CHAPTER 11
Scarlett was down to her third bottle since she came to the club. And to say she was not quite drunk would be a lie. She could not hold her liquor that much.
But still, she kept drinking. However, she had not known that she has become the prey of wolves lurking in the club.
Scarlett did not want to draw attention in the crowd. So she was dressed in what people would wear to a club.
A black little dress that stopped well above her knees. It had tiny straps hanging on her shoulders. The dress did well to cover her womanly parts but it could not hide her figure as well.
She had the right amount of flesh in the right places and they were not too much for her. Her clear and smooth porcelain skin, her averagely long legs and her deliciously thick thighs.
All of her was enough to give the men staring, dirty fantasies.
So her not wanting to stand out was a huge failure. Who would not notice and beauty getting drunk by herself in the bar?
And let's not even talk of her uniquely red hair in the sea of black, brown and blonde. Simply put, Scarlett is a beauty that is too hard to ignore.
A rose in the midst of grasses.
"What are you looking at?" Arsenio got called out by his right hand, Ryker.
His eyes darted away from the woman drinking alone at the bar.
"It's nothing," he denied and took a slow sip from his glass half-filled with wine.
"Nothing? I doubt it nothing can grasp your attention that much, Arsenio." Ryker did not believe him so his eyes scanned the area be caught Arsenio's eyes zoning on.
And there he found her. A woman who is hard to miss or forget. A teasing smile crept into Ryker's face.
"Oh! Someone's little souvenir is in the house," he teased.
Arsenio paid him no heed to avoid being pulled into his non-ending teasing. But how could he underestimate the guy? Ryker continued teasing anyways.
"No wonder you could barely hear what I was saying. You were admiring her. She looks rather different tonight," Ryker kept talking.
"Oh look. Your souvenir caught the attention of some bad wolves, Arsenio."
At Ryker's words, Arsenio's eyes shot back to Scarlett. He unknowingly frowned. Unlike before, Scarlett was not alone.
There were three men now talking with her. Or rather, pestering her. And from the looks of it, Scarlett did not want to be bothered. He could see she was not even paying attention to them.
Although he was happy she did not. But he could not help but frown more. He thought she had a guardian.
'Why would her brother let her out here all by herself? Without any friends or protection,' he questioned in his head.
'But then again, it's none of my business,' he shook his head and looked away.
She only caught his attention because he felt it again. That familiar yet strange pull from the last time he saved her from drowning.
Other than that, she is none of his business. She is not his priority nor his responsibility.
Meanwhile, Scarlett who thought she could just peacefully drink and go home was getting pissed by the bothersome three flies by her side.
She wondered why people, especially men, cannot have that simple decency of not trying to flirt with every girl they see alone at a bar.
Like, don't they get that a girl just wants to be alone? Gosh!
"Come on, hottie. Join us at our table," one of the men said.
"We promise that you won't be bored."
"Or unoccupied," the last one added with a hidden meaning and a wiggle of his full brows.
"I'm fine by myself. Thanks but no thanks for the offer," Scarlett politely rejected them.
She was thinking that they would just move on to someone else or walk away. But no way. They had their lustful eyes on her and they were not willing to let her go just like that.
"Come on now, baby. You will enjoy yourself as we will too."
"Yeah. Don't play hard to get now when you will be begging for more later."
"Hahaha," they burst out laughing at what seemed to be funny to only them.
"Gosh! Why are people so dumb and pestering?" Scarlett hissed in annoyance.
Then she stood up, staggering a bit. She dropped her bill and placed the almost finished bottle of alcohol on it.
"Since you won't leave, I will go," she said before taking a step forward.
Before she took another, her arm was grabbed by one of the men.
"Not so fast, cheesecake. You are joining us whether you like it or..."
Just as he was about to complete the sentence, he got a hard hit between his legs. He grunted as his upper body bent downwards and his hands held his pained groin.
Scarlett was quite surprised that she actually hit a man. And that too at a forbidden area. But before she could celebrate it, her ears caught the man's order.
"You b*tch. Get her!" He barked to the other two who were still in shock from what happened.
But as soon as they heard those words, they came back to their senses and looked at the woman who had the guts to harm their own. Much to their surprise, Scarlett had disappeared from their sight.
"Damn it! She ran off," one of them cursed.
"Follow her, you idiots. Get her or get lost."
The two men scurried off on their feet, their eyes scanning through the crowd for a certain red-haired girl. Fortunately for them, they spotted her fighting her way through the crowd.
"Get back here," Scarlett heard their loud thundering voices over the crowd.
She pushed more between people to get through and escape, muttering an apology in the process.
Much to her dismay, when the got out of the crowd, it was not the exit staring at her but a flight of stairs.
