Chapter 15 - Chapter 14: Artifact Target

The next day, I decided to take a small run. This would probably be the only time I'd be able to go out without anything bothering me. The Wanderer news was finally released on the internet, but my face wasn't shown yet. They said I was resting and the like and probably later today would be the ultimate reveal to the internet.

It gained so much traction that it's number one trending on almost all social platforms. A young Wanderer kills a Grand Inter and enrolls in the famous Guardian Academy of Sense. Unique news I must say.

" Look... is he a first-year? Isn't he good-looking? "

" Omg... He looks better than the prince and that white-hair guy. "

" Are you crazy? "

I'll try to savor this as much as possible as this attention will only be here for a while. I'm sure that admiration will turn into animosity after learning about a powerless cadet.

I continued running for the rest of the morning, as I learned my lesson from that lizardman chase which is to not sleep on exercise. Besides, physical fitness is something I need in this world regardless of power.

...

" Hello, Mr.Mon. We're from BWC News. The interview for your related experience will occur later at around 6 in the evening. We'll call for you once our staff reaches your location "

A lot of texts with the same context arrived shortly after my morning run. It's different news channels and even some entertainment ones calling for recorded and even in-person interviews.

They were offering good money too, but that's not something I need at this moment. Making sure to attend Sense is my number one priority. It would also start tomorrow, so I'm good with the in-person interviews for now.

I'd just do the inevitable interviews, and be done with that.

hmm... I guess I'd be quite busy later at night. I still need to go to the hospital to do some work. I won't have any time later tonight, and I should at least finish this week of testing, before doing anything peculiar. I'll just say this line of work isn't for me or something after an entire week.

With that being said, I changed into my uniform and immediately went to the hospital. There is some separate clothing there to use inside the hospital, so I went and changed into blue medical clothing.

" Alright... since you have absolutely no experience nor ability in this field, you should just help the others with some of their errands. The clothing you're wearing is for interns who are typically clueless, so you don't have to worry about getting hard jobs. " The head nurse immediately assigned me a role, in which I don't know if I was insulted or if he was just looking out for me. Regardless, I decided to go help out in the hospital.

Someone who needs errands...

I guess there's only one spot for that.

I decided to go to the Lab which was full of students. They were getting their health and other biological identities checked. Iris, fingerprints, and even blood for the school. School starts tomorrow so people have flooded in trying to complete the necessary requirements.

" Uhm... Hello Mr. Kro. I'm an intern here. Is there anything I could help you with? I wa- " I couldn't even finish my sentence and I was immediately pulled inside without any contemplation.

" Good I was waiting for you. "

No, you weren't...

Mr. Kro who was responsible for the lab was the one who pulled me in. His hair look like he just got the electrocution treatment, and his eyes were darker than black.

I mean he wasn't waiting for me, but I'm sure he needed me.

Here sit here and do everything you need to do. I need to go back to my work.

" But I- "

" Alright, students! there's another line on the left, go and get your IQs, your piss color, or whatever the hell you need to be checked on Mr. Intern. "

-don't know how to do this...

And I didn't even have enough time to go out of my seat, as the students who waited in line for so long rushed to go to my empty line.

Shit... Now what. Would Mr. Kro even listen to my words? Heck even if I say I'm a Wanderer he wouldn't care. With that haggard look, I'm sure as long as work is off his back, he'd even let a prisoner work here.

' Four fingertips left arm, Four fingertips right arm, Thumb tips, Iris. ' I decided to read what was needed on the computer as It was the normal stuff the staff collects when they need your biometrics.

Uhh... Could you place your four fingers here?

...

Alright, everything on the list was checked, except the blood... Like, I'm not trying to kill someone here.

I did do it for a film once, but that was with a lot of practice and guidance. Besides, I've forgotten how to do it already since it's been a while since I did it.

" Alright, I'll do the blood check. Just give me a syringe and the form they have. " Thankfully, a nurse behind me took the responsibility for taking the blood.

Thank god for this guy. He pretty much saved me from potential danger.

I grabbed the form of the student in front of me, and the syringe, which was still inside a sterile container.

" Here... "

Hmm... talking about syringes, what should I do with my artifact? Some might say you can never be first if you copy so they say. But as someone who's in the last of the line, I'd take a second any day. But who is the first? And how will I copy them?

A dragon? A dragon is a royal-class monster, capable of wreaking havoc without even trying, but their blood is filled with mana, and a human, let alone a normal person like me won't be able to handle the abundant energy.

A phoenix? That would be insane. The ability to be reborn would take care of the immense mana capacity of a royal class's blood, but how would I even get the blood of a phoenix? Not only are they incredibly rare, but I would become roast before I can manage to stab it with a needle.

...

I'm not going to settle for a Noble, as this artifact only takes about eighty percent of the original's target power. If I want to be on the same level as the main characters, settling for the noble class, is a fool's choice.

It should only be the strongest out of the strongest...

...

" Alright, can you put your thumbs on this, please" I've grown accustomed to this, I'm not going to lie to you. The syringe part still feels weird, as the artifact in my pocket had the same package as the one I'm giving to the nurse which kinda terrifies me in case I give the artifact rather than a normal one.

" Alright please head to sir over there and bring this with you. "

" Ok, hello there Ms. Fin " Students continue to flock the line. I think my face isn't helping in this scenario as my line became the most popular after word went around.

" Alright Thank you... "

" Next... "

A young boy the same age as me, walks ahead carrying his paper form. He had pure white hair with strong amber eyes, giving the look of a celebrity.

" Look it's him... " Chattering fills the area as they notice his presence.

Hah... It seems he's here. The hidden reason why I applied for the medical sector.

The strongest out of strongest, and my target with this special syringe.

" Welcome, Mr. Sol. " I read out his name as he hands me his form.

The protagonist.
