"Then what will his name be?" After some time, the mother asked her husband.
"Temorsth!" Without hesitation, the man said with a smile.
"What does it mean?" Seeing his sly face she raised one eyebrow and asked.
"In my language, it means terror, while Temorst means fear." Hearing his words, her eyes opened in shock.
"T... " trying to say something she opened her mouth, but she was interrupted.
"This was our promise!"
"But..." She remembered the promise, that if their child were a boy he would name him, and if it was a girl she could, but she couldn't accept this, looking down at her baby, she said.
"IF! He likes it...then I'll accept it..."
"My baby, do you like this name? She looked down at her son with affectionate eyes and asked.
'...Hm, I think it should be about a name right?' Since he didn't understand the language they were speaking, he could only guess.
'My name...? I don't want mom...' He didn't want to be named by a beautiful woman, guessing that she would name him something cute.
'Dad, give me a cool name...' He reached out to his father who looked very cool and since this looked like acceptance of the name.
"Good! Then it is decided." The system responded to the remark.
[Notice: The Host has acquired a name!]
[Congratulations: The Host's name is, Lear Olendriant Temorsth.]
'Uh? My name?'
[Notice: The family name of the host is the family name of the rulers of a race in the world Ananterra!]
[Notice: The family name of the host is the family name of the rulers of a race in the world Ananterra!]
'Twice? Is this a bug...? Wait...!?' He didn't have much time to think as the notifications continued.
[Notice: The existence who has given the name is a Middle-high ranked existence!]
[Potential increased!]
[Your luck has increased!]
[Your Existence Rank (ER) increases more easily until you reach the Middle-high Existence Rank!]
[Your 'self' is strongly influenced by the namesake's abilities, meanings, and traits!]
[The more your name is known around the world, the more powerful you will be, good luck to the Host!]
'Ah, what is...' As Temorsth was realizing why Aidana forced the name change, he began to feel a surge of power while his entire existence began to evolve.
'What is this shadow...?' A dark force began to embrace him from the left side, 'What is this light...!' but in the process, a white light appeared from his right side. Since the light was smaller than the shadow it was slowly pushed back but with this, it fought against the dark more fiercely.
"Huh? Why is...? Why is it...?!"
[Warning: The two extremes of the power of darkness and light inside the Host's body are opposing each other!]
'YOU DON'T SAY!?' He shouted in his mind as he felt unbearable pain from the two powers colliding. 'It's as if my body and mind are splitting in two...!'
"No, we must hurry!" His parents noticed the battle between the two powers, they immediately understood what it was, and with it, they started acting.
"Why is it appearing now?! It only should have appeared when he acquired Mana!" As they were already prepared for a similar situation both of his parents brought out their respective energy.
"No... baby why do you have Mana?" As his mother asked with uneasy eyes, different kinds of materials in the form of exotic herbs and monster parts appeared from thin air.
"Son, why did you need to be so talented...?" His father created three black halo-like circles that glowed red from his dark energy to suppress and take over the dark shadow that was slowly enveloping Temorsth's small body.
'Argh...' Temorsth's mind was in chaos and his newborn body was crying loudly from the pain.
His mother waited for the black halos to absorb some of the shadows before she summoned three rings of white light that had a gold-green glow, it started to absorb the white light while she made sure to balance the two forces and make the dark and light nullify each other.
'Ugh, finally...!' After a minute, the pain eased but it didn't go away, with it he saw the floating materials turn to some silvery liquid.
"Now the last step... let's seal it away..." The liquid was divided into six portions after which, it flew to his body.
It flew to his ankles, wrists, and both sides of his neck, the six haloes of light descended beside the floating orbs of liquid, on his left the three black and the three white on his right.
'It burns...' As he felt pain in his ankles, wrist, and neck the haloes became incorporated with the liquid. They encircled those parts and after a few seconds the light went away, and with it, tattoo-like marks appeared on his skin.
On the left side, the tattoo looked like a full black armband with a red outline, it was the same on his right the only difference was the color, full white with a yellow-green outline.
[Notice: Much of the original racial energy of the Host has been sealed away.]
'Uh, I'm tired...' It was at the time when he finally could relax a little that he heard the warning of the system.
