Olive's pov
I messed up once again.
I can sense Mr. Cruel victorious grin from the corner of my eye.
Honey…
Wasn't there a better word for me to call him out?
The officer in front of me tries to assure that my 'honey' is the best man I could find on earth.
"Miss", he asserts," do you remember that mans' face?"
I nod my head in disapproval "I was running fast and couldn't turn back to see his face clearly"
"Do you know why you were being followed?" he asked.
I can't come up with the answer so I start crying even harder, well it's more like even louder as I was already sobbing a bit for improvisation.
"Honey…", I address my not so honey fake stranger boyfriend, "it hurts so much yet the officer is asking me so many questions. I am so afraid already and I can't even remember…"
I suddenly stop talking.
It's just no use. I can't handle it anymore.
I spin my head towards Mr. Cruel.
Holding a serious expression I blurt "I think it's time for us to break up"
A gasp escapes from the officer and he covers his mouth.
"You didn't prioritize my health, I don't want to be your girlfriend anymore", I quickly say and turn around.
I can't face him.
Surprisingly, Mr. Cruel has been quiet for long.
He doesn't utter a single word.
I feel so lonely at this moment.
This is what my need brought me.
Had I not taken up the job for money nor would I land in such an awkward spot today.
"I'm sorry" he finally speaks.
This can't be true. Am I hearing it wrong?
I turn swiftly and look him in the eye.
Ugh. Filled with mischief.
But whatever comes next I hope It's better than being stuck in a police station.
