Chapter 45 - Rox Cravensworth

Arriving at the big fire, Melina hugged Christopher's neck and pulled her face closer, resting it on his left shoulder.

Feeling his scent, she looked like a drug addict, a drooling expression took place on her face.

'This is like a dream hehehe~' her mind went to the seven heavens but quickly returned when she heard what Christopher said.

"Tomorrow, I'm going to leave for the first Lord's territory."

A shuttering sound was heard in Melina's mind as her world ceased to exist, while Ardelean burst in laughing.

["Hahahaha, that was too fast my friend. Look at her now."]

Christopher tried to pull Melina away from him to look at her face.

Yes, he tried...

"Melina. Let me go," Christopher spoke when he felt Melina's fingers piercing through his clothes and thrusting into his skin making his blood flow down his back.

She didn't want to let him go.

Her eyes gleamed with dark madness, her hair took blue tones, and her body started leaving a weird aura that reminded Christopher of a certain two men working for his mothers-in-law.

'Thomas and Marcus? Why do I feel a familiarity between her and them?' he thought but shook his head when slight pain hit his shoulder.

Melina was biting him to reveal her frustration.

"Melina?" Christopher asked in concern.

Suddenly, "Haha, hahaha, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Melina laughed like crazy and when she stopped, she started whispering into his ear.

"You can't leave you know! I LOVE YOU! And we are going to get married tomorrow so you can't leave. I'm not going to let any bitch steal you away from me hihi. There is no way out. We are going to be together forever. Together forever, together forever, there is no way out!"

Hearing this, Christopher shuddered as his senses without warning exploded with love which made Melina look even more charming to him.

His blood-red eyes started glowing, and black veins appeared around his eyes and started pulsating as he hugged her, sniffed her neck, and bit her.

Her blood was delicious.

Feeling her blood leaving her body, she was in disbelief at how much pleasure it brought to her.

["Christopher? You are slowly killing her. She is a human, not a vampire!"] Ardelean's voice started resonating in Christopher's mind but it felt like he was lost in lust and hunger.

The people around were dancing and to all of them, it looked like Melina and Christopher were dancing too.

["CHRISTOPHER!"] Ardelean shouted and only then Christopher understood what he was doing.

Thanks to the fact that he became a plebeian vampire, he lost all the control he built over the time he was on Earth and fell over to his desires like a five-year-old kid.

Melina felt that Christopher stopped sucking her blood so she started caressing the back of his head, pushing him gently back to her neck, and when she wanted to tell him to continue, another pleasure wave hit her.

This time, he just licked her neck to close the mark he made on her, but for her, it was almost at the same pleasure level as the blood-sucking session.

"Darling~ ... Ahnn~ ... Don't stop~!" Her sweet voice and her soft body that was melting in his arms and pushing against his, were driving Christopher's senses crazy.

On one side, he wanted to take her to his room to slowly suck her blood all night, which would obviously kill her.

But on the other side, he was holding back.

Until a thought popped into his mind. He will turn her into a vampire!

As he was about to bite her neck again, a blue barrier stopped him and sent painful electric impulses through his fangs.

["That's a magic! Only the most powerful vampires can turn her..."] explained Ardelean with obvious confusion.

["But why would someone want to protect her from this?"]

'This is weird but also interesting' replayed Christopher wondering why she was protected by this kind of magic.

Understanding his new goal and powerlessness, he needs to gain his previous bloodline back first and that is a long way, but he will definitely turn her.

She can't escape anymore. She wanted this, he would grant her wish.

Because of his extremely sensitive emotions, 'like' turned into 'love' and 'love' then turned into a 'possession' and 'obsession', all in a matter of seconds.

Yes, he was influenced by his wives' crazy personalities a lot too!

"Darling?" suddenly, Melina pointed at something in the distance and spoke in a tired voice.

"Who are they?"

Christopher turned his face to where Melina was pointing with his lips and chin covered in her blood and he saw five individuals in the distance running on roofs towards them.

"Mark!" Christopher shouted and cleared the remaining blood from his face as Mark ran out of the Tavern and Christopher handed Melina to him.

"I kinda lost control and sucked her blood..."

"You what?" Mark wanted to say more but was cut off by Christopher who grabbed and turned Mark's head at the invaders.

"Take her to my room. We have a company," Christopher spoke, Mark nodded and went back inside the tavern.

"What happened to her?" Jack asked in concern but Mark just said "All of you, go out and help Christopher. We have invaders!"

After four minutes, Jack and the other five men in the Tavern walked outside with weapons and ordered all women to go hide inside the tavern, while Christopher was watching the five 'visitors' with his blood-red analyzing vision the system granted him.

"Vampires huh?" Christopher spoke.