[Warning: The Host's body cannot withstand the power of the opposing energies, the Host's body will break down within six years, and the soul will be permanently damaged!]
'This...! Why...?' Seeing the warning, his eyes focused in and out sowing the immense anger that he felt toward everything being so unfortunate and lucky at the same time, he couldn't think clearly.
He was just born but he was already tired mentally and physically his newborn weak body couldn't hold it anymore. He fell asleep while thinking about his newfound power and its curse.
His mother and father looked at him with relief, both tired of all that has happened today, seeing him fall asleep they sighed with the feeling that they too could finally rest.
...
Time went on, and Temorsth didn't focus on the warning, or rather he couldn't, he lived the life of an infant without being able to talk or walk.
He just waited and learned the language from his parents, the only problem was that they didn't always speak the same language, and it was difficult for him to learn 3 languages simultaneously.
Weeks and months passed in the blink of an eye, Temorsth was now over five months old and finally able to crawl. It was around this time that he learned that his new body looked almost the same as his old, with blue eyes and black hair but there was one different thing...
'My skin color is whiter... no, it is pale...' And it was at this time too, that he learned his infant body can easily sway his adult mind.
He couldn't even focus on one thing for a long time, not to say that he was more curious than ever.
"Oh, my baby boy..." He even liked to play with his parents.
Before the fifth month, most of the time both or at least one of them was with him, but after the fifth month, there were times when both were away for hours. His mother used magic to create golems out of wood that would protect and feed him if they didn't come on time.
While all this went on he learned more about his parents. 'Dad is a vampire I already knew this, but to think that he is the Leader or to say King of the entire race... with Mom being the Queen of the Light Elves it is making me think this is some Romeo and Juliet-like romance story...'
'As Dad is called Lear Xalier Yi-fan I'm thinking he has some oriental ancestry, am I right...?'
[I don't know everything, don't ask me.]
'But Mom... Elahnleth... Eilthyra... Olendriant... ah my tongue broke... if she is a Light Elf then she should be a subspecies of High Elves then...' And speaking with Aidana, he tried to learn as much as he possibly could.
...
"Go on son, you'll succeed come to Papa."
"Good job!" At eight months old, he was getting used to his body with which he finally could stand and walk and...
"Dad..." his voice was slowly coming out too, but he still couldn't speak in complete sentences.
"Ah, he said it!"
"...my baby boy, call mommy too..."
...
When he was around ten months old he tried to look through books and scrolls for more information about the world and magic.
Aidana helped him learn to read the script of the Common language of the world, and in little to no time, they had already begun learning to read the script of the Elven language.
"Hm, why are you here baby? Oh, books...?" When his mother, noticed his interest in books and scrolls, she tried to teach him basic magic, which led to a disaster after his powers went out of control and caused him terrible pain.
"No, baby can't go in the study, the books will hurt you!" After which he was forbidden to go near books and scrolls.
'Hm... they are not here...' Yet he sneaked into the study whenever he could and studied with Aidana again.
"Ah, no! Why are you here sweetie?" He even planned for times when he would get caught.
*Bah...*Sob...* Knowing his mother loved him he abused it and cried endlessly whenever she tried to get him away from the books.
...
As Elah listened to her husband and son every day for a month, she tried to distract herself from them, not wanting her baby to suffer from what she was teaching him.
"If he's so adamant about it, why not let him do it? At least if you're with him, you can make sure he doesn't use the magic he learned." She heard these lines from Xalier almost every day... and saw them both smiling slyly at her.
"You can't deny that he's your son!" As the father and son looked at each other, they both shook their heads, not understanding what she was talking about.
"Why would I deny that he is my son?" Looking at them, she averted her eyes.
"Mom... pretty please..." As she looked back at her son's big eyes, her eyes sook... she couldn't hold on any longer and give in to them.
"Ughhh okay, let's study again, BUT instead of spells and incantations, I'll just teach him magic theory!"
"Thank you, mom..." The moment he heard this, Temorsth ran to Elah and hugged her legs, feeling his joy, a smile appeared on her face, when he saw this Xalier came closer and took Temorsth in his arms to lift him, this was a happy family scene.
Xalier kissed Elah and she returned the kiss. Feeling the love of the two Temorsth was happy to be reborn into such a beautiful family.
