Ramon listened carefully to Jake's words getting their meaning, however, his desire to protect his brother won over his reasoning.
"Still. He's most likely sleeping innocently without knowing the filthy actions happening in the next room in that hellish place"
Jake nodded, he could keep shut up yet he considered the other male was overreacting, still kept his thoughts within line.
"I don't mean to sound rude, but don't you think it's out of context? All of them are adults and if they consented then it's fine."
The honey haired tried reasoning with the large male who got triggered by the thought alone.
"My brother is an innocent being so he shouldn't have to witness such actions."
Jake noticed the other male wasn't budging so he tried to defend their actions because if he were in a situation similar he would do the same as them.
"He's older than me, according to your words, he can choose what's the best for himself, don't you think?"
Ramon closed his eyes as the younger was right yet in his eyes his younger brother still was a kid who should be pure.
"He does, but this is too much"
"Would you mind elaborating? I think it's pretty normal between couples to do."
"No, 'cause that's something only married couples do."
Jake blinked stunned, absorbing the information, concluding if he thought so that could mean he is… he is the one still keeping his purity.
"Just how old schooled are you?"
Ramon was taken aback by Jake's reply, "Old what?"
"What I'm tryna say here is: This is not the past century. Marriage is just formalities, if you like someone wouldn't you bed them?"
Jake made emphasis with his hands as he spoke so the older could throw away those old fashioned thoughts.
"No, I'd court them, work hard to build a house and when everything is settled then we could formalize our status and only after marriage I'd do the dirty dance. You know, being a gentleman."
Jake's face scrunched with sorrow as it was romantic but in a surreal way, at least from his perspective.
"Who uses 'dirty dance' nowadays?"
Jake replied bluntly wishing the older would change his mind.
"I do."
"So, you're telling me if you were to fall madly in love with someone you'd wait
The honey haired emphasized on the word 'years' because waiting that long was going to break him.
"Yeah, that's how it should be done"
"Don't you think, maybe, the other party wants some action before that? Like trying it first to see if it'd work in the long term."
"Love means sacrifice, so we are sacrificing our carnal instincts until we are legally married. Besides, having children out of the marriage is not something I want. One might leave the other and raising a child alone is tough. I had to raise my brother alone because my father was abandoned when I was still a child and Teo was just born… my other progenitor was left alone after that… they struggled raising us until we were teens and then… they were gone too…"
Jake looked down as he was selfishly considering his needs ignoring the older male's reasons.
"Are any of them still alive?"
Ramon shook his head, words died on his throat as he felt a lump building there.
"I'm sorry… You, I get you're like his father, but he might need freedom too so he can choose whatever he wants. Overprotecting him ain't gonna do him any good."
Jake held Ramon's hands seeking his dull azure eyes which caused his heart to clench in his chest when he met them.
Ramon protested with a broken heart at all the hardships he faced since childhood, how he worked hard to be where he is at now and how he wished they would still be around, "You don't get it… I lost my parents, and had to take care of a teen being a teenager myself. I can't be irresponsible as to allow a child to grow up in an environment like we did… so allowing my brother to go through that again is not up for questions either."
Jake read the pain swimming in those midnight blue eyes as Ramon spoke each word as if ripping his soul, "This is not about your brother… it's about you, right? You also got hurt by their absence. You just couldn't let it get to you because you had to be strong for him." He said hoping the large male could see he was willing to lend him his shoulder to lean on and even better to rely on if needed.
Ramon squeezed Jake's hands tightly, small tears rolling down his eyes, like the sea breaking through his glistening eyes, not wishing to show weakness but these tears he had buried deep within his heart over years wanted to escape.
Jake's voice was as gentle as the breeze, encouraging him to feel, "It's fine to be sad at times too, we ain't robots or insensitive rocks. But just because that happened with your parents doesn't mean it's going to happen to you or your brother. Guarding your heart is fine but also allowing it to feel is just as fine."
The younger honey haired pulled the taller brunette towards himself so he could embrace him, giving him some of his warmth so he wouldn't feel burdened by his parents' mistakes.
Jake craddled him whilst Ramon spoke through sobs, "Why did they leave us so soon? What did we do wrong? Did our father hate us that much?"
The honey haired patted the brunette's head which leaned against his chest, "I can't answer that… but have you ever thought about looking for him? Maybe you could feel at peace if you do", he suggested a solutions trying to not come off as pushy.
Ramon buried his face into Jake's shoulder shaking his head, not sure if he wanted to see his father ever again.
Jake's intentions to help not willing to die down any moment soon, "I can help ya if you lemme. I can get a detective to look into it. I mean, it's clear you still have things you need to say to his face."
The burly male replied from the bottom of his heart, "I just wanna know why he abandoned us, were we a burden to him?"
Jake didn't know his reasons, however he couldn't be that bad his other parent still remembered him, "If that were the case your other parent woulda told ya, don't you think so?".
Ramon let out a sigh loosening his grip whilst he pushed himself away from Jake who let him.
Somewhat Jake's words made sense as he reminisced his words, "He just said he left… Teo still hates him, although he hates it even more because our papa named him after our father, so everytime he hears 'Teodoro' he gets mad."
Jake pondered as to why one would name their own son after the person who had the audacity of abandoning them, surely there was more to it than they knew picking up on his curiosity as resolve filled him to find the man and get his answers.
"Understandable. Didn't you ask your papa why he did that?"
Ramon nodded, explaining his reasons although he couldn't take them as truth, "I did, but he said it was because Teo's personality resembled our father's when they first met before they got together."
Ramon chuckled reminiscing how hyper and willful his brother could be at times yet his kind heart and impulsive nature could get him into troubles as he tended to dig head on into things he considered good for him.
"Who got his looks?"
Jake tried to keep the conversation flowing as Ramon seemingly got lost in the down lane of memories.
"Pa said I was alike to him with my natural hair", the brunette played with the tips of his trimmed and dyed hair.
Jake gasped, eyes as wide as a deer, "Wait, so this is not your real hair color?"
Ramon chuckled at the younger's reaction, his gloomy mood dissipating with help of the younger's actions, "Nope, it's silver blonde, but I seem older like that. That's why I dye it."
Jake nodded, picturing how stunning the burly male would look, Poseidon would look like a squalid fish by his side for sure, "Would you let me see it someday?"
Ramon nodded, smiling softly, eyes calm as tears had dried by now, "If you want to maybe next month this color would wash out on its own"
Jake sang, "Can't wait for it~", causing Ramon to laugh and speak next.
"We gotta rest up now."
Jake winked, biting his tongue as he did so looking cute and funny altogether.
"Yes, boss~ As your second official I'll follow your lead", the honey haired man stood like a soldier with his right arm lined up with his eyebrows.
Ramon took Jake's hand to get him off that position as he chuckled, "That's for men serving our country, you don't need to stand like that before me".
"But you're my captain~" Jake sang as Ramon turned his back on him to get out of the kitchen.
"Stop exaggerating" the brunette's face burnt as the younger spoke in a cute yet alluring tone like sirens do by the sea to lure ships in.
Ramon turned off the kitchen lights so he couldn't see his face, walking ahead for the same reason, leading Jake to the boy's temporary room who started singing random stuff on the way playing with the older one's heart.