["Yes, and pretty strong ones. The youngest are at least six hundred years old."] Ardelean noted.

"Let me test them then," spoke Christopher and turned at the men that stood behind him.

"Protect your wives and children with your lives like a true and strong man would," he said and all of them shouted in unison.

"YES!"

Christopher nodded in satisfaction and teleported himself to one of the closest roofs that the vampires would most likely use, for sneaking, next.

["Christopher, Vampires here are different than those on Earth. The Vamps here don't have any supernatural abilities like your wives do."]

["Except for the transformation ability to turn into bats or fog, and some mind control abilities they just have the original bundle of higher strength, speed, etc. Nothing special which means you can kill them with good old decapitation or by pulling out their hearts. Or Sun and flames can burn them to ashes,"] Ardelean spoke.

'Good to know,' Christopher smiled internally and waited for the Vamps to arrive.

"Hello there" he spoke in a sarcastic tone, while a wide smile was plastered on his face.

The five vampires appeared on the roof like he planned and one of them that stood in the middle took a step forward.

All of them were dressed in black medieval, and aristocratic outfits with red details.

The one who stepped in front had blond hair and blood-red eyes with an arrogant expression.

He was 190cm tall and had a confident posture of a ruler with respect but the only thing Christopher felt from him was his arrogance.

"Ohhh, you must be the adventurer that destroyed our subordinate's village right?"

"If you mean the Ogre's village then yes that's me. You have a problem with that?" Christopher nodded.

The vampire smirked but immediately regained his cold expression again.

"Yeah, we have a problem with that. My name is Rox Cravensworth, son of Lord Cravensworth himself if you don't know that. And you became our enemy. Only if you give us an equivalent exchange for our loss, like this village for example, you would be spared," spoke the blond vampire in the middle.

"My name is Christopher Salvatore and I don't give a fuck about your loss," Christopher spoke.

It wasn't even a minute and Christopher was already annoyed by Rox.

Rox narrowed his eyes 'This one is irritating.'

He felt like he was talking to his older brother.

No one in Rox's life, except for his brother, ever talked to him like Christopher because they feared his father.

Christopher, with his wide smile, moved his head to the left and spoke "What's wrong dickhead? Are you going to cry? This is not your home you know."

Then, with a swift move, he appeared in front of Rox, saying "This is Enemy territory," and punched Rox in his stomach, sending him flying backward.

From the start, he couldn't hold back. He is dealing with five Vamps at least six hundred years old.

"Why did you come here anyway?" he asked as Rox adjusted his position in the air and landed on his feet quietly on the roof, a few meters behind his group.

Rox looked at him when he heard the question and immediately disappeared.

Christopher narrowed his eyes and instinctively looked at the window of his room.

Rox who was hiding in near shadow, smiled when he saw that and wanted to run into the tavern, but was stopped near the entrance by Jack and the other men.

"Hahahaha, what is this? A security? Hahahaha," Rox laughed but immediately stopped and shuddered when he suddenly heard a response in his left ear.

"They are my friends," Christopher smiled widely "But you should take them seriously, they are Vampire hunters."

The Vamps on the roof just watched this with wide eyes because Christopher just a few seconds ago dissolved into shadows right in front of them, which is something no one of their race could do. Probably just Vampire mages but they are more connected to blood than shadows.

Quickly turning his face, Rox saw Christopher's right hand colliding with his chest, aiming for his heart but it looked like his body was stronger and Christopher's hand couldn't penetrate it.

Therefore, Christopher quickly squeezed his other fist as hard as he could, mastering all his strength, and in the next second, Rox felt Christopher's fist on his left cheek as his body quickly spun in the air and flew into a nearby house forming a big impact.

["Good Christopher. You should head back to the roof now..."] Ardelean suggested as Christopher had the same idea.

The four remaining vampires prepared themselves to fight but were surprised when Christopher just went back to his spot where he was before.

'This man is too chaotic!' thought one of them.

A few seconds later, Rox walked from that destroyed house with wide eyes, thinking 'He is stronger than I thought.'

Patting his suit, he looked at his right arm which was slowly healing, and went to his group.

Arriving there, he looked at Christopher who was wearing his normal smile, and thought 'Something is not right about him, but WHAT IS IT!'

Rox's senses screamed that Christopher was weaker than them but what he managed to do a minute ago was a demonstration that he was not so easy to deal with.

"You are an interesting subject, Salvatore," Rox spoke like a filthy fox.

"Yeah I know, but I asked why you and your useless friends came here?" Christopher spoke.

The four vampires cracked their necks and fists while Rox spoke "Let's see if they are useless."

He nodded and the four vampires disappeared into thin air.

