Chapter 38 - Strange Things.

"It's fine, you are forgiven. Okay?" I said to Genevieve.

"Really?" She asked excitedly.

I nodded and said,

"Yes, you are forgiven, but you will have to be punished for what you did."

"Yes my Lady. I am willing to accept any punishment you give me." She said to me, smiling.

"You must abide by them, no matter what and you can't go back." I said to her in a strict tone.

"What are they, my Lady?" She asked in a calm tone, but she was looking unhappy.

"Firstly, you must continue calling me your Lady and secondly, you should stay away from J….. Johnson, am I clear?" I asked her, with a serious face.

I was going to laugh, because I haven't warned someone about anything serious before, but I made sure not to laugh and look serious.

"But my Lady, I am friends with him, it's not fair." She said, displeased.

"No, you must avoid him by all means, please." I said to her and before she could say anything, as she was confused, I added,

"You are dismissed." I made sure not to look at her, or else I was going to laugh.

"Yes my Lady." She said and slid out of the car.

The moment she closed the car door behind I, I exhaled softly and said,

"Thank goodness."

I rested my head on the steering wheel with my hands folded between my head and the steering wheel.

I didn't know how it happened,but I fell asleep.

I woke up when someone was slightly tapping me on my right shoulder.

I slightly opened my eyes and saw J.J looking down at me, smiled.

"Hey." He said when I completely opened my eyes and sat up, rubbing my eyes.

"Hello." I greeted him.

"You have been sleeping for two hours, we have to go. Everyone else has left." He said to me, looking at me, as if I was caught in an act of murder.

I thought he was lying or joking, but I opened the door and came out of it and looked around, but there was no one else around.

He was serious, they all left without me?

Am

Is this how they are going to protect me?

I slid back into the car and looked at J.J with a frown.

"How could they?" I asked.

He shrugged and said, smiling,

"I was going to leave too, but...Uhm… What's his name again?" He paused to remember this person's name he was telling me about.

"Ah ha!" He exclaimed when he remembered and then continued,

"Raymond. He was willing to stay back and wait for you and then he pleaded with me to wait for you instead. He also said that you will be more pleased to see me instead of him, is that true?" He asked curiously.

"No, that's not true." I lied. The truth is that I will be delighted to see either of them when I wake up from sleep. I really do not mind.

He shrugged again, raising his brows at the same time and said,

"If you say so."

"Yes, I would have preferred him being by my side, instead of you." I said and giggled.

"Maybe next time." He said and slid out of the car, walked round it, got to the driver's door, opened it and said,

"Hop down, I am driving."

"No, I can." I resisted.

"You can't because you look terrible. You look as if you just resurrected from death." He said.

"What?" I asked, but before he could reply, I asked another question,

"Do I look that terrible?"

He nodded and said,

"You kind of stink too. You need to brush and take a shower."

What?

I felt very embarrassed.

Why is he very straightforward?

He shouldn't have said that to me.

I quickly pushed my hair forward and used to cover my face and slid down out of the driver's seat and sat at the back of the driver's seat.

He slid into the car and replaced me in the driver's seat, fastened his seatbelt, turned on the engine and drove off.

We returned to the house which we hurriedly left

I left him immediately without taking anything with me, except my two phones.

I entered the living room and met the guys, Hale and Raymond, watching a football match. I walked past them, as if they were strangers to me, they didn't talk to me either.

I entered the Kitchen and saw Genevieve, she was cooking. I didn't bother checking was she was cooking, I stopped at the door of the Kitchen and asked,

"Where is Lizzy?"

"She just left here.I don't know where she went, but she said she was coming back." Genevieve replied to me.

"Okay." I said and was about walking when Genevieve quickly walked up to me and held me by my right arm.

"My Lady, please wait. There is something I want to talk to you about." She said to me,

"What is it?" I asked curiously.

Was she going to beg me again?

I was not going to take back anything I said to her earlier.

"It's about Johnson." She said,

"I thought I asked you to stay away from him." I said to Genevieve.

"Yes, but what I am about to talk to you about has nothing to do with that, it's different." She said to me,

I sighed slightly and asked,

"What is it?"

I was curious.

"Johnson has been behaving strangely lately." She said in a low tone, almost whispering, as she was looking worried.

"What do you mean?" I asked, as I asked my brows.

"Today, when I went to meet him, I was happy at first to see him for almost or more than a month, but I saw something strange, I didn't know if it was real or if I was the one seeing things." She said, as she was looking even more worried.

"What is it?" I asked.

