Even after Lady Rose had explained everything that Eve needed to know, Eve was very quiet, unlike her usual eloquent and sharp self. Her lashes shook and her fingers tightened around the cup that she was holding. Perhaps it was because of the wine intake, her cheeks were exceptionally rosy and she lowered her gaze. Even after digesting what she had heard, she found it hard to believe and the topic suddenly became her weak point.
Lady Rose saw her attitude toward the situation and she sighed, it was expected that Eve reacted that way. Not everyone can suddenly accept that they were eternally bonded to another person that was not their kind. But, what's the difference? After all, they were all still covered with flesh so they should be able to get along and develop a mutual understanding.
