Alucard and Lucy stepped into a gloomy room devoid of illumination, but thanks to their eyes, it didn't feel like it was even dark. If anything, the place appeared bright from Aluacard's point of view.
"Lucy, tell me about this diary." Alucard casually spoke as he took a step forward. With his enhanced gaze, Alucard glanced at the walls. The walls were all smeared with blood, but it wasn't just blood; there were a series of symbols carved with blood in awkward shapes.
Striding closer to the walls, Alucard read aloud:
"Death to the holy church."
"The lumen empire shall collapse!"
"The light continent shall perish!"
"A new proginator is born!"
"What is all this? Why does it feel like the person who wrote this was extremely angry?"
"I think the person was indeed angry." Lucy expressed her thoughts.
"I take it the reason you are quiet about the answer is because you don't know anything about Dracula's diary as well?" Alucard noticed that the ghost girl avoided his question.
"I don't know, but that book is like a myth. According to legend, Dracula hid that book inside this manor just before his death."
"Let me guess, my father owned this manor?" Alucard didn't know much about his father, but subconsciously, there was a hint of sadness in his voice.
"Yes, your father knew about his death; that's why he made the place for you and your mouth—"
"It's enough; don't talk any further."
Noticing the sad mood, Lucy didn't speak much again.
Behind the duo, an ominous red eyes snapped open as they glared at Alucard before shutting again.
After walking for a while, the vampire and the ghost came to a halt before two pathways.
Alucard didn't think much as he took the adjacent pathway and broke into a sprint. He figured that if he tried speeding up his search, he could leave the manor quicker.
As a vampire, his stamina was pretty high, so running for almost an hour straight was as easy as pie. But he knew that if he continued longer, he'd start getting tired. But before that could happen, he came to a stop before another giant door.
This door, however, had a human skull on it—a human skull that was more than centuries old.
…Something didn't just sit right with this door... From the cracks in the door, Alucard could see intense heat radiating from the other side of the door.
"This door is suspicious." Alucard couldn't help but speak his thoughts out. But this was the worst thing about him.
When something is suspicious and dangerous, it only makes Alucard curious.
Placing his hands on the door, expecting to see a hideous monster lounging at him, the vampire pushed the door open.
As the door opened, the bright light left him blind momentarily, but a second later, his visions returned. With a blink of his eyes, the vampire's gaze fell on the shadow of a humanoid creature with saliva drooling out of its mouth; its paws appeared gigantic; jagged, elongated fangs stuck out of its mouth; and from the shadows, its fiery slit gaze fell on Alucard.
The vampire would be a fool if he wasted another second as a frozen sword materialized in his hands. He clenched the giant sword tightly with both hands as he waited for the monstrosity to show itself.
Thud, thud, thud
The monster's loud footsteps echoed as it slowly but surely walked out of the shadows.
With each ticking second, Alucard's heart throbbed wildly as adrenaline pumped through his vein.
Then, finally, the monster came into view. On a closer look, the hideous creature looked like a colossal venom with blood dribbling down from its mouth.
Seeing the monster Alucard dash forward with his great ice sword, cracking and shooting out lightning.
However, before he could perform a slash, a slimy hand grabbed him from behind and yanked him up. A giant jaw with rows of sharp teeth chomped on him!
"Fuck!"
