Everyone is taking a break now from their training. Except Otta and Frad, who were just chilling around.
Otta was searching the area around, while Frad was helping Kate bandage those who needed it.
"I still haven't awaken my powers yet.. maybe I don't have one at all." Kinsei muttered as Frad helped him apply medicine on his body.
"Maybe your mental fortitude is just higher, or different." Frad said, "I remember a friend who only awaken when another friend got severely injured."
"Probably different. I doubt my mental fortitude is higher than any of you." He said, as his body flinched a little, "Everyone here had experienced something shitty, but I just grew up in the love of a family."
"Only time will tell." Frad replied as he bandaged the wounds, "You have to stop training the next few days."
Kinsei didn't say anything and just glanced at Reginald and River, who were joking with each other and changing the forms of water. He shifted his gaze and saw Dealla getting wrapped, and Sezia gave tips on her power. Finally, he looked at Otta, who was looking at her phone.
He sighed and looked back at Frad, who was finishing dressing the wound.
"Mr Frad, how did you awaken your power?" He asked when Frad kept the medication in the box.
"I don't exactly remember." He removed his cap and placed it on Kinsei's head, "But I know when the time is right, you will awaken your power. Don't worry too much about it."
"Sir, are you bald?" Kinsei looked closely at Frad head, who hit his head.
"My head isn't shiny, I still have bits of hair alright." Frad argued, "It's troublesome to have long hair like you, maintaining it at least."
"But if you have long hair, you can just flip it at people face." Kinsei closed his eyes while explaining, "And it isn't that hard to maintain. You're just lazy."
"Maybe cutting your hair off will awaken your power." Frad rolled his eyes, and Kinsei held his ponytail back.
"That's not how it works, right?" He blinked his eyes doubtfully
"Who knows, people awaken differently. Maybe your power will be to control hair growth, or other people hair." He joked, causing Kinsei to laugh.
"That would be cool." He nodded, "I pronounce you, bald! And just make the enemy bald."
The two laughed for a moment. Frad tapped Kinsei's cap and walked away to Reginald and River.
Kinsei pushed the cap up a little, 'I can't protect anyone if war really happens.' He frowned at that thought, 'Awakening is pushing past the mental fortitude, and this isn't enough. What about near death experience?' He looked down at his bandaged hand, 'I feel so weak..'
River threw a water ball at Reginald's face.
"I guess only elements you produced you can use." River said, as Reginald was wiping his face.
"Anyone needs first aid?" Frad asked, as River shook his head, "Alright." He walked back to the van.
"Hey, what about the pain you experienced?" River asked, "You can transfer pain when your in contact with them."
"Hm." Reginald pinched his skin and poked River face.
"Yea I can feel that pinch pain." He pondered, "If your muscles are sore, you can pass the soreness to others?"
"I have a weird power.." Reginald looked at his hand, "My dad power is fire. How did I get this?"
"Power isn't genetic." River shrugged, "Your power is pretty handy too."
"Is itt..?" He dragged the 'it' out a little.
"You definitely can become a trainer. Imagine training with a bunch of people. They think you are a good leader, than if anyone looks like they can suppress you, you transfer any pain or soreness onto them, and bam you look always more fit than them." River slowly explained, causing Reginald to feel a sweat dripping down the back of his head.
"Interesting plan.." He replied, "I will think about that."
River continued sharing different kinds of plans, as he got more excited the more he thought of new ideas.
Soon after the break, everyone trained till the moon hung high.
Tents were set up by Otta, Frad, and Kate, who weren't training.
"Why didn't we set tent when we first came out?" Kinsei asked as he watched Reginald set the campfire.
"Because we will be leaving that area soon, there wasn't a point." Dav explained, "We will be staying around this area for a few days."
"Eh? Why?" He asked as Dav shrugged his shoulders.
He replied, "I'm not sure too."
"Will there be stars tonight?" He looked at the moon hanging high.
"Probably not." Otta said as she looked at her phone.
Everyone is set at a circle around the campfire, and at this moment. Everything just felt peaceful.
"Have you guys heard of the myth," Kate slowly started narrating, "That deals made with angels or demons can't be broken? Or the one who broke it dies."
She glanced at everyone, who looked like they didn't mind her story.
"So this deal between a naive angel and a cunning human was made. The human made the deal where both parties can make one request from each other.
Without thinking much, the angel made the deal.
Before the angel could make their request, the human requested the angel to go and kill their kins. Because the human believed that angels was the reason the demons even came here.
However the angel went and kill the demons instead. Using their life to at least kill the demons."
Kate paused for a moment, as she spread her hand out, "In the end, turns out that the demons was their kin! Dun dun dun!"
"What happened to the human?" Kinsei asked, feeling confused about the story.
"When the angel found out, they didn't kill the human. Instead their request to him was to live well." She finished off the story.
"Where did you get this story from?" Reginald asked, "I haven't heard of it from any people in my town."
Kate placed her hand on the log she was sitting on, "My grandpa. Interesting, right?"
"It is just a story in the end, probably to be told as a bedtime story for you." Otta didn't look up from her phone the whole time.
"He said he told this story in hopes I don't abuse anyone kindness." She grumbled, "Not just a bedtime story."
"In the end, does Angel and Demon even exist? Maybe it's all just a cover up to explain how powers come about." Dav said, "I don't believe what I don't see."
"Angels and Demons does exist." Sezia spoke with her mouth full, "After a few days, the grassland not far from us," She swallowed her food, and smirked, "You shall see than."
Suddenly, a strong breeze blew, putting out the flame.
Everyone felt a shiver up their spine.
Sweat slowly formed on Sezia's forehead, as she saw in the air not far from them. "What the hell?" A pitch black line.
River had his fingers stretched out, as he also felt sweat dripping down his forehead, 'What's this feeling?'
Something zipped past their head, as all they could see was a humanoid figure with a pair of wings flapping across them.
Sezia and River let out a breath they didn't realise they were holding in.
"What was that flying thing?" Dav was the first to ask, "Is there a monster nearby? Isn't it winter soon?"
"I will go run to get fire started.." Reginald head hung low as he went to build up heat.
"Didn't anyone told him we have matchstick?" Sezia asked as Reginald went to run.
Otta and River replied.
"Save resources."
