Aaron's Pov
I feel uneasiness.
It's suffocating
I snatch my bow tie off and unbutton my shirt collar.
I can't believe how angry I became and how I vented all my anger.
She was stubborn as ever. Who cares if she is abducted or injured?
Surely I don't.
My mood is annihilated and I am opposed to act pretty anymore. I can't bear to sit across a stranger and listen to the constant chatter of self praise or how they find me attractive.
I call Eric.
"You reached there already big brother?"
"Cancel it" I say nonchalantly and hang up the phone.
It keeps buzzing for a while. I simply ignore it.
Eric must handle this on his own now.
I catch a glimpse of Mr. Han looking at me through the rear view mirror.
He averts his eyes and focuses on the road when I display a questionable look.
"What" I ask
"Sir should we head home?" he says meekly
"I don't want to, Eric will throw a tantrum and I am in no state to handle him acting like a child"
"Then?"
What's going on in Mr. Han's head?
"Just keep driving straight, go wherever the road takes us" I say to stop his constant expression of wanting to say something.
"In that case can we help that little girl?" he finally speaks his mind.
"Who?" I retort even though I know whom he is referring to.
"The one we just left on the road"
"She isn't little and she can take care of herself"
"Sir, do you happen to know her?"
That query makes me acknowledge her abilities with a condescending sneer.
"She is the one who cross dressed at the café"
"Oh I see"
Mr. Han remains silent for a while. I in the meantime scroll through my phone.
The weather updates render a temperature drop tonight.
"By the way", I speak up, "how far was the bus station from there?"
"The road we took was an alternative path. It is seldom used by people and the bus stop was nowhere near it" Mr. Han replies anxiously.
"Then what did you scribble on the palm of her hand?"
"Just some lines"
I am bemused.
My fist drops to the seat with a loud thud
"Are you kidding me? You looked so confident back then, and now you are telling me you messed up"
"She wouldn't have been able to walk anyways her ankle was probably fractured" Mr. Han tried to sound convincing.
Looks like I am not the only one who is cruel.
"Sir I had no option"
"Then why are you being sensible now?" I reply with exasperation.
"I feel guilty" Mr. Han drops his head.
Why is he making it seem as if he is the only one who cares about mankind and can right his wrong?
"After all she is just a little girl and she is injured too what if the man who was chasing her comes again?"
"Stop being fussy"
The atmosphere is so tensed up.
"Turn around" I command
Mr. Han turns his head and half body to face me
"Not you the car I mean"
