Chapter 29 - A powerhouse capable of shaking the universe

Exhilarating.

That was the only word Felix could use to describe how he felt as his body ached from the large consumption of energy.

The body of the Wind Tyrant currently laid before him, split into two equal parts.

Such a terrifying creature was reduced to a mere corpse within seconds and it was because of Felix's sword.

That thought was like a drug to Felix as the corner of his lips curved into a smile.

[1 Soul essence absorbed]

[Your status has risen]

[Festival of Blades unlock rate-: 55%]

[Congratulations to host, just a bit more and the ability, Festival of Blades will be unlocked]

Felix directly ignored the numerous notifications that popped up as he muttered. "Is this what power feels like?"

He hadn't reached a high rank yet he was already able to perform such feats.

What were those powerful beings at the top capable of then?

As his thoughts ran wild, Nathan's approach jolted him from them.

Clap… clap

"Impressive. You managed to down a Wing Tyrant in one blow." Nathan remarked as he stared at the split body of the mutant before them.

He glanced at Felix with a glimmer of respect and joy in his eyes.

It had only been five days yet Felix managed to hone his skills enough to perform such feats.

It was astounding no matter how Nathan took it.

"It felt… good." Felix said after a bit of hesitation as he looked at the sword in his hand.

Nathan patted his shoulder. "Safe to say you are ready to challenge a dungeon with me. Glad I don't have to worry about you."

"Tell me something… how powerful are they?" Felix suddenly asked causing Nathan to pause in his tracks.

"Who?"

"The Demirs. How strong are they?" Felix turned to Nathan with a serious expression on his face.

Nathan furrowed his brows momentarily before sighing. "Sometimes I forget that the reason you are doing all this is to get back at them."

"Intentionally or not?"

"…" Nathan pursed his lips. "They have a ranking system similar to us Awakened."

"I'm all ears."

"The weakest are the 1 star Citizens, but don't let the designation fool you, they are capable of something they call Flow, which is some kind of psionic ability with amazing applications."

Felix nodded as he listened attentively to the impromptu class.

Nathan could only continue after a moment of silence. "The 2 star Demirs, also called military personnel are also capable of Flow but their understanding is deeper and more combat oriented. There are also 3 star Demirs that make up a large part of their army and the 4 star Demirs that take up positions as leaders.

"From 4 star, their powers become more versatile as most possess something they call Divine arts and then lastly, the 5 stars which make up the upper brass of the Demirs."

"What about them?... What sets them apart from the rest?"

"They not use Flow, but also Divine arts and something even more powerful, Laws." Nathan spoke with a hint of reverence and fear in his voice.

It was clear he had experienced the so-called Law's of the 5 stars and if anything, it had left quite an impression on him.

"How do I measure up to the 1 star Demirs?" Felix suddenly asked, jolting Nathan from his trip down memory lane.

Nathan looked him over before shaking his head. "At least reach Master rank before you ask that question again."

"Are they that strong?"

Nathan turned and walked away from the dead body that had begun to smell with Felix following closely behind.

"It's not about their strength. The Demirs are naturally gifted fighters. It's almost like the heavens blessed them with everything nice. For what we need a year for, a Demir can achieve it in weeks… and that's just average talent."

Felix slowly nodded in understanding. "So they are the ones I would face once it's time."

"Uh-huh, so get strong, fast." Nathan remarked before adding. "The Demirs might be the most dangerous force in the known universe so if you want to have a chance at threatening them…"

"I need to become a powerhouse capable of shaking the universe." Felix muttered as a certain word came to mind at that moment.

God!

After seeing the title, god, attached to his system interface, Felix had indeed wondered what exactly connoted a god.

At first, it had eluded him but now he got a clue.

A being capable of shaking the universe to it's roots.

If that wasn't a god, then what could one call it?

As his thoughts ran wild, both he and Nathan soon reached their makeshift camp which was just outside the Wind Tyrants territory.

After a bit of time passed, they moved everything into the territory to avoid other lowlife critters disturbing them since only idiots would encroach on the territory of a beast like the Tyrant.

With that, they prepared lunch and Nathan watched Felix swing his sword relentlessly until nighttime reached before dinner was made and once again, they ate with relish.

If anything, both men had something in common and that was their love for food which was why they didn't dare to miss out on it.

Once they were done, Nathan took the first watch but Felix refused to sleep, instead taking the time to train his other senses.

He sat cross legged a few meters away from the fire place, his eyes closed and his hands close together for his fingers to form a star shape.

His breathing was measured and his senses were sharpened.

[Inner Form breathing activated]

After almost an hour of silent meditation, he suddenly opened his eyes and took a deep breath. "This meditation technique is quite impressive. It took care of all the fatigue I was feeling."

[Notice. It is a breathing technique formed from the thought that a person should be as sharp and agile as a sword, thus all forms of fatigue and or weakness should not exist within. It is useful only when host isn't in an extremely weakened state. Overused and Host could die from pushing his body to hard]

"… I see. I'll be careful with it."

[That would be for the best]

Felix sighed. "Unfortunately, I can't use it to increase the amount of energy in the system."

[Notice. Inner Form breathing is most suitable for recovery. If host masters it, it would be possible to rejuvenate energy reserves even during battle, ensuring that host never runs out of energy]

"Is that possible?"

[Theoretically, yes. Of course, if your expenditure is more than the replacement, then you would still run out of energy, albeit at a slower pace]

Felix nodded wordlessly as he got to his feet.

[Where are you going]

"To test out your theory."

[...]

Just as Felix got to his feet, there was a sudden tremor followed by an explosion that shook him to his core.

As he dropped to the ground, partly from shock, Nathan glanced in a particular direction before revealing a knowing look.

"Its here."
