Storm Empire. Storm Wind Town. Fang Clan Pavillion.
The faint light from the multiple candles that were situated in a circular manner around the whole room cast their light on everyone, doing their job and making sure that everyone can see on this twilight night.
The entire room was dead silent as everyone was locked on Neon, patiently waiting for his following words to see how everything will develop tonight and what is the future that was awaiting them at the end of this chat.
Ben had a confident smile and a domineering aura as he stood there like a minister of great wisdom and knowledge; his back strengthened as he gazed at Abaddon, his eyes flashing with a cold light.
Bam and Mia were at a stalemate on what they thought about the situation. Previously, Neon Fang was harsh on them and clearly gave the vibes that he isn't acknowledging the marriage.
However, like he gave birth to a double face or they don't know what was wrong with him, his manner of speech and actions abruptly turned inside out when Abaddon walked into the room as he looked to be siding with him and treating him respectfully.
Neon's voice finally echoed in the room, breaking the awkward silence that was dominating it, " Chester was your name, right? I apologize for my son's behavior earlier, he is but a little hot-blooded kid who cares for his father and wants to defend his prestige."
Abaddon stroked his beard; it kind of became like a habit for him to do so, as he seemed to inherit it from Chester's behavior and memories when he was alive and kicking.
" Okay. " His answer was short and simple, without any nonsense attached to it.
' So much arrogance for a mortal old man. Does he really think that his status was the same as us just cause his granddaughter seduced my brother or what? I promise that you won't walk out of here in one piece old man.' Ben thought as murderous intent flickered inside of him.
He was once an emperor that ruled over an entire continent; his name alone would make people tremble in fear and beg forgiveness. They even made it a rule that his name should never be spoken, not even in regular conversations with each other.
And now, after he got to this world years ago, he found out that people could get prowess that could destroy mountains and move seas. People could even live way longer than ordinary humans if they cultivate.
Hence, with his high intelligence and strategic mind, he was constantly planning on how to get an extremely safe environment and a lot of resources so he could peacefully get stronger and stronger with ease and no risks.
And he even found a mysterious sword piece that directly penetrated his mind and stayed inside his sea of consciousness the moment he touched it.
That sword's piece greatly boosted his cultivation speed, and he recently found out that in every martial art that was sword related, he could learn it on a whim and even release the attack several times stronger than what's initially supposed to be.
And now this peasant who doesn't know anything about how the world works was acting haughty in front of him like he owned the place. The fury inside of him could never be explained by mere words.
If it wasn't for the fact that his elder brother and father were here to stop him all the time, he would have already sent people to kill him the first night he slept in this mansion.
Helpless, he persuaded his father by bringing up a plan that he was working on, so he can earn his approval so he doesn't agree to the marriage, while he simultaneously sent a request to send some cultivators from his backer so he can kill these two barbarians and put an end to this waste of time.
' Big words for a mere mortal. My youngest son wasn't really mistaken; it's gonna be a great loss for the whole clan if I approve of this marriage cause of Bam's feelings. But I as well have to do it peacefully and skilfully so my son doesn't come to resent me. '
Neon sighed inwardly; on one hand, he had his clan to worry about and put its benefits above everything else, even if it comes to his son. While on the other hand, he had his son's feelings and motivation that might evolve into total chaos if he didn't handle this properly.
With a serious expression, he expressed his conviction, "I want you to understand that we are a renowned clan in this town and the surrounding areas. Therefore, if you wish to become a part of our clan, it will take more than just words. As an adult, I trust that you comprehend what I am referring to. Now share your current circumstances."
Bam clenched his fists tightly after hearing his father's words; from the force of it, his nails penetrated a little into his palm's flesh, blood dripping out of them as he stood there in bitterness and unwillingness.
' I knew that his nice words were but a show for what was to come; this is really hopeless. I should do something about this problem myself, or else this marriage won't come to pass.'
While Mia, on the side, didn't have any deep reactions to what just happened, as she really didn't understand much of what Neon meant and thought that he was just boasting about his clan's status.
Abaddon grinned when the words entered his ears.' This guy thinks of himself above others and is quite shrewd in his approach. Yet, I couldn't fully blame him; he probably thinks that I can provide nothing for his clan and that it's better for them to marry into a good clan like them instead. And that snake next to him made everything even worse for me. '
He only analyzed everything and deduced the whole situation in a matter of a few words. In fact, he could right away bring out a scroll and write a profound ranked cultivation technique or a profound ranked martial arts and be done with it.
But at the same time, problems won't be solved there as they might say that this is not real and lie to his face after they take it, and things will go down the same path.
Plus, he knew for sure that Ben would still want him out no matter what he provided and would undoubtedly cancel the marriage either way and even attempt to kill him.
' Why should I waste my time with these little conversations and mind games over a mere marriage and resources? Let's just do it my way and how I always loved to do it in the first place. This is a way quicker gain anyway than I would ever get from this marriage and time waste. '
He already got done with this stupid chat within a matter of seconds; it's not his fault, though; this is simply not his character and not how he had always done things when he used to be a Demonic Emperor.
Plus, he never had this idea before. He was gonna indeed put a scroll and write a profound ranked technique and martial art on it and try to mend things that way while he slowly got stronger till he had enough strength to kill Ben and finish his mission.
However, he abolished his whole plan and pointless multiple strategies to finish everything cleanly when he got something life-changing earlier this day.
A sinister smile appeared on his face as he stood up. He locked into Neon first and planned to leave Ben last.
Killing intent was released out of him and added with his terrifying aura that no one had ever felt nor come close to even experiencing; everyone uncontrollably dropped to the ground as their legs went weak and couldn't support their body weight anymore.
Everyone including Mia who was his so-called granddaughter and Neon who was at the body tempering realm initial stages, felt their hearts tightly clench, a cold chill run down everyone's spine as oxygen seemed to leave the room and they didn't know how to breathe anymore.
As they were washed into his aura, it was like death was standing in front of them; their minds were in total disarray that they couldn't think straight and react to what was happening only after Abaddon retracted his deep aura.
" Such a good feeling. No, this is the best feeling ever. I didn't feel this good since the moment I reincarnated into this old man's body, this so-called fortune system is really something huh!"
His words were loud and clear, it's like he didn't care if anyone heard his secrets. As he was sure that no one is leaving this room alive.
" So little ants. Just perish. "
******
A little earlier this morning. Inside Abaddon's wrecked room.
As he was peacefully sitting cross-legged in the middle of the room, going through a book that spoke about the Storm Empire's history. A prompt that sounded in his mind from the Fortune System disturbed his quiet time.
A black screen that contained several words written in red followed right after the prompt and appeared in front of him. The message was straightforward yet foreign to Abaddon as he had never seen these words before.
