"I am sincerely sorry for causing a damage on your car and I'll take whatever punishment you have for me, however, I will pay the expenses for the damage but it'll take a lot of time before I could pay off the money."
This time around, she was looking at him closely in his eyes and she certainly did not miss the way he raised his left eyebrow ever so lightly, she thought it was a good sign that he did one single movement even though it was a small one.
Trevor was completely surprised at her words, he had expected her to start crying and thrashing around because he thought women were always like that, petite and frail.
His hazel eyes scanned her from top to bottom and he could tell she wasn't from one of those rich elite family, she looked average and…beautiful.
Trevor also did not miss the kind of car she drove and she even used it to cause a damage on his own car that could buy twenty of her old car. He actually wasn't bothered about the little damage on the car, he could always get it fixed or may even decide to abandon the car to get another one or drive his other cars in his garage. He only came out of his car out of curiosity, to know who could stupidly damage an expensive car by accident or intentionally and he never expected to see a woman, he had expected to see maybe a drunk man or a novice driver, or probably a daring thug who had a death wish, a woman never crossed his mind.
She wanted to pay? When she looks like she can't afford it? How interesting, let's see how she pulls this off.
"Take a lot of time?"
His voice rang out of his mask, it was so deep and majestic and Jesy did not miss the fact that even when he wore a mask, his voice was still deep and sexy too. For a moment she was lost as her brain kept replaying his voice in her head again and again, until the blaring honk of a moving truck yanked her back to reality.
Jesy was really thankful that the man finally spoke up, this was a good sign that he would negotiate. She began to rethink how to say her statement. The highway was a bit windy and her black hair was dancing in all directions and she needed to keep constantly tugging it behind her ears to keep them in place.
"Well, you see, actually I…okay, let me say it like this…the thing is…"
Trevor was so intrigued with her stuttering, amazement danced in his eyes but it was barely noticeable and Jesy obviously did not notice it after all, she was thinking so very hard on how to construct a simple sentence.
Jesy was already cursing her incapability in her head, how could her brain start wavering at a crucial moment like this? Why the hell was she stammering? Her brain became surprisingly blocked today of all days, she used to be a sharp witted brainer but those skills suddenly flew away along with the wind of the highway. How annoying!
It was even more embarrassing that she couldn't tell what the man was thinking, why is he so quiet? It was hard to read his mind with such blank stare from him.
"I don't have the money to pay right now, I just recently got a job."
She finally said with reluctance, she wasn't even sure if she made the right statement.
Money? Money was definitely not a problem for a person like Trevor, if he wanted as many car as possible, he could get them within a blink of an eye and he just so wanted to say that to Jesy but he decided to keep it shut and see what she was up to. Who knew he had the time to get himself entertained by a woman he didn't know from anywhere. Being the CEO of the best entertainment company in the country, he could do whatever it was that pleases him and spending time listening to this woman talk was no problem to him and no one could say a thing about it.
"What are you implying?"
His voice, once again, interrupted Jesy's crazy thought, she looked at his eyes and she noticed the small amount of curiosity in them and it made her subconsciously smile, finally he was reacting, finally she could read him unlike his usual blank self.
Trevor was taken aback by her sudden smile, she looked beautiful and captivating with those smile on her face. Her perfect set of white teeth was in view and her eyes formed a crescent shape as she smiled. Her happy face warmed his heart for some reason he couldn't place his hands on. Seeing her smiling face everyday would not be a bad idea…
"I need time to gather the money and pay back."
Jesy replied with hope in her smooth voice like chocolate, Trevor raised a brow at her words, how interesting.
"And how do you want to pay me back? You don't certainly think you would be seeing me everyday like today? Am a very busy man."
Trevor answered back and waited patiently to see how she would reply him again. What would she say this time? He was suddenly finding himself interested in this interesting woman standing before him. He stared into her dark eyes and he could see something else inside them, something in a total contrast of her happy self, it was hard to tell and his curiosity piqued to a higher degree. He wanted to know what was securely hidden in those dark deep eyes, behind her smiling and happy layer.
Trevor was inwardly shaking his head. How could a person suddenly find interest in a total stranger? It was really laughable, was it?. Trevor had thought he was someone who could never give a woman a second glance but here he was, giving his full attention to a stranger.
