The moment of bidding farewell arrived like a bittersweet memory, their eyes searching everywhere in the room when Ramon exchanged some words with Mrs. and Mr. Rivera.
Josh couldn't help but admire the blonde boy across the room who stared at the room quietly.
Jake and Angello exchanged glances, nodding at each other when they noticed Josh and Teo's behavior a bit different from last night, suspiciously.
The only naive enough to not notice it was Teo's brother who was led out of the house by Angello whilst Jake pulled his hand towards the Van, buying some minutes more for the sad lovers to at least talk for a bit before the unavoidable.
The elders followed suit behind the lively group outside of the house, chattering and laughing.
Once they were left alone Teo walked up to Josh, his steps slow almost if it were to slow the time, burying his face into his neck when he reached up to him, trying to not ruin the mood with his tears which were prickling at the corner of his eyes or getting puffy eyed which might give himself away.
They did not talk, just holding onto each other, embracing this moment to add it into their box of memories, as a silent promise they would meet again.
Teo lifted his head from his comfort zone to meet those steel eyes looking at him already, leaning their foreheads onto each other rubbing their noses, eyes closed.
Taking deep breaths whilst they held their hands tightly, at last opening their eyes mirroring their pain into their orbs, their lips finding each other pouring out their hearts into it as it was slow and heartbreaking mixed with the salty flavour of their tears oozing out of their eyes, cupping each other's cheeks.
They stopped a minute later, drying each other's' tears, lips brushing, as sad pained smiles decorated their faces.
Nodding as it was time, separating from each other, holding their hands until they reached the door.
Letting go of each other to walk outside as if to not arise suspicious.
They all bid farewell, Josh and Teo pretended with polite smiles, being honest no one of them paid much attention to what the others said, too deep into their pain to even speak more than necessary.
Josh would be lying if he were to say seeing Teo walking in the opposite direction where he was standing didn't physically hurt him, yet he kept a straight face.
Teo hopped in the Van looking back one last time seeing how the elders and Josh waved them goodbye, his heart hurt and he didn't know why it felt like something was tugging painfully at his heart so much it was almost like a torture.
Soon they secured their seatbelts, Teo stared out through the closed window, eyeing Josh silently as the Van drove away towards the no paved road back to the city.
Josh watched them vanishing into the distance, driving further away from him, he knew this would hurt as bidding farewell always hurts but this time something broke within him, he could hear how painful his heartbeat was, it was like someone was scrunching his heart like a paper ball.
The elder man patted his back offering a reassuring smile, "Do you know how to fish?"
Josh deviated his eyes from the spot where they last saw the Van to give a quick glance at the elder male.
"Yeah, I do, why do you ask, Mr?" He asked politely, masking his pain behind a half smile.
The elder male chuckled walking towards the house, "'Cause we are going to fish. I need to get some provisions for the day"
Josh nodded walking behind him, glad with his suggestion because just waiting into the room where he shared so many memories with the younger was going to be a torture without seeing him in there even if it was to pick a fight with.
~~In the Van on their way "home"~~
Angello was discussing with Jake to decide where they would stop to get lunch when they were too close to reach the highway.
Ramon intervened a couple of times to stop them from clawing at each others' eyes when things heated up a little as one wanted to get meat balls and the shorter one wanted simple kimchi rice.
Teo did not even pay attention as he was staring outside absentmindedly, feeling everything and nothing at the same time, a simple glance could tell he was numb due his overwhelming emotions were consuming him, yet he kept a calm expression alike to the calm sea before a raging storm breaks in.
His thoughts drifted back to the night he met the dark haired who took his breath away with his impacting presence smiling at how they fought the first night they spent together.
Soon the Van came to an abrupt stop which made him hit his forehead against the window, wincing as he rubbed his bumping spot.
"You could've said you were tired of driving and I would have done it" he growled, not in the mood to deal with their stunts.
Angello frowned looking at an evidently guilty Ramon who coughed, "say that to your brother who almost got us crashing against that signal."
Jake quirped, "it wasn't his fault! He was trying to not crush the poor puppy!"
"I was going to drive around him. There was no need to stick his claws on the wheels" the red haired glared at the clearly guilty male.
"What if the puppy were to run if you drove that way?" He pleaded with sad eyes weakening Angello's stern resolve.
"Next time I'll stop the damn car. Now keep your claws away. I don't want to hear any complaints."
The shorter male stated with a serious face starting the car, getting them back on the road, soon reaching the highway they found a fast food stall.
Neither Angello, nor Jake were fond of the thought of stuffing themselves with empty calories however they couldn't say no when Ramon started rambling about how he missed some road burgers with cheese sandwiches and a good beer.
"They are awesome with some cold beer in this hot weather. They are perfect to quench my thirst. I'm telling ya man this would fill me well!" Ramon spoke cheerfully.
Angello parked on the side of the road, letting out a sigh, "God. Just say you crave some food, you don't need to be so specific," his cheeks tinted in a rose pink shade and so were Jake's.
"I didn't know you were into that" the bunny-like dude pushed the door open, hopping off the Van to cool down his cheeks with the breeze hitting onto his hot face.
Ramon started describing his vision with a sultry tone, "C'mon! Who doesn't like sandwiches? Two pieces of bread wrapping around a thick big piece of meat surrounded by melting cheese on the side which oozes out with the heat–"
"Shut up! We are in a public place!" Angello groaned, throwing the door close making Teo jump a little when he hopped off.
The taller male frowned in confusion, "What's wrong with expressing my thoughts out loud?"
"Not that way, man! We aren't made out of stone" Jake muttered approaching the seller on the side road.
Ramon did not understand the meaning behind their words so Teo patted his back.
"Just don't use that tone, you could give people the wrong idea"
Ramon stared at them totally lost, soon running after them asking in worry.
"What's wrong with my tone? I didn't scream"
Angello and Jake shushed him with their finger up to their lips to silence him as people looked at his way.
Teo diverted their attention to him ordering his brother's favorite to buy them some time.
They enjoyed the food on the side road, chatting lively, Angello and Jake teasing Ramon at how he made a mess of himself eating the burgers as he stained his shirt.
It distracted Teo a little which he was thankful for and even though he wanted to know if Josh missed him too, at that same time, in a quiet zone by the sea, Josh was fishing with the older, his mind drifting back to the younger staring at the calming sea.
As an answer a big fish bit onto his rood, he fished it out finding a super tuna at the end of it. He asked the elder to take a picture with his device to send it Teo later on along with a bunch of pictures he took from the scenery and some selfies with funny faces.
Back to Teo and his little gang, when they were done eating to their heart's content they retook their way back 'home', singing old songs on the road until they reached the familiar port which now seems foreign to Teo yet he mustered a smile.
"Teo, bro! You're alive!" A short blonde male came dashing like a flash of lightning striking onto Teo sending him to the ground, landing on his butt.
