Luciana was humming to the song "the power of love" while she mopped the office floor with a mopper. She had her headphones on, so she did not even realize Trevor was looking at her while she danced with the mop. All her life she had distasted love seeing how miserable it made her mother be, and so for the 22 years of her life she had never entertained any man not until she met Trevor.
While she danced she recalled when she met him 2 months ago while she was orienting him when he first reported to Tetraloop for the same job she did. She at first laughed at him a few weeks later when he opened up his feelings to her, and even told him her heart was cold as ice when it comes to matters of romantic love and there was no way he stood a chance in changing her mind about it. Trevor was bold and asked her to give him a chance to make her fall in love and she agreed to it knowing very well there was no way that was ever going to happen.
But 2 months later, she fell head over heels for him, he was basically her first boyfriend and he did a good job of making sure she enjoyed every day of being with him. Watching her dance Trevor felt happy in his heart he placed his mopper aside and slowly walked to where she was holding her from her back, she was shocked to see him since she had thought he was cleaning the board room on the third floor.
"Hey, you," he said smiling at her and pulling down her headphones. "What music are you dancing to?"
He asked while he took them to his ears.
"Power of love mmmh," he said to her with a smile and she couldn't help but blush.
"The music has nothing to do with you," she said in denial while she tried to put on a serious face but she was doing a terrible job at it.
"Really now" he responded to her pushing her closer to him.
"Trevor, we are at work you should be cleaning the board room not holding me like this here," she said shyly.
"But I want to hold you, now. I missed you" he said holding her even tighter while she tried to get off his arms playfully.
"If Rene finds us like this, she will definitely lose it, especially with the way she looks at you she definitely has a crush on you"
"I don't care about that; all I want is you crushing on me every day," he said causing her to smile sheepishly.
"Okay now let me go"
"You know the password," he said looking at her with his sexy eyes and a smile on his face.
"Not here, Trevor," she said looking around to see if anyone was around but Trevor was not going to let her go, not until she kissed him. She looked again to the other side before giving him a quick kiss but he pulled her back and kissed her even more deeply.
"What in the world!" Rene screamed out her voice at them when she walked on them kissing each other.
Luciana panicked and moved away from Trevor who was very composed and not even scared about a thing.
"Luciana, you are fired! Is this what you oriented Trevor to do, seducing him! Go pack your trash and leave!" she commanded her and did not say a single word to Trevor. Luciana felt very angry and upset that she only fired her.
"I think we have a misunderstanding" Trevor tried to speak but she stopped him.
"Everything is as clear as it looks now, you get back to work before you also lose your job!" she said to him and walked past them looking angrily at Luciana. Trevor wanted to stop her and talk to her but Luciana stopped him.
"It's okay, don't try that we will both lose our jobs and that won't be good, besides I will talk to the manager and I will be back here tomorrow. I knew she had a beef with me ever since you came" Luciana said looking at her with anger as she disappears into the corridor.
"No, I will talk to her, you don't have to see the manager"
"I have to, and you should get back to work. We will talk later" she said to him and left immediately, passing by her locker to get her things before going to the manager's office. After a successful conversation with him, she was given a last warning by Rene who made sure to load her with so much work so that she would work till late in the night.
She arrived home at around 11 pm and holding the door knob it was covered in warm blood, at first she thought it was some liquid or water but when she turned to look at her hands she realized it was all red, she felt fear rush in her and she walked inside the house very worried. The house was in a mess.
"Oh no, what did you do this time round dad," she said to herself for she knew what havoc her mother would cause every time her father had done one of his stupid actions. Feeling the immense silence in the house she called for her mother who was not responding as she walked towards her parents' bedroom.
She was welcomed with a pool of blood at the entrance and that made her worry even more, her eyes could not miss the writings on the wall.
"I DID THIS OUT OF LOVE"
They were written with blood that she had no clue where it was from, her whole body was now shaking as she walked towards the bed that was near a corner and turned to see what was beneath the bed.
"Mum" she called out again before realizing it was her mother laying dead on the floor. She went to her crying hoping she was still alive calling to her. She was not even moving; she took the phone quickly and called the police, her hands shaking and her face full of tears.
"My father, he did this," she said on the phone with a shaking voice.
