"no one said love was going to be easy, and once you fall in love you will understand me then, you will understand why I can't stay away from him, why I forgive him a million times over the same mistake. Why when am away from him am even worse than when am with him. One day you will understand" Those were the words of her mother ringing in her head, every time she would ask her why she kept on forgiving her father every time he wronged her and mistreated her.
Her mother loved her father so much and so did he, but how he showed it to her never made any sense to Luciana. She did not understand why should one hurt a person they love and yet say they still love her that never made any sense to her.
"Mother I found love but it's not as bitter as yours and dad's, I still don't understand. Was it worth it to lose your life in the hands of a man you love" she wept still holding her mother's body in her arm it was then that the ambulance and some police were arriving and they took her mother's body away from her.
She was silent and was not saying a word grieving the loss of her mother and very angry that it was the love her mother praised so much that took away her life.
"We have found Jacob; he is by the bridge our men are already there," A policeman said to her and that got her out of the off-zone.
"Take me there! "She said angrily following the police officer. There was a small crowd there and several police cars with a few personal cars at the bridge people were mumbling and the police officers had not said anything regarding what was happening to her. She walked out of the car and moved in between the people angrily trying to get to where it appeared something was going on.
"Where is he? Where is that monster!" she screamed out her lungs to the police officers who were holding her.
"He jumped into the river and we are trying to retrieve his body." One of the men came to her aid.
"No!, he can't be dead I want to see his body," Luciana said with tears in her eyes, the police however would not allow her to get anywhere near the scene of the crime, where her father had jumped from. She had someone tap her on her back, and when she turned it was a man fully covered in dark clothes and handed a piece of paper.
She took the paper and tried to see who the man was but he disappeared in the crowd of people before she could get to him. She was now away from the crowd trying to find the man but she could not see him anywhere. She turned to the paper to open it and see what it had and from the handwriting, she knew it was her father's writing. The paper had patches of blood and that meant that it had been written soon after he did the evil act.
Luciana my darling, I know you are shocked and probably hate me for thinking am the one that has done this evil act, but there is a lot to this than I can write in this paper. I am also saddened by the death of my one and true love your mother. We made a vow that we will die the same day and so I also won't be alive by the time you get this later.
I want you to know that I love you so much and so did your mother. We have done our best to keep you safe. Now you have to take care and be alert for when the time is right you will know everything. I loved your mother so much, I am not the one who did this, and I can't live without her either. Goodbye.
Love
Dad.
She felt a rage of anger reading it, and did not believe a word of what was written there. It was then when Trevor arrived he came so fast as soon as he got the call from her and she was crying. After looking for her in the crowd which was getting bigger now since the body had been found. He was able to see her alone by the road just near the bridge on the safety wall. She noticed him coming and they both rushed to each other as she falls in his arms crying. He soothed her not saying a word allowing her to relax on his chest while he slowly stroked her hair.
She then entered into her pocket and gave him the letter she had received and he also read it in the confusion about what exactly had happened.
"So, if it's not him then who did this?" he asked in confusion still looking at the paper.
"I don't know, but I don't believe a word he is saying," she said shaking her head. The body was now being pulled up and she went to where they were pulling his body to see if it was really his father's body. Trevor was right behind her but the police could not allow her to pass through, they were holding her back with other journalists who wanted to get a picture of the person.
"I want to see him, why can't they let me pass," she said in frustration.
"Just a minute," Trevor said to her while he went to speak to one officer who appeared as if he was the lead officer of that operation. She couldn't see exactly what he was telling him but in a few minutes, he nodded to the officer holding back to allow Luciana to get to the place the body was. Trevor followed her and they both walked to where the body was placed and covered with a white sheet.
Luciana pulled off the sheet and she shook her head in unbelief.
"No, this is not him"
"This is a very fresh body madam, there are no other bodies in the river" police responded to her while she covered the body.
"he is not dead, he must be somewhere here watching all of this with his stupid lies that he did not kill her!!" she fumed angrily.
