With just a few minutes left before the temporary cultivation realm he got from the system ends, he refrained from wasting any more time in this place.
It would be a huge risk for him if he bumped into a demonic cultivator that was roaming around here by chance, or a clan that was planning on trading in this town.
Abaddon muttered as he slowly floated in the air prepared to leave, the guard that earlier dared to kick and humiliate him still hung by the neck in his right hand.
The man's tongue seemed to be cut off as no words came out of him, some people would even think that his soul already left his body, but the struggling for a deep breath from time to time clearly indicated that he was still alive and kicking, and just still shocked.
"It's time to get out of this place and find a safe location to cultivate in. I can't waste any more time."
He thought about which direction he should take and where he would be staying in the next months or so, but it didn't take more than a few seconds as he already decided on his path.
If this was Abaddon before arriving in this town, he would have surely chosen to stay in the forest without any second thoughts about it. But things were slightly different now.
As he even had the wild idea of massacring everyone in the nearby town and sucking as much vitality as he can while gathering all the resources, thus he can be in the safest position and not worry about anything for the next few years.
Unfortunately, that decision was followed by many risks that would cause losing another temporary godly realm cultivation if some strong people ganged up on him.
While in the worst case scenarios, he would die and perish in that town without anyone knowing that he ever existed in this world.
He suppressed his greed that was whispering in his brain and soul to loot another town and simply chose to stay in the forest that he got reincarnated into for the moment.
After all, he just got here and his body is still old and mortal, hence he was super weak. So his thoughts were only about getting stronger in the safest possible area for the time being.
In the darkest and highest points of the sky, two figures were hovering in mid-air as their heads were facing the ground down below them.
Their eyes were vertical, constantly shining with red light, if anyone were to witness this scene right now, he would be so frightened that he would instantly flee with all his speed from the direction that he just came from.
A middle-aged man's voice that was filled with killing intent sounded, taking the other figure's full attention, but his eyes were still locked on the people that were down below.
" Why did you just stop me father, I could have taken this demonic cultivator's head in one breath if I made a move. Now everyone is already dead! "
The old man that was spoken to didn't have any change in his facial features as he calmly responded, " I have always warned you not to follow your combat instincts and think rationally before making any move."
The middle-aged man didn't seem to be understanding his father's words as he still had the same look from a few minutes ago, his spirit unyielding as he really wanted to behead that scoundrel for his ruthless actions and misuse of his cultivation prowess.
Noticing that his son didn't seem to get him since he still didn't apologize to him, he helplessly sighed as he slowly explained.
" Talking like that, only means that you didn't notice anything from the movements of that demonic cultivator. Look closely at his speed of flight right now and tell me what you learned from watching him."
On second thoughts, he refrained from explaining everything to his son as he really wanted him to learn and read people's situations and circumstances before acting up in fights and even when dealing with people.
The middle-aged man vertical red eyes shifted to the two people below, specifically locking into the dark figure that was about to take his leave from the now lifeless town.
" Fine, I'll watch him and try to see what you meant. But if I notice a thing, you will have to explain everything and let me handle him myself later! "
The man that was wrapped in red scales on his neck and hands seemed to be eager to go down there and teach the dark figure that just killed everyone a lesson.
His decisions weren't solely based on his feelings however, as his father was around and restrained the rush actions that he would have surely taken if he was all by himself here.
The old man didn't say any more words and simply nodded in agreement, his thoughts aligning with what he just promised his son to do.
' This one should be fine, if the things I just deduced are on point, then for Derek to take on this guy alone ain't a problem at all."
Abaddon that just floated into the sky didn't notice that two figures were watching his every movement from the moment he started killing and looting everything in the town.
Utilizing his cultivation, he sped up toward the forest at full speed as he truly needed to get into a safe location before he will be reduced to a mortal old man again.
Since he clearly felt that he only had around a minute or so before the strength that was running in his body left him.
With an ear-piercing sound that was followed by a dark shadow moving at a speed that couldn't be followed by the naked eye and anyone that is below the 8th layer of the godly realm, Abaddon penetrated the gigantic trees, heading to his body's wooden house for the moment.
The two people floating in the sky didn't seem to make any efforts or use any fancy movement techniques as they casually followed behind him, keeping the same distance as always.
" Amazing technique, this guy is really lucky that he could obtain such demonic martial art. But why can't I see through it? "
The middle-aged man exclaimed as he really wanted to know the rank of the martial arts the demonic cultivator was using all along, his gaze still fixated on him as he spoke.
Despite the dense forest that obstructed anyone's view if they looked at it from above, the trees seemed to be non-existent for the two figures as they appeared that they had no problems seeing him from up there.
The old man didn't react and only asked his son Derek to concentrate and stop playing around, since this situation could go south at any given moment, especially against demonic cultivators that were known for their cunningness and ruthless methods.
" That technique is probably a high-ranked profound martial art that could suck people's vitality and use it for themselves in different things, it should be harmless against people with his same strength. Now focus and don't underestimate your enemy."
The old man got Abaddon's martial arts on point, except for its rank as it wasn't really possible to guess it and that's for various reasons.
The martial arts was called life for life, as it could turn its user into a dark shadow that could suck the vitality out of anyone below his realm, anyone close to his strength could easily resist and counterattack him.
Yet, that was only cause Abaddon was using the martial arts with only a fraction of its real power, since this was actually a heaven-ranked martial art, and it could even be used to fight against stronger cultivators than him and threaten to suck them dry.
But given his current limited strength, Abaddon could only make use of it as a vitality-sucking method and can't fight in that form. So the old man in a sense was right in his analysis.
Anyone looking at this scene from a third person's point of view would actually get confused by the existence of such strong cultivators in such a remote place.
And their thoughts wouldn't be the bit stupid or wild as they really hit the point in its most sensitive spot.
Since these two people that were stalking the dark shadow for some time now, were two renowned cultivators that could shake the entirety of Storm Empire with their every move.
Matter of fact, they are currently on a mission that they got from one of the twelve noble clans. Well, it's better to say that they were on a mission, cause they appeared that they put everything on hold the moment their eyes were met with the merciless massacre.
This duo that was a son and a father are called dragon slayers.
To make things more interesting, they weren't even affiliated with any clan or organization, they moved alone and with their own decisions, killing dragons here and there.
As a side job however, they took missions for various noble reasons from the twelve noble clans without any exception, they obviously get paid for their work.
The method of payment will even differ as the old man states since they needed multiple resources from one time to another to keep on getting even stronger and for other different reasons that are currently unknown to anyone except them.
