Teo winced in pain as his limbs and lower body shot through him as if he had been grounded by a grinder all night.
Slow steps took him to the kitchen where the sound of classic songs sung by a melodious voice came from.
There he spotted his Pacific-width shouldered boyfriend dancing and singing, spatula in hand being used as microphone, sleeves up showing off his veiny arms, whilst the sizzling from the pan accompanied the melody from the speakers of his device.
Teo leaned his exhausted body against the doorframe, admiring how energetic and breathtaking his boyfriend looked like.
He eyed him flipping some golden squares within the frying pan, mouth drooling, although one could never tell if it was due to the snack on the plates or the full-course-meal of a boyfriend he got.
Josh turned around to go for the chicken, getting startled when he spotted Teo by the threshold of the door, sharp eyes focused on him causing his ears to burn into a bright shade of pink.
"M-Morning… Did the noise wake you up?"
The dark-haired asked, returning to his mission to fetch the chicken out of the fridge.
"Nope. The smell did. So what are you making?"
Teo's response was as steady as his steps, making his way to the stove.
"Breakfast. Are you fond of spicy chicken and French toasts?"
Josh spoke a lot calmer after taking the bowl with chopped chicken pieces to cover in batter.
Teo turned around in a heartbeat, detecting the bowl which Josh was holding.
"Spicy… how spicy?"
"Mid Spicy, is that ok?"
Teo frowned, shaking his head side by side, but thinking better of it before speaking as he didn't want to be seen as a baby who can't stand strong flavours even though he couldn't.
"Yeah… that's fine…"
He took a golden square of fried bread to distract himself as Josh chuckled, eyeing him by the corner of his eyes.
"Good. Be careful, I just took them out of the pan"
Teo nodded bringing it to his mouth whilst Josh added some pepper, salt and other ingredients to the batter he previously made for the bread,
When done he grabbed the small pieces with a fork to drown them into the mixture, setting them into the boiling oil, the mid layer of batter turning to crips as soon as the oil covered it.
"Whoa! Looks like nuggets"
"They'd taste even better. So any other craving my master wants this morning?"
Josh teased his boyfriend by setting the crusty bread pieces on a platter on the table.
Teo's face heated up, coughing a little to recover from that sneaky attack, covering his mouth.
He managed to say at last, "Why master?"
"My bad, young master"
Josh brought his hand to his chest, bowing to the flustered boy across him, role playing just to see his reaction.
"Hey! Why are you treating me like that?"
Teo sulked out of embarrassment as his face brightened in a deep shade of red matching the sunset on winter nights.
"Can't I spoil my boyfriend?"
Josh said sincerely, taking small steps towards the sullen boy who put his hands up defensively as if he could hide his bright face in this way, fond eyes loved his reaction.
"Shut up. It's too early to play roles…"
Josh stepped forward as Teo moved backwards until his rear hit the counter stopping his escape.
Josh extended his hand behind Teo's breath hitched, lost in those intense steel-brownish eyes which were focused on his lips now.
Or that's what he thought as Josh stepped away seconds later with a sly smile and a lifted eyebrow as he did so.
Teo was trying to wrap his head around what just unfolded, still in a daze from the older male's actions, just to realize a while later he held a spatula in that same hand flipping the golden deformed balls in the frying pan, causing his eyes to narrow.
He puckered out his lips as he was ready to lash on the older for riling him up, "You… little—"
Josh's blank expression coming back to his face yet his tone was playful as he spoke, "Not so little or you wouldn't be stiff walking this morning"
Teo clicked his tongue out, folding his arms over his chest, refusing to stare at his boyfriend so he could hide his flushed face.
"Hurry up! I'm starving"
He growled, making his way to the chair to rest up his sore body.
"As you command, young master"
Josh kept his joking game up to lighten up the environment, drawing a soft smile out of his beloved boyfriend who had troubles landing his rear against the tough wooden stool.
"Damn it… Couldn't Jack get himself some comfy kitchen furniture?"