Not wanting to show his concern about Melina, Jack, and Mark again, Christopher stayed unfaced outside, but with his senses, he was alerted and 'watched' his friends.

["Provoking a narcist like that was probably not a good choice host,"] Ardelean spoke in concern which made Christopher alerted a little more.

'Maybe, it was a really bad choice' he thought.

Suddenly, his senses exploded when he heard Rox's voice.

"What value are you giving to the girl's life?"

Christopher looked at him with unconscious madness in his eyes which was enough for Rox.

"So you love your food huh? Guys? Take that girl in the Tavern!"

When the last word came from Rox's mouth, Christopher dissolved in shadows and disappeared from that roof.

Appearing in front of one of the vampires that were closest to Melina, while pulling his sword out, he smiled widely.

Rox's and the vampire's eyes widened simultaneously.

Rox's because of what Christopher did 'cause' before, he didn't see it and the Vampire's because of the sword.

When he saw that sword's handle and the crest on it, he tried to back away immediately, but was too slow because, in the next second, his head was pierced by Christopher's sword.

Full of rage and madness, Christopher unconsciously activated the skill that Mark showed him and released the orange flames from that sword's blade.

The vampire started screaming and after a few seconds, Christopher pulled his sword out and the vampire died, leaving only a piece of red coin in ash on the ground.

Christopher picked it up but didn't have time to look at it more closely 'cause another vampire from that group tried to get into Christopher's room through the window.

Seeing this, Christopher's rage doubled as his left hand released the darkness hook, and the blade of that hook, looking like one of Christopher's previous tentacles he had on Earth, flew towards the vampire, piercing him from behind.

The vampire wanted to scream but Christopher pulled himself up and pierced the vampire's neck with his sword from behind, leaving the vampire to die in the flames like the one before him.

"Two down, three left," he said and picked another piece of the coin, a little different.

Rox, who saw that two of his best men and friends died in one minute, was furious.

'He was right, they are useless' he thought but watched Christopher with an impressed gaze.

'That man has something that even my dad doesn't have' he thought.

"Christopher!" suddenly Jack shouted and when Christopher looked at him, the two remaining vampires already killed three of the six men who stood outside the Tavern.

The only three that remained were Jack and two hunters.

Christopher didn't wait and went to help them and while he was fighting in front of the tavern, Rox used this and slowly started sneaking behind the tavern.

Coming inside through a window of one of the rooms, Rox opened the doors and casually walked on the corridor while whistling a creepy melody and dancing like an angel of death.

Arriving in front of one of the rooms, 'Let's see who is here' he thought and kicked the door of Christopher's room open.

In the middle of the room stood Mark and on Christopher's bed lay Melina.

"Ohh, hello" Rox waved and walked inside.

"Leave or you are going to regret coming here, Cravensworth," Mark spoke as he tightened his grip on the hammer and kôl he held.

"Oof, scary~" Rox laughed and when Mark launched himself on him, Rox casually punched him in the stomach and sent him flying out, through the window.

Mark landed on the square with a loud thud sound which made Christopher look at him.

"MARK!" he shouted and shifted his gaze at Rox who waved at him from the window of his room.

"You are going to pay for this," Christopher whispered to himself and turned his gaze to the remaining two vampires.

Full of rage, he grabbed Jack's shoulder "Go and look at Mark. I'll finish them."

Jack and the two hunters nodded and went to help Mark while Christopher stood alone against the vampires.

"So brave," one of them commented and when he launched himself on Christopher, he literally disappeared from existence in a fraction of a second.

The other one just opened his eyes wide and took a step back, feeling something was not right.

Using his vampire vision, he saw Christopher in the middle of something that resembled a bubble of some unknown energy.

'A barrier? Just how many special abilities does he have!' the vampire thought but was taken by surprise when Christopher suddenly disappeared.

Looking around, still with his vampire vision, he couldn't find him.

"Why are you hiding-"

"!!!"

*COUCH! The vampire wanted to say something but his voice was cut off by Christopher who suddenly appeared from the shadows and pierced his neck from behind.

But, when he tried to use the power of his sword, it didn't work.

'Why are the flames not working anymore,' he questioned himself.

["You used all the flames that the sword had stored,"] Ardelean spoke.

'What do you mean?' Christopher didn't understand.

["I mean that this sword is working like a battery that is constantly absorbing the power that is around through the blade and storing it inside."]

["The flames that the sword absorbed when you were with Mark were all used when you killed the previous vampires."]

Christopher opened his eyes wide, understanding now.

'What power have the sword now?' Christopher immediately asked.

["Nothing, just the Ogre's poison and blood of the two vampires,"] Ardelean replayed.

Christopher nodded and concentrated on the poison.

