Dwane and El were having their respective lunch quietly. They were sitting in front of each other, there was an awkward silence between them.
Dwane's eyes were fixed on the reddish brown hickey on her neck. She always had similar marks on her neck and they never missed to catch Dwane's attention. Today, her marks were of a much deeper shade. He continued staring at them.
They acted as a cruel reminder of his solitude.A reminder that he had no one in his life to call them his own. He could feel the mark mocking his agony.
When El saw him staring at her neck, her heart was filled with horror. His words of strangling her ran on the back of her head.
She clumsily held the side of her neck feeling uncomfortable under his stern gaze. Since Her hand covered the hickey mark on her neck, Dwane turned his gaze away.
They continued to have their lunch in silence.
The rest of the day was passed in a mundanely uneventful manner.
The next morning, El woke up early to her alarm and thought of executing her absurd plan.
Freshening up, she stepped into the kitchen.
"I'll be preparing breakfast from now on." A sly smile was plastered on her face as she instructed Patty.
She slowly started chopping the vegetables to make sandwiches. As she fried them on the pan, she stared at the rat poison on the kitchen shelf.
Only the thought of being capable of twerking with Dwane's food gave her immense satisfaction.
An evil grin appeared on her face as she sprinkled extra spices on Dwane's sandwich.
A few minutes later, Dwane was surprised to see El in the kitchen early in the morning.
He went there to get himself water but stopped when he saw her.
He cleared his throat to catch her attention. The husky masculine voice altered her, she saw him standing at the kitchen entrance, flaunting his shirtless chiseled body.
"You are up early today Miss. El."
"I thought of making breakfast and it's Mrs Wilson, Mr Farehya."
"Sure".
He walked close to her and stretched his hand to open the refrigerator door. Both of them could sense the heated tension between them.
"Is the breakfast ready?" Dwane asked.
"Almost."
A few minutes later, Alec came downstairs and saw Dwane scrolling through his iPad as he sat shirtless in the living room.
"Could you please wear a shirt?" He asked.
Unwilling to argue, Dwane went to his room.
"Good morning, Love." El approached him with a bright smile on her face.
She leaned over and kissed his lips.
"I missed my breakfast today." He teased her as his hands rubbed her crotch over her pants.
"We are in the living room Alec, not here." She moved his hands away.
"But I want my breakfast." They both were whispering between their kisses.
"I prepared it." She said, Alec furrowed his brows in confusion. "Of course you did, who else will prepare it." He said moving his hands back to her crotch.
"I mean sandwiches, you dawg." El chuckled and pushed him playfully.
When they saw Dwane coming out of his room, they stopped kissing and straightened their slightly crumpled clothes.
However El couldn't get rid of the crimson patch on her cheeks. Alec stared at them, He found them immensely seductive and his body tensed up to it.
He wanted more of her, he wanted to take her right there at this very instant but he couldn't.
"I'm starving," Dwane said, interrupting Alec's line of thoughts.
'So am I' Alec thought in an sexual context and rolled his eyes in frustration.
At the breakfast table, El had instructed Patty to serve Alec a separate batch of sandwiches stating his low tolerance to spicy food as the reason.
She herself was highly tolerant towards spicy foods and didn't worry about eating Dwane's food by accident.
The moment Dwane took a bite of his sandwich, he coughed, finding it too spicy.
El offered him a glass of water as she smiled inwardly.
'It's only a bit of extra spice, it could have been so much worse, Mr Farehya' she thought to herself.
This continued for a while like a fixed schedule, El woke up early only to satisfy her absurd feeling of being able to poison his food, but she wouldn't.
Her morals didn't allow her to do it.
She would only stare at the bottle of poison as she added a bit of extra spice to Dwane's food.
Interestingly, she was cautious enough only a small amount of extra spice, to make his food spicy enough to bring tears to anybody's eyes but not to make the food non-palatable.
Dwane too visited her, while she was making breakfast with a new excuse everyday.
This continued for ten days, except for the day Alec had left early, the way spicy food represented her anger, a plain bland cereal expressed her gloominess because of Alec's absence.
She was unusually quiet and aloof towards others. Her sombre nature in Alec's absence was evident to everyone around her including Dwane.
It indicated how deeply she felt for him and the way his absence easily affected her mood.
However during the rest of the days, El continued according to her schedule. She sometimes even dropped the sharp knife on purpose when Dwane was at a close proximity to her.
"Oops, I'm sorry, I hope you aren't hurt." she asked with fake concern after dropping the knife.
"Ricky was right, you are a 'walking hazard'." Dwane smirked.
'Beyond Your Comprehension' El thought as a menacing smile crept her face.
