"Close a deal with me, my human!"
I was speechless. I could feel the beating of my heart due to the pin- drop silence between us. I took some time to see whether he would budge an eye or something but he was just standing there with pleasure and patience in his eyes. I had no clue on how to react on that but I was actually looking for a response because I did not expected that there was an option of another deal. "Human?" he called out and waved a hand in front of me. "there is an option for another deal?"
"Yes human! if you want, we can actually strike a deal. A deal where we can get what we actually want!" Luka exclaimed with a thin lining of amusement in his voice. Another deal? That means I can wish well for my aunt and.....that means he will also get his selfish wish fulfilled. Everything will be alright and, "then what about our first deal?" I asked as my mind went on to other alternative possibilities. "It will go null and void!" he asserted before crashing on the couch. Null and void? That means that I won't have these powers and authority anymore? Is that good or bad? I mean....at least I will get what I want for my aunt and that is enough. I glanced at the back of his head and then my reflection, where I stood with a forceful and eloquent looking crown on my head.
I made my to where he was sitting and sat beside him with enough distance in between so I won't kill him and vice versa. I looked back at him for a mere moment and saw how he leaned his head back on the couch. He looked exhausted and probably was counting seconds to get rid of my presence. His hair also hung from his head and his neck was exposed. If he was not such an annoying jerk, he would have been perfect! He stretched and groaned in exhaustion before sitting up straight and looked over, "well, little human? What do you say?". There was an ulterior motive lingering in his eyes that was way more darker and vicious than the color of his eyes. I collected my thoughts for a bit and then nodded....it was slight nod but I had made my final decision!
"What if I become your desired ending? Isn't that what you want?" Luka asked again and that made me come back to reality.
I took a huge and deep sigh and nodded "become the happy ending I crave for my aunt and close a deal with me to wish for what you desire….isn't that what you also came for in the first place….I will make the wish to meet your desires, and you will give my aunt all my good choices' influence, this way you can get what you want and I will get what I want. So in conclusion, my aunt will have an easy and beautiful end! ". When I was finished, the look on Luka's face was...something incomprehensible. "Human, that is a BIG leap!"
"At least I won't be needed to go through the intolerable of seeing my aunt going through pain..."
"Yes....but then, all of that pain and misery would shift on you! And if you ACTUALLY perished, it would be nerve wrecking. Any human's end is on the basis of their-"
"Their deeds! I know, you told me that. But whatever my aunt did, it was for me. I know that whatever she did is counted as HER deeds but....they were for me so, this is the least I can do!" I spoke....for the first time I actually said something to him without any bitterness laced to my tone. With another shaky breath, I raised my hand to remove the diadem on my head so I can return it to him. With our first deal as null and void, this is also now....nothing. I removed the chains from my hair while I felt a gaze on my actions. "don't look at me with pity!"
"You humans ARE pitiful! I mean, you are ACTUALLY giving up power for someone you love? Pathetic!" Luka said before shifting his gaze. I just let out a bitter chuckle while looking at that beautiful piece of jewelry for the last time before handing it back to him, "I will miss the heating and cooling system that these powers provide but, you are right! Human are pitiful and love and affection makes us.....even more helpless!". I don't know what it was, but maybe the fact that I agreed to his opinion or spoke normally or did not snap back to him, made him look at me like he lost all of his hope.
I extended my hand so he can take crown from it. He stood up and looked multiple times, between me and the diadem before grabbing its one side, but he didn't snatched it from my grip. Maybe I was over thinking it or maybe he actually was concerned but it all vanished in a matter of moment before he took it away from my grip and slid it in his pocket. "I actually thought we were similar but, I will never do something so STUPID and SELFLESS for someone else!" Luka spoke with a bitter tone and turned around to leave. I wanted to answer him back but.....I just chuckled and shrugged slightly. He stopped in his tracks and turned towards me once again, he carried disbelief in his eyes. There was a hint of surprise and incredulity that lined his demeanor.
He raised his eyebrows in annoyance and strode towards me with full pace, grabbing both of shoulders and yelled, "what the fuck is wrong with you??? You are willing to die for someone who will never know about this sacrifice of yours and YOU are talking as if it does not bother you??? MOREOVER, you always talk back or give sarcastic comments here and there and NOW you are just agreeing as if ALL of it is...NORMAL??? YOU love POWER and when you finally have it, you are tossing it away! WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?!?!?!?!" there was panic in his words as well as his famous anger. I opened my mouth and shut it again before he shook my body vigorously and asked, "WILL YOU SAY ANYTHING OR ARE YOU GOING TO KEEP QUIET, MY HUMAN? WHAT THE-"
"I DON'T KNOW!"....and it all snapped. I moved away from him just a little. "I have no idea how I got stuck in amidst of all of THIS! I was actually doing well and it all fell down! Everything I cared for just...collapsed and I was not even informed of it until the very LAST minute! But when that so called 'deal' happened, I thought that I may actually have a shot but it was of no use. I had what I wanted but IT WAS USELESS! I have no motive to agree or disagree with you because I am at a breaking point where whatever low thing you say about humanity seems....correct"
"That is the problem, IT SHOULD NOT!"
"Well hate it to break it to you but that is how it is now! That's the only way I….I can save the person who saved me. You, SIR, the great being that stands in front of me can help me to save my beloved. Your wish is for me to wish the end of time, are you that tired of it all? Nevertheless, if that can help my aunt then I can cross any kind of limit that is needed to be crossed….. You, yourself, look like tired and fed up of all but to think of it if YOU really bring the endings then all the things you must have seen must have been somewhat torture like and now you are so used to it that, you became tired and want the ultimate end by YOU taking over EVERY SINGLE THING!!!". Were my cheeks wet by now? No! But were my eyes stinging from the unshed tears? Yes! Human are helpless and HE is no better!
"you make it sound like as if we are similar!" there it was, mockery in his tone and expression. "Are we not?" I hated that tiny crack in my voice that came out.
"No! We are not even close. You have this whole façade of independent mindset when actually you are weak! And here I was, thinking that you are different. I can not believe it!"

Even the most powerful of all of them had to bow in front of their weakness, one day or another...
