A few seconds ago, right outside the Fang Clan pavilion and up in the sky.
The night was already very deep. A thick cloud had obscured the moonlight. The dark shadows were like a curtain covering Storm Wind Town.
Yet, the moment Abaddon had the slightest killing intent directed at Ben. A sudden change occurred in the night sky and the thick clouds.
Multiple other clouds started gathering on top of each other, it was a sight that could only be seen when someone was breaking through to the soul palace, yet it was clearly happening on top of the town without anyone attempting to break through.
" The state of the clouds! Is someone gonna have his lightning tribulation? Is he crazy? This whole town will be annihilated if he does it here." A middle-aged man was in a pavilion that was almost identical in grandeur to the Fang Clans trembled in fear as he saw the sky by chance.
An elderly figure pointed out a detail after analyzing the cloud, making the middle-aged man feel slightly better," No Head Clan, look closely at these clouds; something is different about what the books stated they should look like when someone was gonna face a tribulation. No lightning is wavering inside of them."
The middle-aged man calmed down a little after hearing his elder's words and looked closely at the clouds, and he indeed found no lightning flickering inside of them.
" But this is strange. These clouds aren't anything ordinary, and I fear something bad will happen anyway." His worry didn't entirely fade away as he quickly moved out of the meeting hall to take some precautions in case the worst-case scenario happened.
However and right before he exits the room, the worst-case scenario that he was afraid of, occurred in front of him, making his heartbeat increase with every passing second and his pupils fiercely widen.
Several chains of blue lightning flickered in the clouds, no sounds were made, and only the light and the constant dimming and lighting up could be witnessed.
" This is bad, quickly gather the elders and especially my two sons, and let's immediately evacuate this place till this is over; I think that someone is really planning on breaking through to the soul palace here." The Patriarch ordered as he instantly sped to the treasure vault.
After all, his clan's foundation is what's most important in such situations that involve the survival of the whole clan even more than his own life.
Many people saw the scene in the sky as they are having a sleepless night or just gazing at the pretty night sky so they can stop thinking about their bad feelings and worrying about the problems they face and simply enjoy the beautiful view.
But only a few cultivators could understand the meaning of such clouds, and that's cause they had already read about it or seen it somewhere while they were learning about the different cultivation realms.
And that's why despite the chaotic yet magnificent scene, no one was panicking or even putting much thought into what was happening and simply kept enjoying their nights.
The cultivation realms that were known to everyone were divided into five stages: Foundation Establishment, Qi condensing, Body Tempering, Soul Palace, and Godly Realm.
Each cultivation realm was as well divided into several layers before anyone could attempt to break through into the next realm, which spanned from the 1st layer to the 9th layer respectively.
As a handful of people were panicking and fleeing the town, fearful of the consequences that might hit them if they stay. And that's considering that they would survive the lightning tribulation in the first place.
The Fang Clan was totally unaware of what was happening, or better say that only Neon and his sons were clueless about the lightning tribulation cause the elders of the clan were already speeding to his pavilion to inform him about it so he could give the order to evacuate.
Storm Empire. Thousands of kilometers away from Storm Wind Town. On top of a mountain that towered over a weird creepy-looking dead forest.
A middle-aged man that was wearing green armor could be seen sitting in a lotus position, clearly cultivating as the spiritual energy around him was constantly being absorbed by him, creating several visible air currents.
" Master, Master. You told me to inform you about any letters that reach me regarding that matter, and another letter just arrived." A frail-looking boy wearing a green robe that was decorated by several snakes and a pale face added with hallow brown eyes shouted as he swiftly climbed the mountain.
The middle-aged man didn't open his eyes as he asked," Is it good news? "
" No, they are bad, and they can even delay our plan if it's not dealt with immediately." The boy brutally hit him with the truth, not considering smoothing his words for a bit.
The middle-aged man didn't think much of it, as the problems of weaker clans than him were trash and even laughable for him, but he still inquired about the problem.
" Yeah, well, let it out!! Don't just stand there stupified like some dumb idiot without a brain." The elder berated as he impatiently asked.
It didn't matter what the problem was, he simply think that such problems are beneath him to even hear about them, much less deal with them.
However, the head clan orders were absolute; hence he had no choice but to waste the valuable time he could spend on cultivation and actually spend it dealing with ants that could be stomped on with a single word from his mouth.
" It seems that annexing the second-grade clan will take a little more time since the heir of the Fang Clan fell in love with a random girl without any background nor cultivation and actually planning on marrying her! " The frail boy reported with a slightly disdainful tone.
" Master, just let me head there, and I'll finish the job in a week. Imagine being worried about mere mortals. Can't this kid really deal with the problem himself and kill them off? " The paled face boy mocked as he was eager to head there himself and squash some ants.
" You don't understand, I told him to report everything that happens to him no matter how small the problem might be. That boy is pretty cunning, and you missed his real message here." The green armored middle-aged man explained as he pondered for a moment about his next actions.
" Who cares if he is cunning or not? Strength stands above all. I don't know why our head clan made a deal with him, can't we annex the two clans ourselves? It would have been much easier to do that." The boy said, fury burning inside him as he recalled Ben's smug face when he closed the deal.
" Well, that might be true, but there are things that you don't know about him or his origin. Anyway, take two Qi condensing cultivators that are higher than the fourth layer and head there. But make sure not to act arrogant and follow his orders and not do anything on your own accord, or... " The green armored middle-aged man ordered.
The space around him instantly let out a wave of terrifying booms.
An aura that was several realms stronger and more terrifying than the young man expanded out from his form.
A faint wisp of his aura and spiritual energy washed over the pale-faced young man. Soon, his legs went weak as he dropped to the ground with a thud!
His forehead and back were fully drenched in sweat, his face had an ugly expression on him as he gazed with wide opened eyes and a trembling body at his master, he even forgot how to breathe.
The middle-aged man retracted his aura, and in a few moments, everything was absorbed in by him. And the mountain peak regained its past serene environment.
" That was but a slight warning for you if you dare to ruin our plan cause of your actions. Death will be the last thing that you gonna be worried about, do you understand?" His voice was slow and calm, but for the young man in front of him, it was like a reaper warning before he came to take your soul, terrifying to no end.
" I won't let our clan down master and especially you, so rest assured. I'll take my leave to go and execute my mission." The frail boy slowly stood up, bowed to the man in front of him, and quickly left the mountain.
' Phew! That was really dangerous and scary, my master is really serious about this operation I shouldn't let him down or else..' As he thought of the consequences of failing the mission, his body hair stood up as he abruptly pushed that thought to the back of his mind and sped to the clan not far away.
