Aaron's pov
Little only walked a few steps and then decided to sit on the pavement? This came to me as a shock.
How can a person so bold give up this easily?
The car skids to a stop in front of her.
She is crouched under the street lamp with her head down and her hands entangled in the disheveled mess of her hair. She is focusing hard on the concrete road beneath her.
Maybe she is cursing it for hurting her badly that she couldn't even walk a short distance.
I roll down my window and command "Get in".
She is so absorbed in the world of her own thoughts that my voice makes her shudder.
Her head jerks up, fear painted across her face as if she was struck by lightning.
Was my voice that hoarse that it made me look like some sort of a thug?
Tears are racing down her cheeks. Her emerald green eyes, shining because of the tears welled up, search mine.
The moment she figures out who I am her expression changes completely.
She wipes her cheeks and tucks her hair behind the ears, and slightly nods her head.
It is hard for me to interpret that vague expression. Did her face ease after seeing a familiar face or did she get annoyed at the failure of her evaluation?
Was she expecting a prince to come save her or a thug to kidnap her?
Wait am I not better than a prince?
After she has let out a deep breath she looks at me in the eye again.
The street light above illuminates her face.
Damn she is so gorgeous. I take my time to study her fragile features.
That small face seems so innocent when it is all red from crying.
She tilts her head and studies my expressions.
I swirl my face straight.
'No I wasn't staring at her' I assure myself.
"We don't have all the time in the world" I mumble
Surprisingly she complies with my command and slowly starts to get up.
Was I even audible?
I ask Mr. Han to help her up and so he does.
She cautiously gets in the seat beside me as if she is contemplating her actions and buckles up.
"Drive" I say and the wheels roll.
Little seems to be tense as she keeps fumbling with her dead phone; it's more like she is letting her panic out by moving her hands that vigorously.
I am definitely tired of mentioning her as Little in my head.
"I didn't get your name last time" I say calmly to break the ice.
A meek smile stretches across her face.
"You broke your promise of forgetting about me" she speaks in a soft voice.
"Well I did forget about a clumsy waiter but I didn't think you would accept the fact that you were really him"
It's a sense of victory
I chuckle under my breath just by the thought of this success; I played her well.
"What you think it's funny?" she says as she frowns and she crosses her arms at her chest.
Well that was a sudden change of tone.
She continues "We aren't acquaintances to each other. It will be better if you just stay quiet"
She remains silent for a while then speaks up again.
"I don't know the address to the place where I live"
How is that even possible? I think but say nothing and hold my stern expression. After all she was the one who started being cold in the first place; even though, I tried to calm the atmosphere among us.
"It is something I can't explain, so if possible lend me your phone. I need to call my friend"
"Don't find ways to get my phone number" I retort.
I easily lit her on a fire; I can see the flicker in her eyes.
She lets out a deep long sigh.
"You aren't that important" she says scornfully.
"Thinking of which you are not important to me either"
"Then why did you come back?"
This person is literally something how can she think so highly of herself.
"Don't get your hopes high that man", I point my head in the direction of Mr. Han, "gave you the wrong directions and wanted to make up for his mistake"
'I don't even want to see the face of a con like you' but I keep these words to my head
"As if" she mutters.
We drift our faces to the opposite sides.
She interrupts the peace of my mind again by striking a stupid question.
"You are taking me to the doctor right? I think I fractured my ankle, it is burning"
"Are you thinking of a different place?" I blurt.
Maybe she likes forming the hell out of crap. She wouldn't have been this calm if it were a fracture.
Then a thought strikes my mind.
What if this troublemaker spurs more trouble for me in the future?
'Mr. Han change of plans we are going somewhere else'
I hit send on my phone's screen.
The message notification of the new location bings on Mr. Han's phone.
