Chapter 11 - The existance

[...]

'Hey! Can you hear me, Aidana?' Temorsth sit back on his bed while he asked with a louder thought.

[Yes, sorry Host...] A few seconds passed and Aidana came to her senses.

'Why didn't you answer? Anyway, what was with me burning and my father not?'

[The Host really will burn in direct sunlight. The Host's father is strong and not affected by his natural weaknesses as much, but he is still weak to fire and light magic, it's just the sun is too weak and too far away to hurt him.]

[The Host must be at least a Body Tempering Middle-Stage Cultivator or an Existence Rank 7 to avoid being instantly burned!]

'Ahhhh...sorry, what were the Cultivation Realms, I kinda forgot... I couldn't use energy until now so I didn't think about it..."

[But...the Host remembered how many there were...] She was shocked, he remembered how many she said but he couldn't remember them.

*Ahem...* 'Don't look at me like that.' He become a little embarrassed when he saw the disappointed emoji that appeared.

[...] Instead of saying anything, a window appeared with a table of Cultivation Realms and the comparison of Existence Rank(ER).

While looking through the Cultivation Realms. 'If I remember it right Mortal means people who didn't start cultivating and are just normal beings like the people of my old world, and Mortal Body is anyone who had begun to gather any type of energy.'

'Understanding cultivation is not difficult, the higher the realm and stage, the stronger the individual but... I don't understand the Existence Rank.'

'Aidana you said things that seemed complicated I didn't care much about them until now so I forgot most of them over the years... Can you please...' Temorsth didn't even finish but Aidana already started her explanation.

[To simplify the Rank of Existence is a number that determines the importance of a being or creature to the world, but it also gives a certain amount of power.]

[The same things for everyone are, bonus HP, MP, and Stats like Strength, but some things are slightly different for everyone.]

'So it's almost the same as Cultivation Realms?'

[No, one's Realm accurately tells their strength but ER can be high even if you are not strong.]

"Hm...?" Seeing that he did not get what she meant, she gave an example.

[The king who is in the Mortal Realm, which should correlate to ER 0-1, could be ER 1-6 because he is more important to the world or to people than any normal peasant or slave, after all, he is the king of the nation.]

'Oh, so you mean there's fame and reputation in this ER?'

[Yes, but if the Host becomes a Body Tempering Realm, the Host's ER will automatically be 4-6 depending on the Host's current Stage.]

'Now that I think about it... Status...' the light blue window appeared.

[System Name: The Will of the Worlds (Aidana)]

[Name: Lear Olendrient Temorsth]

[Race: Half-Vampire, Half-Light Elf]

[Alignment: Lawful Neutral]

[Class(es) & Level: A Class can be chosen! (New)]

[Experience points(XP): 5/0]

[Job(s): No Job has been acquired yet.]

[Title(s): One who was embraced by death, Experienced the Singularity (New!)]

[Cultivation:

Realm: Mortal

Stage: Middle]

[Existence Rank(ER): 3]

[Health points(HP): 1831/1306]

[Mana points(MP): 1863/1162]

"I was right, I remembered that I found it strange that my ER was 3 even though my cultivation was a Stage lower than it was in my previous life and even then it was less than 1 or something the like."

'So is this because my parents are important to the world and as their son, I am important too?'

[The Host is the son of two important characters in the world Ananterra, it is obvious that the ER of the Host would be high, but since the Host isn't known to exist at all it does not give anything for now.]

[The Host's name gives the ER, it is because the person who named the Host is a Middle-high level existence, or more precisely, the potential obtained with the name gives the ER.]

'Is my name that important? I didn't notice that it was any different than in my previous life.'

[There is a difference, but it's not so magical. It gives luck to some extent but since luck is a skill that can be acquired if the Host is lucky and tries hard enough, it can even unlock Luck as a Stat.]

'Oh, that's cool... I can be like the protagonist of a story with luck on my side and the setting and the world itself protecting me.' Temorsth began to imagine a scenario where after becoming incredibly strong, he would stop the war between elves and vampires and would become a great hero to the people of Ananterra.

[Ahem... just to clear things up, the Host isn't a hero, protagonist, or anything the like. There's a chance because of the setting but not enough time has passed to call the Host a candidate for anything.]

"Hm?"Seeing him coming back to reality, she continued.

