"What one thing?" I asked my guardian angel.
"Something you need to know before you go," she said.
"Okay."
"What is it?" I asked.
"Lizzy is pregnant," she said.
"What?" I was shocked.
"How did you know?" I asked.
"Because I'm an angel."
"A guardian angel."
"Your guardian angel." She said,
"Okay I get it."
"Can I go now?" I asked.
"You won't remember any of this." She said,
"Why?" I asked.
"You will partially." She said,
"Partially?" I asked
"How?" Am seriously confused.
"You will remember, but you won't remember how you know so much." She said,
"Like an instinct?" I asked her.
"Yeah, not really. But it's something like that," she said to me.
"That's fair enough." I said to her,
"The first thing you will do when you wake up is coughing." She informed me.
"Coughing?" I asked.
"Yes." She replied to me.
"What?" She asked
"Nothing." I said.
I should be grateful, right?
I am finally waking up for only God knows how long.
Yay!
Am happy.
"You do not like it?" She asked.
I shook my head first and then said,
"No."
"I absolutely do not like it nor want it."
"Okay. What do you want?" She asked me.
"How about sneezing?" I asked her.
"Sneezing?" She asked.
"Yeah."
"Sneezing."
"The cute type." I said to her,
"The cute type?" She asked.
"Yeah."
"The cute type."
"It should sound like a baby's own." I said to her,
"Like a baby's own?" She asked.
"Yeah." I said and nodded at the same time.
"But your sneeze has always sounded like a lion laughing." She said and rolled her eyes.
"Hahahaha."
I did an obviously fake laugh and then said.
"That's very funny." I said to her,
"Just suit yourself." I said to her, as I have already given up on the sneezing topic.
Hi too
"I will just grant you your wish." She said to me and smiled.
"Okay."
"Thank you." I said to her and smiled back.
"You are welcome." She said to me and started circling her wand
"Wait." I said.t
"What?" She asked.
"How long have I been dead on earth?" I asked her.
I wanted to be sure.
She checked her wrist watch and said,
"Twenty three hours and fifty minutes."
"What?" I asked, shocked.
She looked at her wrist watch again and said to me,
"You have been here for thirty one minutes."
"What?" I asked.
"Yeah."
"The time here is different from Earths." She said to me,
"Okay,"
"I will miss you," she said and pouted.
"I will miss you too," I said to her and smiled.
"Okay."
"It's time to go. Bye." She said to me and waved at me.
"Bye." I replied to her and waved her back.
She then started to circle her wand in the air before I could say Jack, I was already back in the hospital.
I opened my eyes, but there was no single sign of light.
Where am I? I asked myself.
I was very terrified.
I then sneezed.
Wow.
My guardian angel actually kept to her promise.
But everywhere was as dark and blank the way it was before I lost consciousness.
"Help." I screamed,I was not sure if
anybody can hear me.
"Am alive."
"Help."
Just then, I realized that there was no need to shout again.
No one can hear me.
I was inside a cold box.
"Where the fuck am I?" I asked myself under my breath.
Just then, I realized that I was in a mortuary.
Inside a cold box.
Where corpses are kept to prevent decaying.
"No,no,no,no,no,no,no."
It can't be.
My family and friends would not give up on me that easily.
I have to get out of here.
I have to leave here, it stinks.
Ewww.
Just then, I remembered something.
They talked about shaving all my hair out.
I wanted to touch my head to confirm, but there was not enough space to do that.
I have to leave here, this instant.
I began kicking the lid or door or whatever it was.
"Hello."
"Is anyone here?"
I guess I was just asking the corpses for help.
There was no oxygen inside here either.
I was out of breath too.
I have to leave here before I die again.
I kicked and kicked.
I was longing for oxygen.
That is all that matters for now, oxygen.
I continued to kick until there was a hole on the lid or door.
I continued to keep until the hole became wide enough for my hand to pass through it.
I passed my right hand through the hole and unlocked it from the outside.
The moment it was unlocked, I slid my hand out of the hole and gently pushed the lid open.
I slid out of the box and fell down.
It was quite high.
I just laid there, the way I fell and gasped for air.
When I became strong enough, I knelt down and clasped my palms together.
"Thank you God, for bringing me back to life."
"And for giving me a second chance to live."
"In Jesus' name."
"Amen."
I then opened my eyes.
That was when I realized that I was naked.
I stood up and glanced around the room.
So these are where human dead bodies are kept temporarily.
Thank God I haven't been buried or burnt.
It's a relief that I am alive.
What do I do from here?
It was a very very large room.
I walked towards the door, but it was locked.
Shit!
What is this?
I am the only living person in this room, I have to leave here, before someone else wakes up.
I will be very terrified if that happens.
Without thinking twice, I began screaming at the top of my voice.
"Hello."
"Is anyone out there?"
"Please help me."
"I'm stuck here."
"Hello."
I then started crying as tears began rolling down my cheeks.
"Mom, I am alive. Your baby is waiting for you."
"Grandma, come here. Your favorite grandchild is here."
I tried calling out for help again.
"Help."
"Please."
I stopped crying and wiped my tears.
What am I even thinking?
No one should see me like this.
What if a guy comes to help instead.
I have to look for another way to leave here.
There has to be another alternative, right?
The big question is,
What is the alternative?
I looked around again, but there was no window in the room.
Not even one.
I have to cover my body first before anyone sees me.
I searched the room and saw a cabinet. I opened it and saw very dusty shorts and a very ugly gown.
I had no other choice, but to wear it.
I beat it against the wall to reduce the dust and then wore it.
I walked around the room for any small opening, but could not find any.
The room was so damn cold.
I looked up and saw one of the ceilings that was not properly positioned.
Whoever opened it must have forgotten to cover it properly.
Though, it was not that obvious.
I climbed one layer of the boxes that were stacked on top of one another.
I got to the last one on the top and stretched to get hold of the opening in the ceiling.
I couldn't.
The only option left is to jump carefully, not more than twice or else I and the boxes would go down.
I had to do something quickly.
I had to think, but there was no time for that right now.
Without thinking at all, I jumped and luckily or fortunately for me, I was able to get hold of the opening in the ceiling, but I almost lost my balance, as both of my left legs were left hanging and swinging in the air.
I would have fallen,if I had not reached the opening in the ceiling.
I held onto the opening in the ceiling firmly and pushed myself in order to be able to lift my body and successfully climbed into the ceiling.
I laid there again to catch some breath.
After I gained enough strength to continue, I knelt down and started crawling.
I searched for a room to enter but found none.
I later came to one end of the ceiling and saw a place I can successfully climb down without causing any scene.
I jumped and fell, but I was not injured.
It was outside the building.
After I climbed down, I then learnt that I was still in the premises of the hospital.
It was the hospital mortuary building.
I wanted to go into the hospital but what if someone recognizes me and raises an alarm.
The thought of it made me scared and did not want to go home.
I saw someone coming towards my direction and I quickly looked for a place to hide.
I ran to the back of the building and bent down behind a large flower free close to a window.
I looked at the window and saw a bandana tied to the iron rod protector of the window.
It was very damn dusty too.
I loosened it and started to beat it in the air to reduce the dust
I tied it from my head down below my chin, so that no one could easily recognize me.
I have to go to someone who doesn't know that I died before.
Someone who doesn't know me at all and I got just the perfect person in mind.
I stood up and began the journey to my destination.