"I saw his eyes, this afternoon, they were red, but he quickly hid his face, he quickly faced down and raised them up about five minutes later and his eyes were normal when he did. He was also holding a sunscreen." She said,

"It's no big deal, maybe the sunscreen got into his eyes when he was applying it. Nobody is perfect, remember?" I asked.

"That might be true. I have never thought about it. I am sorry to bother you, my Lady." She said and faced down.

"It's fine. Did you ask him to find out?" I asked her.

"No,my Lady. She replied and shook her head at the same time.

"So what did you do?" I asked.

I just pretended I didn't see anything." She replied and shrugged at the same time.

I nodded and asked her,

"Should I ask him then?"

"No, my Lady, don't." She replied and let go of my arm and returned to what she was cooking.

"Is there anything else you want to talk about?" I asked, as I turned to leave.

"No, my lady." She replied and shook my head at the same time.

I left the kitchen and went in search of J.J. I checked the living room, but he wasn't with the other boys. He must still be inside the car.I decided to go check up on him to see why he wasn't inside yet,but when I got to the door of the living room and was about to step out, Lizzy called out my name.

"Eunice."

I completely forgot about what I was going to do the very moment I heard my name.

"Yeah." I answered and asked,

"Where are you?" As I looked around the living room in search of her.

"I am here." She said from the room that she and Hale shares.

I went back to meet her and saw her with some pills and a bottle of water.

I walked up to her and asked,

"Where have you been?"

"I have been looking for you." I added.

"Same here, I have been waiting for you." She said and laughed softly.

"Follow me." She said and went back into the room that she just came out from.

I did and followed her into the room.

She closed the door behind me and fastened the bolts.

She exhaled and stretched out the bottle of water and a bag of drugs in front of me and said,

"Take this."

"Why?" I asked, confused.

"You grew fangs today when you were mad at me. I didn't tell you, because I didn't know how to and your eyes were becoming red, it was like pink when you left." She said to me and pouted nervously.

"What?" I asked.

"Really?" I asked again.

"Yes." She said and shook her head at the same time.

I quickly opened my mouth and touched my teeth in search of any very pointy one, but there wasn't.

"They have gone back inside." Lizzy said and shook her hands that were still hanging in the air in front of me.

"Really?" I asked, as I collected the pills and bottle of water from her.

She nodded without saying anything and walked towards a drawer that was in one end of the corner of the room.

"What are all these drugs?" I asked, as I opened the bag and checked the drugs, but was only able to recognize the sachet paracetamol inside the bag, with the bottle of water under my armpit.

"Those are paracetamol, antibiotics and painkillers. Hale and Raymond went to get them when you were asleep."

"Why?" I asked curiously.

"Your temperature was very high, that was why we left you and J.J behind, I and Genevieve drove here directly, while Hale and Raymond went to the pharmacy, the one J.J and Hale went to this morning." She explained to me.

"Oh!" I exclaimed.

"Who prescribed this?" I asked.

"Remember,he is a two hundred level medicine and surgery student." She replied to me.

"The wounds from your fangs haven't healed yet." She added.

I quickly reached for my phone and checked my reflection on the screen to see if it was true and it was really true.

Why hasn't it healed?

Have I stopped speed healing?

"Are you sure this is safe?" I asked, as I frowned at the drugs.

"Yes." She replied and nodded at the same time.

"There is something else I want to talk to you about too." She said, as she turned to face me again.

"What is it?" I asked.

She looked sad a bit, but cleared her throat and said,

"I told Hale."

"What?" I asked.

"I thought you promised to keep it a secret and not tell anyone." I said to her, vexed.

"I am sorry, I had no choice. I was very worried, but trust me I didn't tell Lizzy and J.J." She assured me.

"Are you sure?" I ask her.

"Yeah." She replied to me and nodded at the same time.

"I really don't want to let them know." I said to Lizzy.

"Why?" She asked, concerned.

"Because I just can't. I don't even know how to begin. It will be very hard to do." I replied to her.

"No it won't." She assured me.

"How sure are you?" I asked.

"Hundred percent." She replied.

"Because they left their homes and lives behind just to be here with you at this hard time of your life." She added.

"Won't they get freaked out and terrified?" I asked,

"Especially Genevieve." I quickly added before she could even respond to me.

"Don't worry." She said to me and I just nodded.

"Are you planning to ever tell those two?" She asked curiously.

"Maybe, I might." I replied to her and shrugged at the same time.

"It's important that you should, because it is good that they should know about what is going on. It's not fair that you are keeping such a secret away from them." She said to me and laughed softly.

"I will, but not know, maybe on my birthday." I said to her,

"On your birthday?" She asked.

"Yes, on my birthday." I replied to her and nodded at the same time.
