Chapter 1 - Roan Artest

Inside a concealed underground chamber, there is an icy-blue coffin lying in the middle. It was placed on top of a platform with marbled stairs on four sides.

The coffin was covered in runic papers and if a Rune Master was here, they would have been shocked since the runic papers all around the coffin were intricately made. They would also be able to identify that these runic papers were meant for sealing something! The only issue was that the runic papers no longer contained aether energy, making them useless at this moment.

Looking at the chamber, it is also filled with priceless relics of the past, but these precious items are now covered in dust and molds, indicating that no one has been taking care of this place for a very long time. Despite that, with a little bit of repair, these valuable items could still be of use.

Just from one look at this chamber, anyone would immediately be able to tell that it was owned by someone of high status!

Suddenly.

Bang!

A loud sound echoed inside the chamber as the lid that covered the blue coffin was lifted off and fell to the platform. It caused a small cloud of dust to fly all around the chamber.

Meanwhile, a pair of pale trembling hands slowly emerged, grasping the edges of the coffin. Soon, a devilishly handsome man who looked to be in his early twenties can be seen sitting inside the coffin with a confused look on his face.

After a few seconds, he suddenly clutched his head and groaned with a pained look.

"Father! Mother! Everyone! Why?! I want to die with you all!" He shouted in a hoarse voice.

The man became silent as he listlessly stared upward, painting a lonely image inside this old chamber.

He stayed in that position for over an hour and when he managed to calm down, his handsome face distorted as he muttered through gritted teeth, revealing a pair of long canines. "Demonoids! I, Roan, will not let you off!" His words were filled with hatred and loathing.

This man is Roan, the heir of the Artest Family, and the prince of the Vampires! After the Vampires were slaughtered in the Great War over a thousand years ago, he is the only Vampire that remained.

At the age of twenty-one, his power is already at the peak of Disaster-Grade! He was revered as the ultimate genius among the Vampires and his position as the Crown Prince was unshakable.

However, a Divine-Grade relic changed everything.

It was the Staff of Cecilion. The weapon of the first Vampire to ever transcend the Divine-Grade and became a god!

(The power levels of this world will be explained in the next chapters. Please bear with me.)

The Staff of Cecilion is a family heirloom that has been passed down from generation to generation in the Artest Family. It was said that whoever gains the approval of the staff would be able to wield unimaginable power that surpasses the limit of the world! However, no one in the Artest Family managed to get the staff's recognition after so many years. Hence, the story of the staff was soon forgotten and only the Vampire Kings were able to gain access to this information.

Or so they thought…

No one knew how, but the Supreme Ruler of the Demonoids was able to learn about this and with the temptation brought by the staff, he summoned his Demonoid Army and attacked the Vampires all around the world just to gain possession of it.

The war between the Vampires and Demonoids lasted for a long time, but after decades of struggle, the Vampires were overwhelmed by the massive numbers of Demonoids and they ended up being annihilated. The Staff of Cecilion was also taken by the Supreme Ruler of the Demonoids. It was unknown if he was able to gain its recognition.

Roan could still remember his father's last words before he was sealed in the ice coffin.

"Roan, you are the most talented genius among the Vampires in the last century. It's a pity that you were born at the wrong time. You might have become the next Cecilion if it wasn't for this war. Goodbye, my son. I hope that you can live a carefree life in a world that is not mired in chaos and war…"

"Father…" His teardrops fell as he recalled the image of his father.

Roan stared at the black bracelet on his wrist. It has a big skull image surrounded by demonic patterns. Inlaid in the eye sockets of the skull were two rubies, gleaming with refined beauty.

This bracelet is a Divine-Grade relic that can store inanimate objects. It has a space of one thousand cubic meters!

(In this world, there is no such thing as a storage ring or storage space. And if there are any, similar to the bracelet which Roan has, they are classified as Divine-Grade relics.)

He just needed to touch an item and he can freely put them inside the space of the bracelet.

Roan activated the bracelet and saw an array of items neatly piled in the space inside. Relics, runic papers, clothes, diamond coins, practically almost everything one could think of.

The bracelet and the items inside its space are the treasures that his father prepared for him before he was sealed.

He touched the surface of the bracelet with an apathetic look on his face.

After a moment, he rose to his feet and surveyed the surroundings. This place was the concealed chamber of their ancestral home. He could tell it by just a glance.

"Zehel, show me what has become of you after my one thousand years of sleep…" He muttered in a calm voice.

(Zehel is the name of their world.)

Roan summoned a wave of scorching flames that engulfed the entire chamber. His figure soon vanished amid the fearsome flames.