A second later, the vampire's body started slowly dissolving.

He tried to scream from the pain but was silenced by the sword in his neck that was sabotaging all of his attempts while slowly and painfully killing him.

After a minute, the vampire fell to the ground and all that was left was dust from his bones that was taken by the wind and a last piece of the red coin.

Ignoring the coin for now, Christopher took it and burst inside the tavern and when he arrived at his room, Rox was already holding Melina while drinking her blood like a nasty pig.

"NO!" Christopher shouted as his body started covering darkness.

But it was different from the normal.

This time, the darkness had red 'veins' that were constantly pulsing and flowing through the darkness.

Christopher now looked like a creature from hell that came to take Rox's dept.

"You are going to pay for this, Rox!" Christopher's voice became distorted more than before.

Rox shuddered a little at this creepy image and voice but then smiled and waved at Christopher "I'm waiting for you," before he jumped from the window with Melina.

Christopher immediately flew towards the window and jumped after them.

Suddenly everything around slowed down.

Rox was falling with his back towards the ground while widely smiling and holding Melina close, with her back pressed against his chest, still drinking her blood.

Melina, who suddenly opened her eyes a little, looked at Christopher and extended her left hand towards him.

Christopher, who was after them, did the same but only their index fingers met each other and only for one second because then, a dark portal appeared behind Rox and he flew through it with Melina still in his arms.

Before the portal closed, Christopher heard Rox saying "You failed Adventurer," with a big smile, then the portal closed itself, and only then did Christopher land.

The darkness, he was covered with, formed a wave of dark power and erupted from him, flowing through the ground and disappearing right after as his eyes turned lifeless with a cold blood-red glow.

"RAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!" Christopher shouted out from rage as he started punching the ground under him, dealing big damage to the property around.

Mark, Jack, and the two hunters saw this because Mark was lying near Christopher with tears in his eyes.

["Christopher?"] Ardelean asked in concern.

After a few more frustrated punches, Christopher replied 'Yes?'

["I know where she is,"] Ardelean spoke.

Christopher immediately stopped punching the ground and got up 'Where?'

["She is in Sangruil, Cravensworth's territory,"] Ardelean spoke and showed Christopher the map, showing the town with a red glowing dot.

'How do you know that?' he asked.

["When your fingers connected, I transferred a little amount of your power inside her body. It will form a barrier that will protect her for some time, but it can be broken by force."]

["Sorry, I didn't have time for more."]

'It's okay, thank you,' Christopher spoke.

["The main thing is that with the help of your power, I can find her location and we can rescue her."]

Christopher took a deep breath and started looking for the best abilities he had at his disposal, forgetting he had just a few.

'Fuck, I don't have the right amount of power to rescue her.' Christopher noted, frustrated and filled with regret.

["Look at the coin,"] replied Ardelean as the four pieces of the red coin appeared in Christopher's hands.

One after another, he got them together and when the coin was complete, it started glowing red until...

*BOOOOOM

A small explosion happened and Christopher's body glowed with red light.

The female voice of the system started speaking 'You unlocked a Vampire bloodline skill tree. Now, you can upgrade your vampire skills.'

Ignoring the voice for now, Christopher turned his face at Mark and walked towards him.

"I know where she is. I'll bring her back," he spoke and Mark nodded.

"Yeah, I know. But for now, you need to rest," he said and with Jack's and the hunters' help, he got up.

Arriving at the tavern, Christopher went to his room and lay on his bed, feeling Melina's sent all over it.

"I'll bring you back. I promise," he said to himself and looked at his hand with interest, covering it into the darkness that now had the permanent red veins.

They looked like they were made from the blood itself.

Christopher then just, shook his head, changed his hand back to normal, and slowly fell asleep from using too much Mana in that fight.

In the corner of the room appeared a face with purple eyes and a wide smile, thinking 'You are on the right way Christopher. Just follow the path...'

Then, it disappeared from everyone's sight but remained in that room.

...

[... Sangruil's castle ...]

"This is your new home," Rox said and threw Melina into one of the old cells that were under his father's castle.

The little darkness essence in her body was quickly regenerating her blood so she was practically immortal against sucking blood.

Melina slowly got up and sat on the bed that was in that cell.

"Christopher will come for me!" she shouted at him.

Rox smirked and slammed the metal bars, locking them right after.

"That's the plan," he said and then turned, leaving.

Malina waited until he left and then quickly got up and stood on her bed because above her bed was a small window with the same bars, preventing her from escaping.

One, little rusted bar, caught her attention and it moved a little when she pulled it.

She smiled and slowly lay on her bed again, knowing that she had a chance to escape and she was going to take it.

And she will start tomorrow night.

...
