(Uriel Ulrich)
I didn't regret the brutal action I displayed because I was forced to. I remained unbothered as I drove the car to Veronica's house. I noticed she didn't speak during the short journey to the house, thanks to the high speed at which I moved. As we arrived at her home, she exited the car and walked away. I did walk after her and when we got into the house, I questioned her. `Why?' She wasn't needed to be told about the reason of the question for she already knew. `I urged you to accept her request but you didn't. That was one way of getting back at those that hurt me in the past.'
I was confused, I had no knowledge about what concerned Odeon's House with those vampires that killed her ex lover. `What's up with that?' She frowned at my response before hurling a reply straight at my face. `Odeon is a century year old vampire and he's the brother of the red raven that killed someone I loved. Odeon was also part of the conspiracy fate prepared for me. When I heard her say his name, I was furious and I wanted nothing but to kill him.' As she spoke, I understood. `There are so many reasons I wouldn't want to attack the person you speak about. I detest making enemies out of people, it's just that you do not know of how much I value peace.' Her image grew blurry after I spoke and gone was she, she had entered one of the rooms. I wasn't needed to be told that she was pissed off so I raced after her.
`Let's talk about this, tomorrow.' I assured her as I grabbed her shoulder. Just as I did, I looked around and discovered that we were within a large room. Magnificent candlelights illuminated the room and made way for easy sight. `Will you just try to help me, please? I can return the sunlight ring in exchange for that.' I was getting tired of talking about it so said nothing but changed the subject. `Do you have a spare room?' My question earned her snort. `Why you so gentlemanly? Can we not just share the same bed? It's not like we would be doing anything and yes, I do have a spare room.' I laughed in response and got rid of my hold on her shoulder. `You're a great temptation.' And she slapped my shoulder as I teased her. `Which you can try to resist but if you insist, you can have it your way.'
My decision was same, I wanted that spare room and my wish was granted. She showed me the room and left, I took in a deep breath just as I laid my exhausted body on the bed. Minutes replaced seconds, hours replaced minutes and my eyes were opened. I arose and walked into the bathroom to have a nice bath, I hummed a war tune during the entire process and such brought back old memories, scary memories that had never stopped haunting my brain. Minutes after reminiscing about the past, I exited the bathroom with a towel well wrapped around my body. I had to change the tuxedo but I wasn't with my clothes for I had the intention of purchasing some after my arrival at Compton but I was busy with finding my fated mate.
I remembered what Veronica said about the collection of tuxedo's she's got in her home so I checked the huge wardrobe within the room I was assigned. I was awed by the beautiful collection of tuxedo's she possessed. An elegant one caught my eye so I stretched forth my arm to withdraw it, a black tuxedo. I hesitated not to clad myself in it before exiting the room. After seconds of walking along the path that led to the sitting room, I stole a glance at the door that led to her room. I could have tried checking up on her but decided against it for I didn't want to disturb her sleep. I was about to leave the house when Ulnar taunted me. `She isn't in the room, I cannot scent her aura. I wish she's been kidnapped by a nasty creature so you could focus more on our objective.' I ignored him and placed my grip on the door's knob before pushing the door open and when I did, she wasn't present within the room.
I made use of my phone to message her but just I unlocked my phone, I caught sight of a message. `Uriel, help! I'm five streets away from the house.' I stared at the little detail that laid below the message and found the time at which it was sent. `8:23 AM.' The message was sent an hour before I arose from the bed which very well meant that whatever that was after her might have caught up with her. I sat my butt on her bed and constructed some possibilities regarding her capture. One of the many possibilities was that she was being chased by a vampire and it wasn't a random one. If it was a vampire that was chasing her, it would be one with a sunlight ring and very few vampires possessed it. So, it would be a vampire with much influence, one she was acquainted with and had a beef with her. An answer popped into my mind, it could be the Red Ravens, the loyal subordinates of their master.
I was annoyed by such action as I bolted towards the exit with my supernatural speed. I blurred my image past every object that sat on the path that led towards the rough location she sent. Few seconds had only passed but I was there and I saw nobody present. The street was an empty one and very few pedestrians were patrolling it. I caught the familiar scent that always lingered around her within the air after minutes of searching around. There was no way I could find her with my abilities, I was a wolf and not a witch. I was worried of her safety, whatever creature that had captured her was no good. I came up with a possible method of finding her but the source of the solution was the hardest thing about it. I knew my best bet at finding her was employing the ability of a witch. I hated witches, they were eccentric people that laid an exorbitant price whenever one wanted something. Asides that, they were very dangerous and cunning. Making deals with them was more like one was making a deal with Lucifer.