[There are many possible ways of what could happen, such as if the Host remains hidden for life, only the three would know who the Host was, and the Host would be forgotten after a short time.]

'But... I won't hide...' He again didn't understand her words.

[Let's take an example from the Host's old world.] Hearing his thoughts of not understanding she brought up a better example.

[There were 10 billion people in the Host's old world. The Host most likely heard of cases where a normal person came up with a great idea and became famous and rich, right?]

Reading his face, saying, 'But isn't there a huge difference?' she continued.

[For example, let's suppose that only 0,001% of the 10 billion people could have thought of the same idea at least once in their lifetime because of the same environment, the same family situation, etc. that's still 10 million people.]

[Let me ask the host why one person was different from the other 10 million?]

"Luck or fate?" Not knowing the answer, he asked back.

[Yes, but no. Decisions and choices make people who they are.]

[Almost everyone in the world is different, not because they were born in a different place or in a different timeline, but because they chose something different or performed in some other way.]

'Oh, so you're saying it depends on my choices whether I become a hero, a villain, or even a god?'

[Yes, if the Host is actively trying to achieve something or some form without losing focus and with all of his power, it will become a reality even if it needs hundreds... of years...]

'Ah?' Aidana had a chill run down her back, she couldn't see the future, but as strong as she was, she could feel things...

[...I'll tell the Host once... and I hope the Host never forgets it...!] As the atmosphere quickly changed, Temorsth's goofy personality disappeared and his face became serious.

[Even if the situation is dire and the Host is in a hopeless state and doesn't know what to do... but there is still something the Host wants to achieve, never and I mean never give up!]

[Even if the Host is dying or already dead, never give up because it's only really over when the Host gives up the fight.]

"I understand..." His voice was solemn it was not playful at all.

[One more thing, energy can neither be created nor destroyed only converted from one form of energy to another.]

[Not even the most powerful being can create things from nothing, even they need some kind of energy, but for them, it can be anything from a living organism to memories or even emotions but, as long as there is a fight... they will consider whether it is worth it!]

"I'll never forget it... This, I promise!" Although he had questions, he controlled himself to wait for the right time.

[Good...]

...

And after a few minutes of silence, as the atmosphere returned to normal curiosity fueled Temorsth so he finally asked the question.

'What did you mean by energy from memory and emotion? I understand the part where people and creatures are a type of energy, but how can emotions be energy?'

[If the Host does not understand why memory and emotions are energy, then the Host does not understand creatures as energy.]

'Why?'

[First, the host should answer me, how is a memory created?]

'Memory is formed after an action or something imagined or experienced.'

[The answer is good, but I didn't ask what are memories created from, but how or rather which thing creates memories?]

'Uhm... you mean the brain?'

[Yes, and from what is the brain working?]

'Blood and signals that pass through neurons and... Oh... energy!' The realization hit him with his own words.

[Yes, memories are created from the energy that enters the brain and is stored by the soul, and to say emotions are almost the same.]

[But before the Host gets the wrong idea. Does the Host know how gods are born?]

'Uhm... I think people work to get great power and because of it they're worshiped or maybe they were just born to be gods.'

[Good answer, and now what I really wanted to ask you, what is worship?]

'It's praying to a god or someone superior to you, right?'

[Yes, but to be more specific, you devote time and energy to one or more god-like beings.]

[And this is your answer, a mortal's emotions and aspirations become 'worship' and give power to a god, so yes, memory and emotion are a type of energy, like soul energy, Mana, or life force.]

'Oh! I understand, so gods use our power, isn't this... hm... Thank you Aidana, it would be much harder to understand the world without you.' His words took a quick turn in the middle but Aidana didn't notice anything.

[It's nothing Host, I'm here to help.] A blushing emoji appeared.

?: 'It's better if she doesn't hear it...' A voice deep inside him spoke, it was so hidden that even Aidana didn't hear it.

And on the side of Aidana as she thought... 'But... isn't this happening every time... every single time when this boy learned something new, he would ask me a lot of questions...' She got a little angry at him for always relying on her instead of trying to figure things out by himself.

'This will lead to bad habits... I need to punish him a little...' Hearing Temorsth's surface thoughts that he wanted to ask another question, she interrupted. With it now the perfect opportunity presented itself before her.
