to avoid their venom", Flur warned.
All the beasts at once had taken one step backward that ended up giving their antenna momentum and from the top of the antenna, a spray was shot out at great speed. Scrouche had ducked to avoid the attack while Drupal used his shield. Fiona had slightly moved to the side and Flur was on the floor, it seemed like he was doing pushups. When every single of them had avoided the venom, Perciveus had the venom turned into a sphere that was levitating in his palm and the next moment he shot it back towards the beast sending him flying in the air and when he fell to the ground a large chuck of his body was missing or to be precise had dissolved from his acid-like venom.
Seeing this feat the others were lacking words but Drupal stared at Flur as said it loud, "you warned us of his venom but forgot to inform us of where it will shoot from."
Flur gave a sly smile and before they could have more words exchanged the creatures charged in. Perciveus had defeated his opponent but did not interfere with others as he wanted them to have a little warm-up.
Fiona had transformed her hand into a sharp claw and swiped her claw in the air with force. The attack could not be seen and it only felt like she swept in the air missing her opponent completely but in the distance, the spider creature had stopped and the top half of the body fell to the ground. It was as if someone had cleanly dissected the spider but no attack was seen on the outside.
Scrouche had thrown his axe while rotating it thrice in his hands to give a better speed. The axe had struck the spider creature right in the middle and the creature died in that very instance. Scrouche then held his hand towards the axe and suddenly the axe returned to the owner. Scrouche held his axe in one hand and then rubbed the palms of the two free hands to show that the job was done.
Drupal had taken his shield in his hand and now the shape of the shield had changed into that of a long bow. This was a magical longbow as there was no quiver to hold the arrows, but when Drupal pulled the string a glowing arrow appeared and shot out with great speed. while one would blink, Drupal had shot a total of five arrows at the creature and it lay there unmoving, probably one can say dead.
Flur was relaxed as if he could handle the situation blindfolded. He held his one hand out and from his two fingers that imitated that of a gun, a strong red lightning bolt shot out and the creature fell to the ground dead as soon as the bolt touched his body. After showing off his power he turned to see if anyone needed his help but to his surprise, everyone had already dealt and he was the last to finish.
After the group had dealt with the beast they started to walk toward the tower again. Perciveus knew that these were no normal beasts, they were scouts. Beasts attacked in hordes and not in small groups so this meant that these beasts were from the army of the monster that resided in the tower.
.....
"So there is a group of strong beings heading towards the towers. I see no reason to panic, they don't seem to be strong enough to take an army, nonetheless, an army led by kings and monarchs", the being in the tower had a smug smile on its face.
