After a week,
Susan got a call from her father while getting ready for college, asking her to visit as he missed her. She tells her that she has recently joined the college and can't take leave from college. She assures him that she will visit him when she gets a chance before he leaves for his trip.
Susan gets down the stairs, and her mom reminds her, "Take care of the store. I had a meeting with my friend and not returning tonight."
Susan nodded to her and had her breakfast in a hurry as Katie shouted from outside, "Susan, come out. We are getting late."
Susan rushed out by taking her backpack. Both arrive at the college. Aaron welcomed Katie with a hug and Susan with a high-five. Jake greeted her, "Good morning."
She wished him back and rushed into her class by apologizing to them, leaving them behind, "Sorry. I have a class. See you later."
Jake was annoyed, as she couldn't talk to him properly, 'Is she still mad at me?'
Aaron notices him being annoyed the whole day just because she didn't talk to him nicely and left him behind because of class which hurts his ego and bothers him.
Aaron advised him, "Calm down. She always focused on her studies, unlike you lazy when it comes to studies." Jake smirked at his tease.
Aaron asked, "Are you attending the class or not? I'm leaving."
Jake beckoned him to leave, "I'm not coming." Aaron went to his class.
Jake stood alone in the corridor and observed every girl passing him, 'Whom might she be? Aaron told me she could be someone around me. Is she really from the college?'
Jane saw him from afar and asked, "Why do you stand alone? Where are Aaron and others?"
"They went to attend the class. I'm not interested." Without giving a glance at her.
"Let's go to my home. Mom returned yesterday to complete her work. She asked about you. She pleased to meet you." by holding his arm.
Jake rejected her, saying, "Sorry, Jane. Right now, I can't. I'll visit her the next day." By releasing her hand from his arm.
Jane feels upset by him, 'It looks like he was changed, unlike him in the past. He often agrees with me, even in simple matters. He doesn't want to make me upset and sad. He treats me with care, as a close friend, and as someone special to him. Now, he doesn't listen to me carefully or notice the sadness on my face. Was he truly changed? Doesn't he care for me anymore?'
Jake noticed Susan getting out along with her classmates after finishing her class, and called her excitedly, "Susan, here."
Susan parted from her classmates and walked toward him. He approaches and asks her, "Let's go out for lunch."
She enquired, "Are Aaron and Katie joining us?"
"They have their plans after their class." He replied. She was glad to hear she got to spend time with him alone and agreed with excitement.
Jane was irked seeing Susan being friendly with Jake. He left along with her ignoring Jane was still steadily waiting for him to talk.
Mark observed that Jane was furious to see Susan with Jake, standing a few meters away from her, approached her, and said, "Don't hype your blood pressure. He is just trying to win the bet. We all knew Jake was never the one who was serious about relationships. He wants to win over her. She is not a threat to you."
Mark's words make Jane relaxed. Mark asked her to go out for lunch with him. She agreed and followed him.
