Chapter 24 - Future house

I really do not know what to do from here.

I just laid down and started thinking about what has happened for these past few days.

I will start with Mike. I still can't believe my eyes that he has another family.

I don't know what to call the mother of his child.

Baby mama?

Or

Mistress?

I think that was his first love, the mother of the girl.

What's her name again?

Alice in wonderland.

Alice.

Should I call her my sister or my stepsister?

I actually do not care, for now.

I will tell mom everything whenever I have the chance.

I sighed softly as I turned and laid on my back with my hands behind my head, I was resting my head on them.

The bed is very old, but it's surprisingly soft and still very much comfortable.

I was getting bored, so I decided to have a walk around the woods.

I just covered my face the way I did earlier today.

I first walked around my new house and then farther away from the house.

I came out of the road.

No one should be able to recognize me.

I started trekking.

I have to go look for J.J.

I remembered his address.

It's not really far from my campus, he is a gownie. He lives with his family.

One hour and thirty minutes later, I got there.

I was in front of my dream husband's house. My possible future house.

I was nervous when I got to the gate of his house.

I just stood there as If I was waiting for him to come outside and carry me in his arms and go inside.

I just hope his parents aren't around.

I knocked on the gate and a security officer walked towards me then opened the gate, not to let me in,but to question me first.

"Hey miss, how may I help you?" He asked.

"I'm in search of someone." I said.

"Who?"

"J.J" I replied.

"What's your name?" He asked.

"Eunice Mike." I replied.

"This miss wants to see the young master. Go inform him that one Miss Eunice Mike is seeking an audience with him." He ordered one of the security officers.

'Young master?'

' Wow.'

"Give us a minute ma'am." He said to me and I just nodded.

The security officer he sent away returned and whispered to him when he got to the one attending to me.

"Come in miss.". He said he opened the gate wide enough for me to pass.

"Search her." He said to the female security officer.

'Search me?'

Do I look very suspicious? I think I do with the coverings.

"She is clean." She said to him when she was done searching.

"Follow me." He said to me and I did.

When we got to the door of the living room, he knocked.

A voice from inside ordered us to come in.

The security officer opened the door for me and gestured for me to go inside.

"Thank you." I said to him as I entered inside.

"You are welcome." He said as he closed the door behind him and left.

I sighed heavily before turning to face J.J.

"Hi." He stood up to greet me,as he was obviously confused, but he seemed cool with it.

"Hi J.J." I greeted him back.

He gently placed the book he was reading before I came in on the large center table before him.

"Do I know you?" He asked.

"Yes, you do." I said to him as I started removing everything I used to cover my face.

"Oh!" He exclaimed.

"It's you." He said and laughed softly.

"Yeah, it's me." I said to him and smiled.

"Where do I know you from?"

Ugh! Is he really asking?

"You look very familiar." He quickly added before I could reply to him.

"Really?" I unknowingly asked excitedly.

"Yeah." He said and nodded.

"Um." I said and quickly licked my lips.

"I mean, we attended the same high school and now the same college." I added and laughed nervously.

"Oh!" He exclaimed.

"I remember now. We talked the other day." He said and smiled.

"Oh!"

" So you do remember." I said to him nervously.

"Of course I do." He smiled back at me and added. "Please sit down."

"Thank you." I said and sat down.

"What should I offer you?" He asked.

"Anything. Maybe strawberry juice and water?" I asked.

"Be right back." He said and stood up to leave.

"Sorry. Do you have biscotti?" I asked.

He turned around again to face me again.

"No. How about I do a homemade one?" He asked.

"Yes, please." I replied, excitedly.

"That will take a while to prepare." He said and sighed. "I will be right back." He added and left.

Wow.

He's fun, no wonder I am head over heels for him.

But something was off.

Doesn't he watch t.v?

Didn't he recognize me from t.v?

Like, I am all over the news.

He was reading a novel when I came in.

I think he hasn't seen it yet.

But, he has a phone. He should have seen it, no matter what.

Is he pretending?

Or

Is he being nice to me out of pity?

It is either one of those.

Maybe he hasn't come across it yet.

Exactly twelve minutes later,

He returned, carrying a small tray that contained the biscuits, a bottle of water and strawberry juice each and a glass cup.

"Thank you." I said to him, as he gently placed the tray on the center table.

"You are welcome." He said and poured out some of the juice on the glass cup for me.

What a gentleman.

"Enjoy." He said to me, smiling.

"Don't worry about rushing. Please take your time." He said as he sat back and continued reading his book.

I took a sip of the juice and then a bite of the biscuit. It was delicious.

He is a good pastry chef.

I'm impressed.

My grandma once said that there's a difference between a pastry chef and a cook.

He might be both, who knows?

"Thank you. I enjoyed it" I said to him, smiling when I finished.

"You are welcome." He said and took the tray back to the kitchen.

He sat at the other end of the same sofa with me.

"So, why are you here?" He asked

"To ask for your help and assistance." I replied.

"Me?" He asked

"Why me?" He asked again.

"You are the only one I can trust, for now." I said to him,

"You trust me?" He asked and I nodded in reply.

"But we barely know each other." He said.

"You barely know me, but I know you, a lot." I said to him,

"Who are you really?" He asked.

"I am still a bit confused." He added.

"Haven't seen the news lately?" I asked.

"I have, you are very popular now." He said. "Or, should I say notorious?" He asked.

"Please yourself." I said to him,

"Can I ask you a quick question?" He asked.

"Sure, you can." I replied to him.

"Did you really resurrect?" He asked, curiously.

"Yes." I replied.

"So, it's true." He said.

"Yes, it is true." I said to him,

"Did you see anything?" He asked.

"Like what?" I asked.

"Angels, grim reapers, God or strange creatures." He said.

"No." I said to him,

I just lied.

Wait, did my guardian angel lied to me.

I remember everything.

Angels lie too?

"Nevermind I asked." He said and smiled awkwardly.

"So, jokes apart. Let me tell you why I need your help."

"Do you seriously need my help?" He asked, surprised.

"Yeah." I replied and nodded.

"Okay." He said. "Am all ears." He added.

"They are just three little favors." I said.

"That sounds easy." He said and laughed softly.

"First, I need you to go tell my family that I am fine." I said.

"Your family?" He asked and I just nodded in reply.

"I do not know them." He said amidst confusion.

"Don't worry, I have a plan." I said to him, but he didn't say anything.

"Secondly, I need you to change my look." I said.

"Your look?" He asked and I nodded in response.

"Am not a magician." He said and I ignored him and continued.

"Lastly, I can't be coming out like I did today. It's very risky. I might get caught and forcely dragged to a lab." I said.

"So?" He asked.

"I will be needing supplies until everything is over." I said

"Till everything is over?" He asked and I nodded.

"What?" I asked him.

"Nothing." He replied.

"Are you scared?" I asked.

"No." He replied and shook his head.

"Better." I said and giggled.

"Better?" He asked.

"What?" I asked him.

"You are welcome." He said.

"Thank you." I said and he nodded.

He raised his head and looked at the wall clock.

"Shoot. My parents will be home soon." He said, he was a bit scared.

"So?" I asked.

"It's better they don't meet me at home than to meet you here." He said.
