They say finishing one's leftovers without permission is a terrible offence and it's a bad habit. Yes, it sounds silly but think about it. If a person was looking forward to these leftovers the entire night or day only to check the fridge and nothing don't they have a right to be upset?
Now Quinn has absolutely no right to be upset but she honestly thought Leif wouldn't eat it so she wanted to eat that as a hearty breakfast with a cup of milk tea while streaming her favourite show.
It would have been fine if he said he woke in the middle of the night and ate it. This would make more sense but what did he say?
LC: I threw it away.
QQ: ???
LC: I don't like leftovers in the fridge.
Quinn, "???"
She couldn't help but scratch her fingers into a claw and made a choking someone gesture imagining Leif's neck in her hands. After throwing a tantrum she calmed down straightening her clothes while saying, "I am going to kill him. I am seriously going to kill him."
If you think things weren't going to get any worse, well, you were wrong. That's because he sent another message.
LC: It was your turn to make breakfast. I left hungry because you woke up late. Next time don't be late.
Quinn, 'What the...!'
While Quinn was plotting revenge for the entire day someone else was throwing a fit and planning her downfall.
Camilie honestly thought today was going to be an amazing day for her. She took her daughter to meet her future mother in law and they were quite welcoming putting her heart at ease. They had brunch by the seaside and when they left the place they were all smiles.
But as soon as they got home she received a message from her mother to check her emails. No, her mother wasn't active in the underworld or anything like that but she was super smart and had some connections that others didn't.
She sent her message to thank her but found that her mother had blocked her messages and calls which was baffling, to say the least. She took out her laptop from the case and sat down in the living room.
While her daughter was preparing some peppermint tea for digestion she was logging into her emails her brows furrowing with some impatience.
Five minutes later Camilie's complexion had changed dramatically and her fingers were trembling in anger. Her aura right now equated to that of a psychotic villain after finding out someone had screwed up her plans. Ivy walked in on her raising her hand about to smash the laptop in anger.
"Mum!" she yelled as she set the tray down fast and grabbed the laptop out of her hands. "Mum, what is wrong with you? What... why are you angry?" asked Ivy a little terrified of her that she took a step back.
"You take a look. Look at who that brat is marrying. Take a look?" she yelled causing Ivy to jolt in fright. She glanced at the laptop screen and with a clatter, she dropped the laptop angering her mother half to death.
"Pre president Carnell? How how is that possible?" stammered Ivy in disbelief.
Camilie pulled her back in frustration exposing the throbbing veins on her forehead. "Exactly. How is that possible? They don't even run in the same circles and Leif is rumoured to not like anyone getting close to him. He is like a freak of nature. If it weren't for that I would have pushed you towards him."
Hearing this Ivy hastily picked up the laptop and checked it for cracks but she sighed in relief when she saw there were barely any.
"Bu but I have a boyfriend," she said her eyes a little shifty. She had met Leif once at a horse racing event. He was sitting in the VIP lounge staring down at her.
Her friends noticed him first and nudged her to look up. When their gazes met her heart leapt in her chest her nerves tensed.
Leif was a very handsome and powerful man with a dangerous look in his eyes intertwined with chastity and a lack of interest in worldly affairs. Though one's body would exhibit signs of fight response when they saw him some women turned to gravitate toward him.
Ivy was no exception. She had a boyfriend but she was mesmerised by him. When he turned his face away she suddenly felt a sense of loss like she had been abandoned.
Any normal person would let it go but as a young woman who always got her heart's desires she thought he might have been interested in her so she created a chance encounter timed perfectly.
Ivy might appear weak and timid but deep down she was as cunning as the women in her family. Having been raised by Camilie she had leant a few tricks or two. She knew how to use her weakness to her advantage.
As Leif and his men were walking towards the parking lot after the race, she collided with them but instead of apologising and checking if she was okay, Leif jumped over her his eyes a few more degrees colder than before.
Instead, it was the security guard and a random kind stranger that came to her aid and checked if she was okay. She stupidly watched on as Leif's straight back disappeared from her line of sight. That incident was so embarrassing for her that she dared not talk about it. Now hearing her mother say that she suddenly felt stupid.
"Quinn, marrying Leif… it can't be. How did Amalie make that happen? I can't accept it. No no no I can't just. Maybe he is cured… if he is then why can't it be you? You are the perfect girl for him. You are sweet, kind and beautiful. Way better than that bear dressed up in human skin," she said before getting up.
"But mum… I already have a boyfriend and we are about to get married. Why does it matter? Just let it go," said Ivy being very sensible but in her heart, she didn't want Quinn to be with Leif. It would make it seem like Quinn was better than her when all their lives she was always the one people preferred and fawned over.