He whined not because he disliked the style or the material, indeed he helped Jack to pick these ones, but in his current situation he despised his eclectic taste.
Josh chirped in as he found it spacious, giving him enough room to move freely without the fear to stumble with anything or anyone, "I like it, it's minimalist and saves space, besides the materials are sustainable."
Teo frowned, mouthing to himself, "sustainable my bum… hold up, this crap can't even hold itself…"
Josh whipped his head around as he heard whispers coming out from Teo's mouth yet he couldn't make out his words.
"Look at the stove you're gonna get burn"
Josh tilted his head as he just dropped more pieces of chicken inside after diving out the fried ones.
"I know I won't. Do you want a donut?"
Teo's eyes widened, considering if stuffing himself with more food would be a good idea.
He shrugged, not really minding as he could eat a horse, "Yeah, why not?"
"I'll get you one after I get this done"
Josh said, going back to the stove to roll the chicken.
"But you don't know where is the bakery"
Teo interjected as he thought Josh could need some company and a guide as he didn't know the neighborhood.
The dark-haired chuckled whilst he flipped the chicken to the other side, "I saw a store just in front of the building. Seems like that one has just what I need"
"You mean the clothing store?"
Teo's voice was curt due he couldn't find the connection.
Josh dropped the last batch of chicken balls into the pan as he spoke, the sizzling from the boiling oil accompanied his words, "Yup. Where do you think I'll get a donut for you to wear?"
"I can't wear a donut, duh!"
Teo spoke with a matter-of-fact tone, questioning how someone could possibly wear one, Josh on the other hand turned to face his gorgeous boyfriend after being done with his task, partly though.
"A pillow donut"
Josh said without changing his expressionless face bluntly, raising Teo's confusion to new heights.
Teo squealed, excited at the thought of getting a cute glaced cushioned pillow to hug at night, "¿Really? Is that like a cute plushie donut?".
Josh rubbed his chin with his index finger whilst his thumb remained beneath it, reminiscing how they look, answering as accurately as possible.
"They ain't cute, but practical. You'll feel relief when you sit tho"
Teo scrunched his nose, deep in thought, /why would a donut pillow be anything but cute? If it resembles a donut it should be cute/, however those questions remained unanswered as his best friend stepped into the kitchen followed by his crush, or maybe boyfriend?, he still hasn't asked him so he didn't know how to call him.
Jimeno sang as he ran to the table to steal some snacks from the table, "Good morning, everyone~ This looks delicious~"
Jack walked towards the fridge to fetch some yogurt for himself, "Morning, peers. How was the night?"
Josh shrugged turning back to the stove to flip the last pieces of chicken, speaking bluntly yet polite, "Not bad, it was comfy"
Jack chuckled as he wanted to joke around yet tied his tongue knowing his sins would be out if he did so.
Teo smacked Jimeno's hand when he stole one of the squares from the table, frowning.
"This is my breakfast. Get your own, sweetheart"
Josh interjected with his back facing them, "it's everyone's breakfast."
Jimeno clicked his tongue out, cheeks puffed out as he stuffed himself in a single bite with the golden squared, loving the chocolate inside melted in his mouth.
He moaned when the sweetness of the creamy texture touched his tongue, almost shivering in pleasure, "Mmm… I love it."
Jack was going to drink from the bottle but stopped himself when Jimeno's whimpers reached his ears, eyes widening. A busy Josh just laughed as he answered.
"You're welcome. Glad it fits your palate", beaming with pride as he spoke.
Different from their reaction Teo kicked his best friend under the table, pouting as he whined, eyes sharply focused on him, "Can't you control yourself? There are people here, y'know?"
Jimeno eyed him dramatically, aiming himself as if he were innocent, well his intention was to enjoy the meal so he really paid any mind to the sounds leaving his lips, so he answered offended, "Forgive me for I was tryna get my fill with these delicatessen. Don't be selfish, man. He said I can eat."
The shorter male signaled to Josh who walked over the table holding a plate with the chicken balls and a smile plastered on his face.
